I idea behind this is to get us sharing with each other our tips and tricks to do something or maybe share a new idea on how to do something.

How to create an Ad for your business?

Welcome to the Board

Thanks Chuck

It is not meant to be used in wax, DOA Dioctyl Adipate is a plasticizer you do not want to burn that stuff it will make you sick as all get out.
-
If the FO is just sitting open it is dissipating. Think about the little thing you hang in your car they. They are a material soaked in FO once it is out of the package the scent starts to disappear it does not take long before it is all gone and you have to buy a new one.
Wax is not like clothe or other porous materials you can infuse. When you melt the wax and add the FO you are in not infusing you are incorporating. Once you incorporate the FO in to the wax it is there till you melt it and release the smell in to the air, in candles it burns and the wax is the fuel for the wick to burn and as a result the melted wax releases the scent. In a wax melt you put in a melter it melts the wax and releases the scent. It is not releasing the oil just the smell.
I hope that made sense.

Beeswax is fun, here is a few things I do with it.
I add 3 to 5% to soy wax it makes for smoother tops I also just like they way it looks.
I love to condition my thread with BW for beading. It keeps the thread from fraying while beading.
I mix 50% BW with 50% mineral oil for my Hubby to use in his wood working he like to use that to polish his bowls.
I keep a bit around for sticky drawers.

Hi, folks!
Have you noticed we have a couple new sections? You already know about SOTM but wait til you read about THIS ONE! It's gonna knock your socks off!
Each month a Moderator will intro a new topic and then we'll toss the ball to you. We want you to share your favorite tips and tricks for each topic.
With so many talented folks in our midst I know we'll all have lots to share. Each and every one of us uses techniques that we've developed through trial and error. Maybe your tip will be an eye-opener for someone who has been struggling, or maybe someone will share a technique or idea that you've been wishing for yourself. By working together everyone will benefit.
To get the ball rolling, please reply to this thread with your ideas and suggestions of what we should discuss. Let's make it a wide array of topics. Many of our ingredients can be used for both candle and soap making but they have other uses too. The possibilities are endless, so I encourage you to think beyond candles and soap. If we pool our knowledge and resources we can find even more fun ways to use our ingredients.
So come on now, don't be shy! Reply to this thread today! What topics would you like to see addressed?
Once the topic of the month has been announced, jump in and share your expertise. You just may have the solution or technique that has eluded someone for ages, and in turn you're sure to learn lots of new things yourself.
FYI: To keep things orderly only a moderator can actually post a new thread in this section. We'll make sure each topic is easily searchable and these threads will never close.
This section will become your library of tips and ideas, a handy reference that will continue to grow as new topics are added.
In the months and years ahead please continue to post additional thoughts and tips to any of these topics.

I had to go look I did not realize no one had talked about other shapes for melt in a long time. I love using silicone mold for melts. My main problem was designing packaging for them. That is struggle because people will not buy them unless they can see them.

Size is your issue with soap molds mold, soap mold are 3 plus ounces. Why are you limited to break a ways? You can use silicone molds to make wax melts you will find a ton of info on here where people use silicone molds to make melts.
