  1. I highly recommend DIYeStores.... I have my site thru them and the customer service is fantastic.. Lots of excellent websets to choose from. Just my 2 cents:D I have the link to them on my site in the links page

  2. I have the business account thru PayPal, and the fee's are not that bad. I had a 65.00 order this weekend and the fee was less than $2.50. It is really nice to be able to accept CC's online. As my business advances I will probably also get a merchant account. Anyway, just my 2 cents worth

  3. there is a very small amount of coding, but they give you all of the ones you need... basically if you want to put extra graphics and things in.... you should take a look at some of the sites..... clik on my link at the bottom, then go to my links page..... there is a DIY link there...

  4. How long till ya can start working on your site after you sign up at DIY??

    Patricia

On average, from the time you pay for your first quarter hosting, (60.00) and buy your webset, it generally takes about 3-5 working days for them to send you your email with your admin stuff from DIY, and about the same from whoever you buy your webset from.... hope that answers your question :grin2:
  5. Yes CandleGuy I was referring to you - 3 weeks seems good to me. Was it hard to do?

its easy if you take it in the steps that they give you. If you jump around then it tends to get overwhelming... take it from me...lol... I think I put a little over 40 hours in it total, but that was from start to finish... :)

  6. I also signed up thru DIY eStores, and I have to say, I am nothing but pleased with what I have gotten so far. The customer service is top notch.. while your building your store, if you run into a snag, you usually get a reply within 15 minutes on the help forum. I would HIGHLY recommend them. If you have any questions please feel free to drop me a line.. I will answer what I can :D

  7. I agree with the other 2 posts, its probably gonna be alot less stressful to just melt it back down. If not, its alot of trying to fish the wick up thru, and it may or may not cooperate... frustrating, but unfortunately it happens:)

  8. Thanks to everyone. I am going to go with DIY. Becky i did use your name. So I think that you get one month for free.

I hope i can get this done in a timely fashion. I know nothing about this so this will be a big challange.

I will post the site when i get it done.

    KAty

If ya get in a snag, give me a shout..... I just got done with all mine, so I may be able to talk ya thru anything that goes wrong..... if not the help forum is awsome

  9. I use DIYestores and would highly recommend them! They include a full e-commerce package for $20 a month. Lots of people from here have gone over to them, as well. PM me if you want the site addy. :)

DITTO...... I just got my site up and running..... customer service is FANTASTIC, and the websets are very easy to work with.... I give a definately thumbs up

  10. Wow.......I sure am glad to see the answers so far to this post. I'm sure I will get slammed again, but this subject was brought up awhile back, and I asked my cousin (who is also a fire chief in a small town) about the safety of firestarters. I asked about the safety of the pinecone firestarters and he said BIG NO NO, don't do them!! The creosote builds up in your chimney VERY quickly and sticks to the sides, making it very dangerous. Now I realize (as was pointed out rather rudely) than ANY candle or ANY fire requires common sense and "using them wisely". According to MORE THAN ONE fire chief, there IS no safe way or "using wisely" way to use them, since you don't KNOW how much build up is up in the chimney! They convinced me not to use them at all. I then asked about the sawdust mix with wax (after all, I figured, hey, it's wood) and was told these would be SLIGHTLY better IF I insisted on using them at all, but no more than one a week, and ONLY if the chimney was checked regularly. Instead of taking any chances, I've only made them for using on campfires when we go camping. Altho pretty.....who really wants to take the chance, after talking to several fire chiefs, I don't. Please don't shoot the messenger.

Having been a fireman for well over 17 years, I dont always agree with the ol timer fire chief's. The amount of wax and wood chips or whatever you use is too small of a quantity to cause you too much trouble. Granted, you have to keep your chimney's clean, but the start wont cause that much of a buildup on shortterm use. Almost all of the residue will burn up within a short period of time.... I do agree tho, use common sense... and you should be ok... and fortunately, my aim aint what it used to be..... so the messenger is safe ;)
