lmc
Hi and welcome to the forum! Yes stearic can help...I use 1 1/2tsp per 2 lbs. You will need to test it to be sure it works with your recipe...hth Edited October 28, 2012 by lmc

Candybee
Stearic acid works great as a hardener but just be careful as it can also take away lather. You will have to test it out in your base to see how it works for you.Other hardeners are coconut oil, olive oil, cocoa butter. For a soft base I tend to use a combo of hardeners; co, oo, plus stearic as all three bring something to the table and give the bar more conditioning properties as well as a harder longer lasting bar.
