  1. Hi folks,

I was just wondering what size and type jars do you put your sugar scrubs in and where do you get them? Is 16oz to much? I looked for something alittle smaller but all I can find is 8oz. Maybe I am just having a blonde day;)

    Thanks

  2. Dont mean to sound stupid but how exactly do you put the shrink bands on lip balm tubes? I have made a few for myself and was wanting to give some to my family and I got the bands but I am not sure how to do it. Sorry but I tried to do a search and came up with nothing so I figured I better ask...you never know if you dont ask right:tongue2:

  3. Ok,

I got alittle impatient and took it out of the mold:tongue2: but it came out very easy. I havent cut it yet....I will wait until tomorrow evening when I get home from work:D ....but I tell you I really like the way it looks so far. And it really was pretty easy. But I have a question...since I put it in the oven does that mean I can use it sooner or do I still have to wait? And how long do I have to wait? I know earlier I said I would try to be patient:whistle: but its hard to do. At least I will get to see what it looks like tomorrow right?

  4. I am so excited!!!! I just got done making my first cp soap:D I posted pics on the gallery. And wanted to tell TexasBrat....I used the insert from my crockpot and it worked great, I just melted the oils in a seperate pan and poured everything into my insert. Try it Texas it saves from having to buy the other pans.;)

  5. OK I just got done making my first actual CP soap....I have it in the oven now, I thought I would try putting it into the oven. It can out so much creamier than what I usually do which is CPOP. I scented it in Lovespell and tried to swirl, I used a Martha Mold so it was kinda hard but I am pleased:D

I will take pics again after I cut it. Thanks for everyones help on this;)

  6. Bunny, I think I know what your talking about I may have to check that out;) , I was also wondering if you could just take the insert out of the crockpot and try that? I usually do CPHP but would also like to try CP one more time. What do you think, would this work?

  7. Hey Cat,

I agree with Erika, use the store bought stuff for florida because the sun is stronger there, and when you get back you can try and make some stuff after you already have some sun. Plus that gives you more time to research and try out different recipes;)

  8. Hey Cat,

    Summary:

    Moisturizing Suntan Lotion

    Ingredients:

    Coconut Oil 2 oz

    Glycerin 4.5 oz

    Emulifying Wax 3 oz

    Water 38 oz (room temp)

    Sesame Oil 12 oz

    Cocoa Butter 2.5 oz

    Citric Acid 1 tsp

    GSE 2 oz

    Vitamin E 5 capsules

    Instructions:

Melt oils, cocoa butter and wax in double boiler over medium heat. Add citric acid. Remove from heat and place in large mixing bowl. With stick blender in motion slowly add water until well blended. Add glycerin and vitamin E. Cool slightly and add GSE. Add fragrance if desired. Put in containers.

    Summary:
    Tanning and Moisturizing Lotion

    Ingredients:

    4 oz distilled water

    1 oz cocoa butter (weighed)

    1 oz shea butter (weighed)

1 oz organic coconut oil (weighed)

    2 tablespoons emulsifying wax

    2 tablespoons hemp seed oil

    2 tablespoons meadowfoam oil

    1 teaspoon vanilla flavor oil

    1 teaspoon strawberry flavor oil

    Instructions:

Mix ingredients, less flavor oils, and heat to 180 degrees or better and hold it at the temp for 20 to 30 minutes. You will need to blend these several times during the heating cycle. I found an old "Home" milkshake maker that works great. It takes at least three times to insure the mix will not readily separate later. Allow it to cool to about 130 degrees before adding the flavor oils. Stir one last time and pour. This will make about 9 oz's of tanning lotion. I have had great feedback from the users. I make a Strawberry Sun Day and a Pineapple Sun Day. Both are well received.

  9. Kaybee,

Scrub is my next venture with the lemon. The cream is basically between a cream and a butter. At first it was real creamy and it has set up to be alittle stiffer but I really like it:D

Mystic.....yeah the word "curd" doesnt bring to mind a pretty pic does it, we'll have to figure out something else to call it;)

  10. I am in the process of making soap using my new samples of Londen Lemon Curd thanks to Mystic:D I couldnt wait to try it....had to come straight home and after dinner start making soap;) . I will post pics tomorrow after it comes out of the mold. At least making it at night keeping me from wanting to get into it so quick. I will make it and put it to bed till morning. Hopefully my hubby wont catch me sleep walking tonight:tiptoe: LOL
