perfect fall colors, way to go

usually i clip my wick before each lighting. My shrooms usually dont get overly big while burnign, unless i burn for more than 4 hours at a time.

Carrie,
Are you still using it? I will get the order on thurs and try this weekend. Might have questions then if you don't mind.:rolleyes2:confused:
Thanks,
Linda
I have never used the organic one. Is that what you are reffering too>?
-
FYI, to be able to call something organic, means that the manufactorer paid the extra costs and fees in order to get special licensing and permission to call it "organic" in order to benefit from the marketing of it. This does not mean that every other wax or product out there, is not organic or has definatley used pesticides while growing.
I have used the ACCU 10 with great results. As well as Calwax CB3.

This is pretty easy... if you are using 1 oz. of FO per pound, then simply use half of one kind of FO and half of the other kind. If you are not pleased with the result, decrease the one that seems too strong and increase the amount of the other one.
I simply put my pour pot on the scale, tare and add the FO in the amounts I desire. If it's 50-50, I add 1/2 oz of one, then 1/2 oz. of the other. Easy-peasy.
If you want to see how two (or more) FOs blend together, put one drop of each on a Q-tip, put both Q-tips in a plastic bag, seal, shake, then open and smell the combined fragrance.
I like blending cinna vanilla by using one part cinnamon to two parts vanilla.

are they crystal looking flakes? some fragrances have a thing with crystalizing in the colder months of the year.

very cute, love your cans.
You should change the name of the scent that the reindeer feed comes in. Sounds odd that you want to feed the reindeer some reindeer poo.
-
great looking stuff.

Barbara, are you having any problems with ash on the tops of your soap?

it seems the two most popular ways to bleach the wax are to use natural sun bleaching ot chemical bleaching.

I was just about to say $60.
Awesome, glad you got that.

That's a great thing to do but I had to giggle....fundraiser for fire dept and they sold candles! Talk about job security for the guys! :laugh2:I'm sorry I know fires aren't funny but it just hit be that way! It's like selling candy as a fundraiser for diabetes research!
I was thinking the same thing.

Check this one out
that video should be pulled from youtube.
Here is one for how to make soy pillar candles.
Look, CandleScience has a video too.

cranberry citrus looks pretty red to me.

I would say that it is pretty close. Looks the same to me. Great job

Very thoughtful of you.

totally cute

Red brick oxide isn't too bad and red and blue oxide (think that's what it is) isn't too bad either, but they fail at a bright red.
I second that. Brick Red Oxide will give you that dark brick red, but if you are looking for a cherry or strawberry red, good luck.

the Jackolaterns are waaaaaay cute.

Oh GAWD - if you could SEE the batch my partner made a couple of months ago... Sure wasn't cold weather! She did not pay attention to the temps at which she was pouring, etc., even though we have a procedure card to follow (in case of brain fade...). She's young. :rolleyes2 I thought about choking her. :rolleyes2
But you're right - cold temps cause a TON of frosting issues with soy waxes. Paying close attention to air temp and pouring temps at this transitional time of year can make things go a LOT smoother! We add color year round, so controlling frosting is very important to the ultimate appearance of our candles.
Tis true, there are alot of different factor that make them frost. Shoot, a dirty look can make them frost.

Right after my HP died about an hour later this guy walks in my shop - I told him about it. He had an almost new Canon in his trunk. Traded him for some candles. I love it! Can't remember what model but it's a photo all in one
wow, talk about an instant blessing from the man above. great story

did you see that cabin in Rio De Janeiro where he gave a soap workshop? I would live to take a workshop class there.
