Hey all,
I am brain storming for products that I can add to my line for the
fall/winter season. Projects that my be easier to make time wise.
I have searched the board and archives for potpourri fixins and not much discussion on this topic.
Are these a thing of the past for decoration?

I'm hereby abandoning my elephant patties project. The market is getting saturated with crap.
:laugh2:
Only you top!!!! funny

Yes they will. You can also use boxes lined with freezer paper.
So would you have to line the glad plastic containers?

New to this soap thread,
Looking at the prices of real molds.
I couldn't help to wonder if the
Glad, Rubbermaid, ect...... throw away storage containers could work
as a soap mold?
Heat proof, FDA approved, lids,
What do you think?
Remeber I know nothing................... LOL

I try and combined my order to get the 8% discount
http://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com/WaysToSave.aspx
This helps.
I also compare with one other supplier using their cart and I have found that if I meet the 8% discount reqirement at WSP that was close enough to the other suppliers charges for shipping.
WSP is like going to Wal-mart for me at this time one stop shop. However I don't like the shipping charges so I have to order larger quanities.
But I am always looking for a better price.
Hope this helps,
Brooke

Terrible me, I ordered 30 of her 1 oz. and 5 of her 8 oz. and then a lb. of her white grapes (that is fantastic)! Oh well, you can't go wrong with her scents. I eventually want to try all of her scents. I will probably end up ordering more while the sale is on, but I'm going to try to refrain myself.:rolleyes2
HA!HA!
Yes I am terrible too.
I ordered 30 samples too.
Think we can convince Becky to keep her sidewalk sale going just one more week? It is so hard to pass up those good sale prices. LOL
By the time I get my samples the sale may be over.

Has anyone found the scent in corn cob or vermiculite to change over time?
I have some different scents in different containers that have been sitting for months and when I opened them to use them most of them smell bad. They don't have the same scent anymore.
I also sell refresher oil with my car bags. That way the customer can re-scent the bag when the scent fades.
I have had one FO to change in the Corn Cob mix ( Tommy Girl )
Did your Vermiculite change also?

I would recomment going as small as a baby food jar. I make them for all our cars. We learned this by accident. My grandson took a votive out of my bag. W put it in his drink cup, which fell under the seat. The car smelled like blackberry. My favorite candle. When I found where the smell was coming from. I started telling customers to take votives and do the same. I then made wickless ones in 4 oz containers. I used jelly jars and punched holes in them. Just make sure they don't tip over. During the summer it does get very hot in the car and will melt the wax. so I put the jar in a small plastic container under the car seat. tape up the holes if its too strong
Tape up the holes if its too strong/
That is the kind of freshener I like .
Where is the best place to buy gel wax.
All the prices I have found are really high.

I used Eco Wicks in one, and CD's in another and still got ZERO hot throw. I moved these later (which I hadn't previously mentioned), into a small, 10x10 bedroom and still got no throw whatsoever. I stand by my statement that this was was hugely disapointing, in terms of its hot throw.
Well I too would be disappointed no doubt!!
-
Just a thought I know we all have different ending results.
But I have noticed in my testing ( NOT THIS WAX SOY PRO)
But in others
the wick choice determined the better Hot throw.
I did a side by side wick test in my wax and the wicks really made a difference.

Hello,
There will be others to help you with your question that has the experience.
I just had a thought on your label issue.
Can you place your label under your shrink wrap?
If this is how you package your product.
Not so easy to peel off a label if it is under wraps LOL
If you don't like the price of wholesale consider cosignment since she is local.
Good Luck !

Hi,
That is something like I was thinking about. But I would like to figure out
how to make a freshener that doesn't rely on the sun or air flow to release the scent. I will just have to test to see how well they work.
Looking at the gel wax price ( it is much higher than I thought )
Thanks I am still pondering. LOL
I guess what I meant was, not to have to set the air freshener right by the vent say maybe under the seat
Would that still have enough air flow?

Oh wow are we on the candle wealth thing again..lol That program is such a disgrace to true candlemaking IMO..such a shame that people fall into all that bull:rolleyes2
Wealth, For who ???
I have written so many checks but none to myself yet LOL
I must be training myself for that big fat pay check LOL:rolleyes:
Everytime I get any money it just goes back to the business.
Good thing I have self control LOL
All I have to says is always try something NEW if you really enjoy stick to it!
Have fun

Hi,
There is a really nice website that makes the gel air freshener and candles. It is www.pebblecreekcandles.com Is that similar to what you want to do? I haven't purchased any candles, but I have purchased some ceramic/pottery items.. Good Luck!!

Hi Vicky,
That is exactly what I wanted to make in a tin.
How strong are they?
-
Hi Gel users,
I know nothing about the gel wax.
Searched the threads and Newbie info. link and I can't find a answer to my question.
I had a idea of making air freheners in containers ( like water crystals ) but I was thinking of using gel wax.
Could this experiment work?
I wasn't sure how strong of a cold throw gel wax can have. I see the Fo load is low.

My aroma beads are in an organza bag in New Orleans with 95* so a locked up car in direct sun would get around 160*+ and mine fused into one large lump; but no outside the bag melting. Still smells good tho and I made this about 3 months ago.
Hi New OrleansLady,
How are you doing down there ???
Are things coming together after the terrrible Hurricane Season.
I have offtend wondered about everyone down there.
We don't get anymore information on the news up here.
Thanks for letting me know about the Aromas.
Our vehicle doesn't set outside all day in a parking lot.
And I believe the melt pt. on the beads was 200 Well I know the flashpt. is 200.
Have a great day

way, way too much vybar. Too much vybar makes wax wrinkle on top, somtimes referred to as shark skin. 1-2% is usually more than enough..if not, add micro wax instead of additional vybar...not as $$$, accomplishes the same thing, and won't ripple.
brad
Hey Brad,
Where can we purchase the Micro. Wax inplace of using vybar?
-
Thanks for sharing
I will be testing soon
-
Has anyone tested the aroma beads in a car during the hot summer
months.
I wasn't sure how hot a car gets during the day
Wonder if they may get soft in the heat.

Very Nice
I see you are also TM
I am in the fine process of filing for a true TM
A lot to stuff to read because I was going to file a TEAS form online.
Can't make a mistake or I will have to pay for it again. LOL *getdown*
I am feeling much better about investing into a laser printer.
I will watch for sales these next few weeks. The adds came out today.
-
Thanks Brenda,
You gals have me ready to run out and shop for a LASER PRINTER LOL
It is a big decision. I may pick up another Wholesale account here soon and the last thing I like doing if I am in a pinch on time is fixing the printer.
I would like to print quanitities ahead and file them away.
I print my own brochures too and I have found it takes a lot of time on my deskjet plus the color issue.
Where do you buy your refills for your laser printers at?
I Need a small sample of gel wax ??

Can you tell me where to find a small sample of gel wax? for testing
Versagel® C HP:Heavy density- used mainly to suspend heavier objects.
:tiptoe: so far they are all larger quantities than I would like to just test with.
Always appreciate your thoughts
