  1. Kay did a great job posting her technique for doing this and that's what I used--thanks again, Kay. I I thought about a votive glass, but I really like seeing the flame. I've found plenty of plastic tea light cups. Can someone point me in the direction of the glass ones:confused: TIA
  2. Thanks Kay. I inserted the plastic tea light cup in the candle. So, when the tea light burned the tab was left. Hmmm I wondered if I could get a tea light cup large enought to hold the plastic one. Thanks again. I'm off to order some glass tea light cups. I LOVE THIS BOARD!!!!!
  3. Good morning, I've been drooling over everyone's forever candles and finally tried them--I don't think I'll ever wick a pillar again. But, I was just wondering what kind of feedback you've received from customers. Has anyone had a problem with removing the old wick tab to insert a new tea light? How are they selling for you? So far I've had good feedback from the people I've shown them to. Most really like that the candle design doesn't get ruined. A few others couldn't grasp the concept--some folks don't like change to the status quo. I see so many design possibilities--I've got to get more wax. TTIA
  4. I love your setup and how you used the chalk boards--very, very nice--Congratulations!
  5. I've been wanting to attend a conference for the longest time, but most are so far away. I live in DE so this is PERFECT--can't wait. Thanks so much for doing this.
  6. WOW!!! Thanks for sharing.
  7. Just had to say that I love CP soap. By the way, Keniasoapboutique, I checked out your site--I LIKE IT!!

  9. Thank you all so much for your replies. This weekend I'm going to experiment and try a mix of castor, coconut, olive, rose hip and jojoba.
  10. Hi Everyone, I want to make an oil to cleanse my face. I have searched and searched for information and I haven't come up with anything. Well, I did find a list of oils that were non-clogging. I just need for someone to point me in the right direction to be able to attempt to formulate something I can use. Any help would be so greattttly appreciated. TIA
  11. Thanks Susan. My granddaughter has terrible eczema. I've been reading a lot about different herbs and I wanted to incorporate some of them in my soap and get the most benefit out of them that I can to help relieve some of her itching and dry skin. I'm off to order some supplies so that I can get started. Thanks again for your reply.
  12. Hello everyone! I've been reading about rebatching and was curious to know if any of you use this method. Over the weekend I melted some soap shreds I had from trimming my CP soap and remolded it. I haven't taken it out of the mold yet, but I was wondering are there advantages to rebatching vs. CP. Is there a benefit to adding the yummies (honey, oatmeal, milk, etc.) to the rebatched soap vs. adding to the CP soap before the saponification (sp?)process? TIA
  13. This recipe is really great. Mine are a little grainy as well, but that works perfect for me. I roll them out and then use a cookie cutter to cut them.
  14. Wow! Your cookies look great. The chocolate chips look very real to me--I thought the Keebler elves had dropped by.
  15. I don't reply very often, but your candle is awsome. I love creative people who think out of the box.
  16. Hi Jade, I'm new at rebatching CP soap, but what I've learned so far is that if the batch is at least two weeks old or older, it is already soap and you just need to rebatch and pour into your mold, allow it to harden and then it's ready to use. If you're going to rebatch an uncured batch, it will have to go through the curing process. Someone with more experience please chime in.
  17. Has anyone used "Save on Scents"? TIA
  18. Good morning all. Can someone tell me how you dip the cane. I mean, how do you hold on to it to dip it in the wax.
  19. I made Bunny's recipe using the mini muffin pan. I use one in my son's standard bath tub and two in our garden tub. I added TRO to the recipe to help with the ring around the tub. So far, no ring and my testers just loved them. I include them in all my gift baskets.
  20. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but, everything I have read says that you are not to color cyclo.
  21. I'm still working on this recipe. I'm not sure yet if I really like it. I've been using one bottle and letting it set in another to see what will happen over a little time. It's really thick so I'm working to get it thinned out more. I'll keep y'all posted. Thanks
  22. Thanks for replying. I made a batch with alcohol and I'm waiting for it to cool. Actually, this is my second batch. The first batch go too thick. So, I'm giving it another shot. I tried watering it down, but I want to know exactly what combination of what works. I'll post the recipe if it turns out okay. Thanks again.
  23. Has anyone tried the shower gel from WSP? It's on my sample list?
  24. Hi Everybody. I found a recipe for liquid soap and it calls for 1 teaspoon of vodka. What does the vodka do and can I sub regular alcohol for it? TIA
