How do you guys shrink wrap your products? Im looking for a shrink wrapper but all the ones Im finding are way too big and way too expensive. Can you guys tell me what kind of shrink wrap machine you use and what you paid for it? Possibly where I can find one also? Im doing a show in October and I would love to be able to shrink wrap my candles. Thanks so much for your help!

Im looking for a small shrink wrap machine and all the ones Im finding are too big and too expensive. Does anyone have a small one that they didnt have to pay an arm and leg for? Also, is there anyother way to shrink wrap without a machine, such as purchasing the shrink wrap and using my heat gun to seal it? Thank you so much.

Here is a pic of one if anyone has never seen a sand cast candle

I dont use straight parrafin for my containers but if it were me, I'd probly go with the 2281. It sounds like a good wax. JMO.

You could try sticky wax, Peak has it if you dont have any.

I wrapped it in tape and its doing fine...i'll use this one for now, but will keep a very close eye on it.

Thats something I learned when I first started making candles, never to burn a container candle and then re-use the jar (or sell the jar) . I remember reading something about the glass cracking from re-use. I never researched it tho, I just decided that I wouldnt re-use jars, just to be on the safe side.

Thank you Carol
My boyfriend's dad is an electrician and he said what Beth said - as long as the individual wires are still in their coating and not touching all you need to do is re-wrap in some electrical tape.BUT if the wires are touching you'll probably just end up with a smokin' wire so be on the lookout for that. After you wrap it and use it - give it a feel to see if it's hot there. If it is - well gotta buy a new one!

Thanks for all the compliments! Now Im ready to try layers!! Woot!

Agreed :highfive:
If someone has had a negative experience with them, whynot post that experience here? To pm someone with that info doesn't save the rest of us!Thanks

I believe glass weakens when it gets hot so repouring and reheating the glass could cause it to crack.

I've never ordered from them, I just did a search online and thats what I came up with. Im glad someone here knows something about them. I'd hate to be the reason you had a bad experience.

LOL..Um...yeah. I think a holster on my hip would hurt a lil, lol. I dont have a work shop really. Well, I do but it has a fridge, stove, sink, all that stuff. Some may call it a kitchen. To me, its no longer a kitchen

I usually use the ugly ones for testers and if i dont need to test it, i'll just keep it for myself or give it away.

I wish I had melted something else that maybe wasnt so important, lol. Just not MY HEAT GUN! I cant really spend the 25.00 right now for a new one. I've maxed myself out buying candle supplies since I got my DBA and am trying to get myself ready to start selling.

I dont see any copper or anything, its white underneath so I assume that the wires are still coated??

Last night when i was cleaning my molds and stuff, after I was done using my heat gun, I sat it upright on the counter. Apparently it was touching the cord and I didnt realize it. It melted the rubber on the cord and now I have wires exposed. Can I just wrap that spot with electrical tape or do I need to just buy a new heat gun? Please help
Thanks!

You need a high mp wax to make hurricanes. Im not sure which votive wax you are speaking of or what the mp is but it needs to be at least 150 mp and I dont know of any votive waxes that have a high mp like that so I would not advise using it.
