VCO is $12# at my health food store

Man I don't get it. Shipping to KY for 20.00. I had a case of the jars, lids to go with them and 12 glass jars. Why in the heck did they want 60.00 from me? Now they are all gone:angry2: .
I beleive they charge shipping on individual items no matter how much you order. There have been a lot of complaints about WSP's shipping
-
Sound as thogh I got the last case. Sorry:embarasse

I have a lot of concern about the amount of pesticides used on cotton crops

Some water sources are high in minerals that could potentially cause problem. I've used both with no noticable difference

I ordered a case of the jars and it was $22 and change to KY

100% lard soap 0% superfat makes a good stain stick. I make 100% coconut liquid soap for laundry

LOL Gene. When I was a kid, my neighbor's had a housekeeper named Mamie. She was very radical for her day (1960's) . Wore men's jeans and plaid shirts only and was always collecting stuff for people she knew with troubles from her neighborhood. Mamie saved all the bacon drippings and other grease for soap. I remember watching her stir the pot as a little girl.
Thats how it was done, nothing wasted

That jar with lid was around $.58 at MMS

Wow, that is a great price!!

I used to help my grandmother make soap many moons ago. She just saved used grease, probably 95% lard

if you hold a straw across the opening of the fo bottle as you pour you can get a small stream that doesn't run down the side of the bottle. The liquid will run down the straw:D

Sounds right. Needs to be thick enough to suspend the sugar

I'm lost about what you mean with the label and using Monoi's name?
And, it looks great by the way, very classy.
There are specific requirement for using the Monoi seal (certificate de Appeliton (sp) )
If you follow the guideline and use the minimum percentage for a specific product you are allowed to use the seal on the product. Oil based products require 50%, soap 30%, etc
Monoi oil itself has to be 90%. hence the difference noted from different suppliers
-
If there are that many people wanting it, I can get Monoi from the same place Lynn does. And a little cheaper too:D

I have ABS from 3 sources, Agbanga is the best

I'm not looking to make tons of it. I'm just looking to make a few here and there for a few things.
I think it would be fun to do, but remember at 500/1 or 1000/1 it still would take a bunch just to make 1 oz

It takes 1000# of rose petals to get 1# Rose EO
-
Brenda, Looks good! If it contains 50% or more monoi you can use the Monoi seal on your product ( this is for an oil product)

Check out her "Polar Bear Purple"

Something that has not been addressed is % of superfat. Since no lye amounts were given this could be the problem. Also how much water was used? A high % of OO can produce a soap that is softer fresh out of the mold but will become rock hard after a good cure. I have made 100% lard soap that doesn't have any odor that isn't present with any other oil or combo. Smells like soap. Seems as though a lot of folks immediately blame the lard. Personal preference aside, it's hard to beat lard:thumbsup:

My opinion is the olive is causing the "stickiness" a long cure should take care of that. The smell could be from overheating or old oils
-
Try mixing 50/50 or 60/40 monoi/fco:D

Haven't had any wax eaten, but I have had a few bars of soap chewed on:laugh2:
