  1. Hi guys, wanted to post pics of my testers. I think they are all good except for maybe the green one. I may need to go one size up on this one. The chunk ball is burning really well...after 3 hrs of burning, its not even running down the sides. It tried to and you'll see in the 2nd pic, the wax hardens before it runs all the way down. The blue jar candle is awesome...its burning all the way to the edge, consuming the entire candle. Please let me know what you all think of these and if you think I should wick up on the green one. Its a 3.5" round and used an LX22.

First pics are the chunk ball

  2. Im right there with ya sista. I just got all that stuff a little bit ago. Now im in research hell for business cards, letter head, price sheets and more testing! oh what fun the business side of things are....lol

Meeee tooooo! I bought labels and business cards at Home Depot..gonna TRY to do them myself on my moms printer.. but being as "professional" as I am...if they look fugly, I'll fork out the xtra $$ for the better ones. Gotta get pouring and testing...Im expecting at least another month before I actually start trying to sell!!!

  3. LOL..get rich? ok, how do i do that? I figured I would go around to some small businesses in my area first and go from there. I know of a discount cigarette store that will probly order some from me. Anyone know of any other good places to try? I have so much to do!! Business cards, brochures, price sheet, labels...ugh...its very overwhelming right now. I spent 120.00 at Office Depot today getting stuff I felt like I needed.

My DBA is "SCENTFUL SCENTSATIONS" I hope nobody on this board is using that name, I know nobody in my county is using it. Yes, I am so excited!

  4. This idea came to me after a failed marble attempt last night. It still isnt perfected but...you get the idea. There are alot of surface blemishes because I basically whipped the wax and poured it very cool into a room temp mold. I did heat the outside of the mold after i poured but still got alot of..holes..basically. Not bubbles, just little spots where there is no wax. Next time I will pour the wax hotter to get a smoother, shinier finish. LOL, I asked hubby what he thinks about it (cause im a dimwit) and he responded with an "...eh..." I like the design but it does need a lil perfecting. Now to figger out what to burn this baby with! Thanks for looking!

  5. Very true..I've only been doing this for a year and Im sick of testing. Experimenting is fine..gives me new ideas..I just dont like unmolding a beauty and having to burn it. Oh well...better to be safe than sorry!

  6. I like your ball candle very much.....but.....why did you choose to use vybar 260? It is recommended for waxes with a mp of under 130. Container candles. If I want mine to be smooth and creamy looking and not mottled I use a little vybar 103 for waxes with a mp over 130. I try to use the least amount of an additive as possible to achieve the results I want. I usually (and I say usually) add 1/2 to 1 tsp. vybar 103 pp of wax.

But I still like the way your candle looks. Nice job. Donita

Well, unfortunately the MP of this wax is unknown. Its a wax from a local supplier and its their own special blend and if you go to their website, it will say N/A under "MP" I have vybar 260 and 103..but not knowing what the MP is, I decided to try the 260 and see what it gets me. I normally add whatever is recommended as far as the amount...1 tbsp pp wax, but lotta times when I do that, the wax will still mottle or I'll get some surface bubbles or something. So I used more this time to try and make sure that I get a perfect surface and I did! I havnt burned it yet tho...still gotta see if my LX-22 is gonna be the right size.

  7. Got up a lil bit ago and they all have horrible wet spots. I poured the wax cool, heated the containers, they were clean..dont know why this happened. The wax is J223....I probably wont be doing many containers for this show..lol

  8. Ahh, well, I could be mistaken about the ounces. I bought them a long time ago and the box isnt marked or anything, and I went back to the suppliers website where I got them from and it doesnt say how many ounces it holds. I checked the handy calculators on CT and the jar weighs 6 oz empty and 13 oz filled with water and the calculator says it will hold 6 oz wax.

  9. The only thing I can think of is maybe his favorite color pillar scented with his favorite food/cologne scent. Or maybe just do a smelly jelly for his car if he likes his car to smell good. Im sorry I cant help ya more..my hubby would cry if I gave him a candle for his birthday and Im not talking tears of joy either! ROFL Good luck anyway!
