  1. Thanks for the replies everybody. It is an interesting concept. The product I saw looks like it could be the soy wax or a mix with some oil in it to keep it like a lotion consistency.
  2. Has anybody heard of this or made any of this? I ran across this shop on Etsy that is selling it and you pump out of a bottle into your warmer. It's almost like a lotion consistency. It looks like a good product and is a little different.
  3. Omg I thought is was me...mine did the sinking thing too. I did most of my batches in silicone molds and they sunk down in the middle. They didn't look that bad so I just kinda let it go but then I poured some in some clamshells and they turned out horrible. The cold and hot throw seems to be ok but the appearance is just not the business. I almost done with the bag so I need to be figuring out something else soon.
  4. I agree that less is better. I do craft shows and I only take maybe 35% if that, of my products. First of all, its a pain trying to get all those items together for a craft show and second, lugging all that stuff back and forth can be hassle. Just make sure you have business cards or something so people can get in touch with you to order more and to see what else you have to offer.
  5. hahahahaha...thanks guys. After I talked to him I did turn my burner off. I didn't want to offend anybody but I am geeked about my HT!!
  6. How long did you whip it? The longer you whip, the softer it can get. I haven't used Mango butter before but if it is hard like Cocoa butter then you need to add more oils to soften your mixture. Coconut oil is good and I think it helps the mixture stay somewhat on the softer side than getting all hard.
  7. oh I'm not going to bash you for your opinion. I totally see what you are saying. I have been burning different ones for the past 2 weeks and I think this kind is the only one that has been this strong. My coworker in the office next to me made a comment that she has been liking my tarts but she is the only one so I just assumed they were average with the HT. There are only 4 people in my office and we are not shy about telling each other stuff hahaha
  8. The maintenance guy at my job asked me if I had been smelling like a sweet smell for the last couple days. Immediately I knew what he was talking about. I have been burning my tarts in my burner in my office. You can smell it all the way out in the hall by the elevators!! He said that even one of the other tenants on the floor asked him about the smell and he had said maybe somebody is making some type of sweet coffee hahaha. He was really intrigued when I told him what it was. I am glad that I am getting such awesome HT but is too strong to be smelling like this all in the suite and in the hallway??
  9. I love the half and half containers or any pint size milk carton. Just enough for around 3 bars of soap.
  10. Oh no I love WSP Black Raspberry Vanilla..it smells heavenly in soap and bath bombs. I made some tarts with it last week and they smell awesome too. I love their Green Tea and Cucumber as well and really don't want to find a replacement but these price hike are concerning me. I might try Peaks BRV when I run out.
  11. Thank you so much! I will have to check to see if they are open for business on Saturdays but one or two day shipping is great too.
  12. I am a novice at tarts but I think that pouring temp may be a little low. I don't know if it affects the HT or not. I am using that wax as well and have been pretty disappointed in the HT. I have tested it a few different ways to see if the HT will improve but I think once I use it up, I am gonna shop around for something else.
  13. hahahaha...I am not quite sure of that number or what suppliers are there but I know there are some in PA somewhere and that is roughly a 2 hour drive from where I am. I am seriously thinking about scoping some out and just taking a Saturday to go check it out. ETA: All of these are basically 3 hours or so away. Are any worth the drive? Keystone, CandleWic and Candle and Supply.
  14. BOOOOOOO!! hahaha..I am so jealous that many of you live by these suppliers. I think there are a couple almost 2 hours or so away from me.
  15. UGHH!! There is nothing I hate worse than a thief. My husbands credit card was compromised a few months ago too. Someone was using it in Georgia. He had visited there a month or so prior. The bank said using your credit card at those ATM's at gas stations and 7-eleven type places are not safe because it it easy to get credit card numbers or something. Luckily the bank caught it after a couple of transactions and put a hold on it but they were able to get something from Walmart and Home Depot I believe.
  16. I don't think its a paypal issue either. This has happened to me twice over the past couple of years but I think my cases were linked to things I bought from clothing stores. I hate when I want to order something and they don't use paypal. I have literally emptied my cart when I found out they only take debit and credit cards. I had read somewhere that employees of companies sell credit card numbers to be people. This is just scary. I would just be very careful about using your credit/debit card in general on websites even if it says they are on a secured network. There are crooks everywhere you turn.
  17. I am starting to regret that I ordered the KY because I am not getting the desired scent throw that I had hoped for. Do you think adding some more paraffin to it will help with the throw?

    Tarts/Melts

I go by the standard measurements as if I were making a candle. 1 to 1.5 oz per pound. I normally only make a half a pound of tarts at a time though so I only use half of that.
  19. Wow thank you so much for this idea. Anything to save a buck and extendi my supplies. I am really hoping I get the desired results I need from this wick/wax combo.
  20. Thanks Stella and Eric. I hadn't ran across any wick information regarding soy vs paraffin so this is some excellent advice. I am still waiting on the 4630 so I won't be testing until later this week.
  21. Thank you so much. Maybe I am just being paranoid. The wick just seems too big for the jar hahahaha..the site that I purchased the wicks from says they are for 2.5 to 3 inch diameter jars and the jelly jar is only 2 inches. I do have some half pint mason jars and the diameter is 2 inches as well. I think I will just go ahead and try it in the jelly jars.
  22. I ordered these wicks intending to use them on 4 oz jelly jars but someting is telling me it isn't going to work so I don't want to waste my time testing. I am thinking about going to the Dollar Tree tomorrow and picking up some container jars and was hoping I could get some suggestions on which ones to try. I will be using 70/30 or less of EcoSoya Advanced mixed with 4630. FO from Natures Garder Toffee Apple Crunch and Black Raspberry Vanilla from WSP. All suggestions will be appreciated.
  23. Has anyone used these recently? I am thinking about doing some testers in these jars with EcoSoya Advanced using CD wicks probably but am unsure of the size to get.
  24. Hi- I am new as you can tell but I have been reading and researching the information on here for the last month or so. I finally decided to get some wax and dig in. I purchased the Ecosoya CB Advanced because I found a really good deal on it. I made some tarts a week or so ago with it and I used two different scents from 2 different companys and they both seem to be working really well. I did add coconut oil and vybar to help with the HT. I burned them for the first time last night and I could smell them on the 1st floor of my home and the burner was on the second floor. I do plan on trying the KY parasoy to do a comparison.
