  1. Let us know how it turns out! I've had softer soap at first when I've used lye water that had been sitting around for awhile. Just my experience; your mileage may vary! :)

Don't know why that be the cause?? I mix lye about once a month 1-2 gal at a time, use rt oils and add fo to the oils before the lye. Never noticed any difference in the soap

  2. I know in the past I made some rockin' butter bath nuggets. Simply melted shea over salt...viola. I think I tossed in some powdered milk too.

But has anyone take a dead sea mud bath?

Spa's charge an outrageous price to set in a tub full of mud:laugh2:

Don't think the small amount used in a bath would do anything but turn the water muddy. I have some balneo peat and added some to the wife's bath once, she liked the effect on her skin, but was put off by the dark brown

    n water:shocked2:

Never underestimate the power of label appeal

  3. I am so freaking mad!I made two batches of soap today, using my master batch. That is a great way to make soap, and quick. But both batches turned brown in the pot.I used Pomegranate Anise(love it)from BNL,and Black raspberry vanilla from Starville.I was going to do a red swirl in the PA batch, but did it solid.Had to vent,Thanks.

    Anna

    Vanilla will do that

  4. I'm in the middle of making a facial cleanser that calls for Olive Squalane (it also has olive butter and PEG 7 Olivate in it) what other oil can I sub for it?? I thought I had order some Olive Squalane but I didn't :undecided. TIA :)

There is nothing that will have the benifits of squalane. That said, any light oil will work

    I use squalane a lot
