  1. Those look great!!! I really like the black a lot. My light box is lightly frosted/clear tote, we need sturdy things round here Then I throw my white background over it when I need more difused light. I use white poster board for the back, and your right I wouldn't want to do white outside, it can be tricky. But get 3-4 flood lights, one on top, both sides and front (unless you have a good flash). I do photo
  2. I looove looove looove the Pumpkin crunch!!! Do not like the Pumpkin Pie Spice. Hillbilly Brew is nice but having trouble with HT, Spiced Cranberry is great too but not lasting long, jus uped the % in those so we will see. The Craking Birch is awesome!!! That's all I've burned so far. I really like the Witching Hour, haven't burned yet but it's like a cinn tea
  3. I've been testing for awhile with tarts. I'm using 415 and mostly NG FO. So, I made a tart with Pumpkin Crunch Cake, loooove it btw, and it was strong and lasted 12 hrs! I did another one for myself and friends.... it didn't last as long. I did everything the same, maybe the AC was up higher that day...?... I was reading the other day and someone (in candles) said that temp by 5 degrees or so does not effect the HT that much, not exact quote but... I have been testing each FO in variables of 5 degrees. Getting it up to 180 then letting it drop and I have noticed that 5degrees does make a huge difference....right? Or is it me? I also started tempering recently cause I did it by accident and the wax looked soooo much better! I'm not holding it at a certain temp or anything. I've also noticed a few times my wax has gotten a bit hotter than what I have been trying to keep it at,180, do you think this has any effects on HT? Am I taking the temp thing too serious? I have not had the chance to test my tempered ones yet. And honestly I feel like maybe my thermometer is a lil slow. I've gotten some decient tarts avg. 8hrs, except the very first one I did and the first set of pumpkin, what a tease Jus wanted some assurance that there is a chance that I am not completly off my rocker. Should I have a better system to keep the temps more steady and hold during tempering? Wanted to make a nice basket of tarts for my MIL bday coming up so I'm kinda freaking out a lil Thanks for all the support and info guys!
  4. I bought some from CS. New at this so the longest I have had a tart in one is prob a month, maybe a lil longer. But no plastic smell, yet. hth
  5. I've only used NG oils and just plain 415, but did get flaky top if I poured above 99. Cucumber wasabi cilantro was super flakey for what ever reason. Prob not much help but jus what happend to me. Have you tried pouring a lil cooler with those FOs?
  6. Awesome idea! When I was reading those three were first to mind Well done!
  7. I jus poured the Hillbilly a few min ago and Pumpkin crunch last night. Both are SUPER yummmm! But now I think I am jus gonna have to try the mulled cider as well, only cause I too have a weakness for ciders. Lol I am trying so hard not to try every single FO but I don't want any of them to feel neglected At least I have been getting jus sample sizes, right?! Anyone try the Vamp vogue from NG? It sounds nice and got good reviews jus would like to hear more bout it. Everyone has been a great help! Thanks again!
  8. Well then Cracklin birch is on top of the list! Ravens, did you have issues wicking it in 415? Marcuset, I picked Hillbilly homebrew over the Mulled cider, have you tried the Hillbilly homebrew? I love a good mulled cider but the Homebrew got such great reviews. Darn it, another one to think about lol.
  9. Cracklin birch is what first caught my eye then I realized I really do need an outdoor fall type for my fall loving friends. I read that quite a few have had issues with it burning right as well. I'm sticking with melts for now, although I have a serious itch to go ahead with wicking :smiley2: I've only tried Butt naked in the 464, it was good but didn't last long enough. I plan to play with the others I have in 415 within the next month or so, will keep you posted. I'm really hoping that the Spiced cranberry is similar to CS Cranberry marmalade, looooove that one Thank you both for your help!
  10. Ok, so I think I'm fairly done with my testing and am going with 415! I have been using NG for FO and I already have quite a few for fall and winter but am looking for a nice outdoors type for fall. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! The ones that are fallish I already have (but yet to test) are: Hillbilly homebrew, Pumpkin crunch cake, Spiced cranberry, Apple jack peel, Orange clove, Country bumpkin, & Cinn. sticks (all NG). Yes, I see the problem.... I have bought 50 FOs without having my wax picked out yet....I couldn't help myself:o. I am interested in trying the following NG outdoor type FOs, but trying to keep it down to two...or three: Autum magic, Cracklin birch, Harvest moon, Harvest type, Twilight in the woods, Witching hour, & Vamp vogue. There's always next year to order and try more but for now, so I don't get into trouble, I just want to hear what you guys think are the best so I can pick a few Thanks for all your help, you guys truely are an amazing bunch! Looking forward to the opinions!
  11. I'm not even close to starting soap yet, but that is an AWSOME idea! Love it!
  12. Very nice! I just started tarts, lip balm & roll-ons, my daugher(10) has already asked about eyeshadows lol. I see some of these in our future
  13. I had a feeling you were gonna say something with cyclo. Was tryin to stick with just FCO, but I guess Im gonna have to try this Thanks again!
  14. Thanks Naturally Tru!!! I ordered some singles from fancyperfumebottles.com ( I think that's what it is), they carry the same bottles w/o having to do the $50 min. Anyhow, I am very happy with em, they are made well and my daughter has been keeping it in her back pack w/o any issues Will be trying their other stuff soon! If you don't mind me asking what do you use with your fragrance? I just used FCO in my roll-ons but they are pretty weak or don't last long strong like I want. Thanks again!
  15. Last night I did a bunch of combos with my soy waxes, still have a ton more to try out Can't wait to test em! Soooo hooked! Already getting another order ready in my head even though I'm only using one FO for the testing, I got 32 but I know I NEED more!!! Thanks to everyone on here for the great input and suggestions! I can tell this is gonna bring me some trouble
  16. Hello! Been stalking the forum for a while now and ready to have some fun! I'm starting with roll-ons and was wondering if anyone has tried bestbottles.com 's roll-ons. I have seen one person comment on them but that was it and a few years back. They have the best price and lots to choose from. Any suggestions would be great, thanks
  17. Oh, Duh! Forgot bout the smooth tops and frosting, lol see, I read too much Jeanie, I'm in Gainesville, where is your friend's son located? Just made my order - super big grin It's pretty sad, I'm obsessed and haven't even done anything yet Thanks again Jeanie and Ravens!
  18. Thanks for your input guys! I've read many use 415 for the tarts. I'm thinkin maybe I will add a lil 416 and see what that does, and then of course try a few other combos. Jeanie, that makes perfect sense. I do have a feeling that will end up with both as I also plan to play arond with B&B as well. As far as selling, it's a thought but prob. would only be used for our charity walks since we do so many and I hate to ask people for $ all the time I see a lot like to add the paraffin, does it really make that big of difference? For both scent and workablity?
  19. New kid on the block, and there is soooo much to read out there! This forum has been awesome and I am excited to join. I almost spontaneously combusted from reading so much, I quickly became obsessed, but now I think I am ready A HUGE thank you to everyone on here offering a helping hand! It is my understanding that there are many factors for the perfect candle (correct me if I'm wrong), like if the stars are aligned right, the color of my underwear, which side I woke up on, full moon or not.....etc I plan to start with tarts using soy and finding my bff from there. With that being said, I am courious if anyone has compared HT of GB 415 & 416. I know they are essentially the same and will try myself , but wanted to know if anyone would like to share their thoughts Again, you guys ROCK! Thank you for this forum! Placing my order this week!!!
