  1. we do facebook http://www.facebook.com/dandrapothecary and twitter @DandRApothecary We get about 15% of our sales through these since we normally offer sale discounts when we are at shows or special events through our pages. It is much easier to work with than a mailing list and lets you generate a buzz much easier.
  2. I had this exact same thing happen with the Butterfly Meadows FO from NG. Basicly it went from thin to full trace in about 10 seconds and the resulting soap cracked right down the middle. I normally pour around 125 and that was just way to hot for the FO. Ended up doing a second batch and pouring at around 90. It bought me about 5 more seconds (enough to get it into the mold properly!) and i just covered it with plastic wrap instead of my normal wood lid and blanket and it turned out good. Hope this helps!
  3. Here is the method that i have found works best for me 1) I use a 16 oz solo cup and put in 1 tsp of glycerin 2) i add 1/2 of mica (pops in this case) 3) I use a frother to mix it all up. got it at walmart.com for 10 bux http://www.walmart.com/ip/BonJour-Oval-Frother-with-Stand-Silver/14892514?sourceid=1500000000000003260370&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=14892514 4) once i have all my colors mixed up and smooth I mix in my lye and bring it to a very thin trace. 5) add about 14 oz of thin soap to the cups (you can use less for smaller batches) 6) mix it well with the stick blinder. 7) by the time you get it all mixed up your soap should be around medium trace. 8) pour in fragrance oil to unscented soap 9) do 1 pot swirl method or layer in mold! I had a lot of issues in the beginning because most of the pops can come out very light. I had a Honeysuckle that i was doing what i though was a light yellow , dark yellow , pink and bright red. It came out looking like yellow and orange not quite the pretty i was looking for lol
  4. Cinnamon & Balsam from natures garden during the holidays and Red Hot from NG every other time of the year both sale very well for us in soap room sprays and candles.
  5. I have tried several from different suppliers and the one i like the best is from bitter creek. http://cart.candlesupply.com/Blue-Sugar-Type-oz-pr-20311.html It is a very rich and robust mix much better than NG or BB It has a very high vanilla content so if your going to be making soap it will turn a very deep brown.
  6. I have received a lot of very similar offerings in the last week. Most look legit but it is insane for people to think I will give them 30+ items for free so they can put a small 150x150 image on their website for a month. Also no free samples here either
