leisa2003
Do you keep your on overnight if you know you'll be pouring the next day, or do you turn off when done and reheat? How long does it usually take to get your wax at the temp you want?I think I need a new Presto,..its taking way to long to get it to 180 and stay there without the wax coolng down,...Rrrrrr! pcbrook
I have never really timed it but it does not seem to take more than 1/2 hour to heat up a full one. I would never leave it on overnight. Too paranoid.
rjdaines
I don't leave it on unattended, Melt time is about 30 minutes which, to me , is fast.
PAgirl89
I never leave mine on overnight. I always unplug the pot and reheat. I just picked up 2 more pots today at Kmart for $29.99 each.
leisa2003
Yeah, I think mine is bad,..its seems to take a few hours to heat to 180.
BrookstoneCandles
I never leave mine unattended. Leaving it on overnight seems dangerous and unnecessary, to me at least. It's not worth the risk. If yours is taking that long to heat up, you definitely need a new one! As inexpensive as they are, it'll be worth your while because you're probably using a lot of extra electricity having to wait that long for it to heat up, leaving it on overnight, etc.
Judy, USMC
Another one that turns off & unplugs every day. I'll try to get it as empty as possible by then end of the day & try to leave the pot not more than 1/4 full.
FaithfulScenter
I too unplug at the end of the day, it doesn't take long at al to melt a full pot. I'm planning on picking up a couple more and having DH put spouts on them for me
Mountain Soy Candle
We pull the plug on it when done. I agree it doesnt take long to melt after it hardens.
Sharon in KY
I don't pull the plug but have them plugged into a surge protector and I turn that off.
jeanie353
Unplug when done but do leave any left over unscented wax in Presto and reheat for next batch.
