I plan on venturing into the electric grubby candles and hurricanes..... what is a good, easy to use hurricane wax? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA:D

I use a 50/50 mix of ok6228 and j223. They pop right out of the molds and they smell awsome..... lots of trial and error tho.... hth
-
some people use the little doilies or however you spell it.....lol... or you could go to the dollar store and get some nice little plates... be creative...
-
I get mine thru colonial tin.... they are a little slow sometimes, but they offer some very cool warmers

LILAC!!!! uugggghhhhhhhhhhhh

I have never tried that one, but NG has one that is absolutely out of this world.... has worked well in every wax that I have tried it in with no fuel smell..... so far....lol

OK....you girls figure it out and if you want to have a girl party I am up for it. Pick a date and I will clean my house (just a little) and put on make up and wear some decent looking clothes that aren't covered with wax...lol.....tell me your food preferences (like maybe you don't eat lettuce because it scares you).......Amanda is moving out very soon, I think, and all of her children's junk should be gone....three dogs too. I will invite Shoresgirl over too and you will love her...honestly. I have known her for 23 years and there isn't a sweeter person in the world. She is so full of sugar that I gain weight just being around her...lol......Donita
Can a guy crash this party? I would gladly travel to VA to take a class from Donita.... her stuff is awsome!!!

I can never get the labels to fit or line up correctly. Do I need to buy just avery labels?
I have the same problem, and have calibrated all of my printers with no luck...the preview page looks perfect, and when I hit print, it all falls apart...... so I too am on the hunt for a new label program..

I know. Hitting that delete button is just more than a person can take huh?
Geeze Louise. Bitch if your water is wet too?
it is sad that people cant get on here and present their opinions about some topics, only to have people like this pipe in and start this kind of crap. I have been a member of this forum for quite awhile, but its people like this that keep me away... some people just have to get on here and intentionally start stuff.... they live for it.. and personally, I think it sux... but thats just my opinion..... im sure there will be a very witty come back to this... but oh well..... life happens.

Thanks Candle man! I did BUY a box from the first month..I paid $8 to my paypal account for one...lol But every sample i get goes to those who buy a box...Now not saying there arn't samples i would love to try and if i do, i BUY a box from myself. Its a business and i treat it as such.
Kudo's for doin things right. There are so many people out there that are scamming and it makes the ones who are trying to do it right look really bad. It only takes 1 to run 100's .... For those that use or run these business that are legit, I say good job. Right now, I just do not have the budget to be sending that much free stuff out. Granted, it may get me business in the end, but with the economy the way it is, I have to preserve what I have... sorry if I caused a rift.... was not my intentions...

so my red flag warning system was warranted.... which is good to know... I cant afford to be giving away that much stuff... so I think this one goes to file 13.... thanx for the insights :highfive:

Ok.. I just got an email from a company saying that they want my products for their sample boxes. They request that I send samples of my choice, and then they forward them out to their customer base. As soon as I started reading it, the red flags went up..
I have the ladies name, but also the company name that she gave me. She invited me to look thru her site and even gave me a link to a forums section. I am very leery bout this, and was hoping some of you mite have some insights on this.... the company is Lemming Central. any ideas?

dont know bout the FO, but I used to drink that wine... Boones Farm...........

I would not suggest www.diyestores.com. They are a very poor ecommerce provider and they charge far more than the service is worth.
I definately DISAGREE on this... I have used them for over 6 months now, and I have had extremely good service with them.... their pricing is comparable to others... and the customer service is awsome... but again, everyone is entitled to their opinion.. My vote is for DIYeStores.

if it were me, I would start figuring at 75% mark up and make any adjustments you need to from there, ie shipping etc. After you factor all of that in, if it seems too low, then add 10%... if too high, then subtract 10%. This is how I do it, but others may have different ideas..... just thought i would get the ball rollin for ya

You could try a couple different routes.
If you want to be more hands on and do it yourself, then I would recommend the following:
If you don't want to have to do anything design wise but maybe your products, then I would hire a designer.
For web design, you're welcome to visit my site for a FREE Quote and consultation. www.riverstreetdesigns.com . I also list a few graphic designer recommendations on my site.
I highly vouch for the DIYeStores and riverstreetdesigns.... she does some awsome work..

I use alot of Tri-States oils and get most of my wax from them. It doesn't hurt that I only live about an hour from em....lol..... but seriously, you wont be disappointed....

site addy is on my signature
ok, for some reason it isnt, so here it is....

I tested for almost a year before I started selling. I make containers, pillars, votives and wax melts.... the best way to find out about craft shows is to check your local chamber of commerce or state tourism office. You could also check with the local red cross as they sometimes have craft shows around the holidays.... good luck

In my opinion, its always worth it to get a better price... I say go for it

I have not made the tealights, but I THINK that they are about .5 oz each.... so you can get an idea of how many you would get per pound
HTH

I signed up with Propay....
