it was rude for that person to ask that, so I would be polite, and send him to a few boards to read up on it... that way you arent giving up your information, but not being considered stand offish.... JMHO

those look really cool... add me to the list .... I would like to give these a shot....

Nature's Garden carries a cinnamon bun FO that is really good. You mite check around and see if any other supplier carries it HTH

I used a soy blend wax, and its a little harder to wick. What size wick and what size container did you use? It definately sounds like you need to use a bigger wick..

those look awsome.. I like em.

I use the 6228 for both pillars and votives, and I do use zinc on my votives, and never have that drowning out problem. I use Flat and Square braid on my pillars, but they are still in the experimental stage for me. I am glad to know I can use 1.5oz pp as I was under the assumption ( I know I know...assume) that I could only use 1oz pp..

I have ordered a few small items from em, but that was before they had the family medical problems that got them so far behind. I didnt have any problems, but a few others on this board have... I would wait to hear back from em on how far behind they really are... JMHO

Greetings and Welcome
Alot of people use Peaks, and I agree, its a good company. Just to put some info out there tho, Natures Garden has a few good kits as well..... that is where I got my start.. but I would suggest looking around and finding one that suits your needs.... JMHO

To the best of my knowledge, I am planning on starting some pillars for testing. These things are still new to me and I want to make sure I have it down. I may also do some testing on J223 as its a new wax for me. I am switching from my JOY wax mainly due to shipping costs. Other than that I figure thats gonna be it.

I would think you could use Cinnamon Stick and Angel Wings as they are. Unless you wanted to change Angel Wings to something closer to xmas... JMHO

thanx for the reply. thats what I was thinkin but wanted to double check before I ordered some.. :highfive:

ok... my turn for a wick question. I am experimenting with flat and square braid wicks for my pillars. I am goin to try square next, and the mold size suggests #1 square braid. Now here is where I am confused. Several places show a 1/0 and a #1.... whats the difference? They both show good for 3" pillars... im so confused.. which isnt hard lately...lol.... any help would be greatly appreciated.

Personally I like playing with the hot wax.. but thats a different story

I use HTP 104 and I have not had that problem. Maybe it is your wick supplier. Try a different vendor for your wicks...can anyone suggest one? I get my wicks from Early American Candle.
Tri-State Candle supply has HTP 104 and 105's. Here is the link

I currently use HTP wicks in my soy, and seems to really work well. I use 10oz and 16oz Apoth, and single wick it with HTP1212 wicks... in my case there is very little smoke or soot, and I get a good melt pool and good throw. Course the testing is gonna start all over as I am switching to J223 container wax, mainly due to shipping costs. I also use Tri State Candle supply, but that is mainly because I live an hour away, so I can drive there alot cheaper than paying shipping.. Anyway, I would give the HTP wicks a look at as well during your tests..... HTH

I have a roaster, like the one pictured above, and it takes FOREVER to melt large amounts of wax..... so if you plan on using it, better start about 3 hours sooner than planned.... I am lookin for an alternative right now for larger quantities
-
from the looks of em, you should be able to dip em ok. May have to be careful with the rose attached to that one, but overall should be pretty easy. JMHO

those look pretty cool... im not a big pink fan, but they do look great

2 - 3 weeks is a good time frame.. allows them enuff time to get some sales, but not so long that they lose interest. JMHO

Were the Home Interior vendors Selling product? It is against their policy to sell at shows like that. They are only supposed to book parties at these type of events. If they are selling get their Business Card and turn them in to Home Interior.
Each year there are complaints that HI sets up. Nothing is usually done. I have even seen booths set up in the local mall. The HI vendors set up with a vast majority of their products, and because it has the HI name, and they can sell em cheaper... they get the bigger portion of the sales. which really sux

Is there a way to find out where the local craft fairs are in my area?
Check with your local chamber of commerce. they should have a listing of all events for the upcoming year

Good morning ladies and gents. I just wanted to post on here and rant for a few seconds. I have a one day show scheduled for tomorrow. Its sponsored by the local Red Cross, and I try to do it every year. I usually make a little bit from it, but I mainly do it to help out the cause. Here is my gripe. This is supposed to be a craft fair... hand made items, etc. I just found out that Home Interiors AND Mary Kay are setting up. 2 years ago, I was right beside the HI booth, and it really sucked big time. I dont think that its right for them to be able to come into a CRAFT show... Anyway, thanx for letting me vent.. now I can get in the mind set for the show

very well done.. wish I could do pillars like that
