  1. I have a few questions about these. First, how stiff does the bear get when fully cooled? Will it hold it's sitting position??? Second, do you fluff the butt? Like, when it's sitting, do you fluff the bottom parts that sit on the table?? How much wax is supposed to be on the bottom? I kind of have alot on mine
  2. I hope so, because now I have about 15 lbs. of it left that I am wondering what the heck to do with since I don't have any pillar molds. I only have votive molds.
  3. Oh, duh. I just noticed in tiny printed it says for molded candles. I guess that explains why I can't get a full melt pool in my jars. Sorry, brainfart.
  4. So, from what I am reading on this and other threads on this wax, this is more for pillars or votives rather than containers?
  5. WOOHOO! Nice to meet you all! Maybe one of these days since we are all so close we could put together a bulk order and split the shipping if we could ever get enough people interested to make it worth the while.
  6. Very cool, quite a few AZ folks here. What area?? I am in San Tan Valley.
  7. Thank you all soo much! I will definately check them out! Eric, What do you mean about cost effective FO? That only having to use 4% is cost effective, or you have to use cost effective FO? Is the wax coming from China a bad thing??
  8. I was wondering if anyone would mind sharing the closest supplier for wax to save on the shipping cost. I looked in the supplier by state thread and found none in AZ.
  9. I really have no input here since I am so new to candle making.... However, I work in the medical field and I often have patients that have soy allergies. True allergies should be taken very serioously. Also, as a side note, if you ever are admitted into the hospital please do not tell them you have a 'allergy' when it is really just a dislike. It causes a whole chain of events that staff has to go through. LOL Also, on the humorous side... when reading your post when I got to the part about estrogen production and men, I got a visual of men with boobs sniffing candles.
  10. This is what I have been playing with trying to get the technique down. All of my candles have white spots all over them. I think that is mottling ?? Still trying to learn all of the lingo. The HT is low, like I can smell the candles, but not nearly as strong as I would think. I cannot wait to get some good wax!
  11. Found the book on both Amazon & ebay. I was able to order it for around $12 including shipping. Can't wait to get it! Thanks again!
  12. Thank you! I will look it up for sure!
  13. Thank you for steering me in the right direction! I have been reading the heck out of these forums for the past 2 days. I even caught myself reading it on my phone today at work in between patients!
  14. Can anyone recommend some really good guides. I am new to this whole hobby and really need to do A LOT of reading and studying. I found some pretty good ones on cajuncandles.com but would like to read a few others from different authors to get more than one perspective. Thanks in advance!
  15. OH NO! I already have a deep hole in my pocket! My daughter is a competitive cheeleader! Competitive Cheerleader = Broke Parents
  16. I just recently started dabbling in making my own candles. I have been pouring over this forum for over an hour now. I know I need to spend many many more hours reading and learning. Many of the abbreviations are lost on me, although I have been able to figure some out. But I just wanted to say that you all are a wealth of knowledge! Thank you for all of your guidance.
