  1. I use 100% soy wax with no dye so I put potpourri in the lids of my keepsake jars for the color.
  2. I used it for about one year and I always used HTP wicks. They worked great.
  3. I really like your website! It just looks great.
  4. *s 'greehoeaf 70/30 in flake form or is ia slab?
  5. You would just design and buy labels (avery or whatever brand) according to the sizes you need for your candles and print them using your computer and printer. Microsoft Word already has some templates and you can also download templates.
  6. I agree. Can you give me the info on the dye you used also? I'm also interested in the pouring temperature you used for the candle. I got a sample yesterday and am going to give it a try.
  7. That is really neat!! How do you learn how to do something like that? Are instructions anywhere on the internet?
  8. That sounds like an interesting idea so I'm going to try it. I'm also going to try adding the FO to the hotter wax when I add the color. Thanks for sharing your idea.
  9. What is the general consensus on when it is better to add FO - at a higher temperature or at a lower temperature? Would appreciate input very much.
  10. I use two HTP 105's in most of the candles I make in 16 oz. apothecary jars and they work great. However, that was with a different soy wax so I'm not sure how they would work with the 464 wax.
  11. Thanks everyone. I think I'll try them both.
  12. Does anyone have any idea where I can get a Birthday Cake FO that will work in soy wax? I have a customer who wants to order 8 container candles every month in this scent (a Real Estate Broker) and I don't have any idea where to get it. Thanks for any suggestions.
  13. I've tried it and got a good cold and hot throw. My problem was frosting but if you temper it as Jason suggested, that practically eliminates the frosting.
  14. It is my opinion that it is well worth the effort it takes to make candles from soy wax and to contend with the sometimes frustrating characterists it exhibits simply because paraffin is a product of petroleum refining. There is a hugh advantage over using a product that is made from an American grown resource that has absolutely nothing to do with petroleum.
  15. Has anyone used Tony's FO's in 100% soy wax? If so, do you have any recommendations? I didn't know about Tony's until I saw the thread here and it is close enough that I could pick up or at least shipping wouldn't be as much. Any help would be appreciated.
  16. Do these FO's work well in soy wax? Thanks for info.
  17. I saw the thread on FO's from Tony but it mostly seemed to be regarding B&B. How are the FO's in soy wax? This would be a supplier from which I could pick up my FO's and save on shipping. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  18. Sorry, I meant Kerry. It is a great list.
  19. Thanks everyone! Vicky, I had forgotten about the list but that is very good and much appreciated.
  20. Looking for FO recommendations from Lonestar for Soy wax. I'm ordering some containers from them and thought I would try a couple of FO's. Thanks.
  21. BCN has a great strawberry. Good throw in soy.
  22. I guess we're going to have to wait for Jason or someone to let us know because I've always thought like you that the wax had to be heated a lot higher than 125 degrees to get the FO to blend. The scent throw didn't seem to be as good when I tried tempering the wax but I'm thinking it could just be my imagination because I had always thought it had to be heated more.
  23. If you temper the wax and add FO at 125 degrees does this have a detrimental affect on scent throw? It would seem to me that the FO would not be thoroughly incorporated into the wax. I tried this and it does help with frosting, however, I don't seem to have the scent throw (cold and hot) that I had with candles made without tempering the wax. I used 3 drops of red liquid dye in 8 oz. of wax and the only frosting I had was a little on the side facing an open window and on the bottom for some reason I couldn't figure out. The top was absolutely perfect - smooth and creamy with no frosting.
