  1. Okay...my sbuddy sent me a WONDERFUL 2lb soap mold and I want to use it.

My problem is....I have only done rebatch soaps but I want to make my own NOW!!!!...lol. I dont have alot of supplies but this is what I have: lard, grape seed oil, coconut oil, olive oil and lye....course I have fo and mica.

Is there a recipe I can use with any of these oils and if so...can someone PLEASE share it with me?

    Thanks in advance!!

  2. I found this but I dont know if it will help you:

Melt, then whip with any ordinary kitchen mixer. Apply with a spatula or pipe out with cake decorating bags and tips. 9 oz. makes about 3 cups of "frosting". Unused "frosting" can be saved for several months. May be colored and scented just like any other soap base.

  3. Hi, yup...for me candle making started being "my time"...once everyone was in bed I would stay up til 4am or 5am just making them away...very good way to relax!

Then I was bitten by the mold bug ....I started by buying silicone mold making material through candlewic....made some really cool ones. maybe check them out and see if silicone is the way you want to go.

    Good luck on your search!

  4. Funny you should mention your brother and soap. I do all rebatching...haven't got over being afriad of lye yet..LMAO.

So I get 5 pound blocks or 10 blocks of soaps.

I remember the 1st time I order a 5 pound block of goats milk soap and my brother came over while I was giving rebatching a try.

I had started by cutting the soap in workable pieces and my brother picked up a piece "whats this?"....I said goats milk soap. My goodness I thought he was going to throw the darn of soap across the room...lol...he was like YUCK...that is SO nasty...I still don't understand what is so nasty about.
