The mold I bought is a 32 bar so I guess it would hold 120 oz's.
Thanks everyone.

Are you talking about a commercial vendor or a smaller vendor? Do they come on here? If so maybe you could just ask them what they use, sometimes people don't mind to say. Doesn't hurt to ask, the worst case is they won't tell you.

Cool !! Thanks for the info!

Feeling better thanks for asking Nancy! I have so many molds I could be a manufacture!! LOL I just like to try them ALL! I'm going to pm Birdie and ask her if she has any special tips. I'm so impatient that when lining the mold the corners always have weird lines on them from the paper.
I happen to really like my Kelsei 18 bar mold so it might just be for not, but I like the idea of 32 bars at one time. I need to figure out how much wet soap that would be.
Ta-ta for now!

You should have gotten a second poll or link to it as whatever you listed the first time exists no more. You'll need to do the poll again.
Yea I had to take it again, wasn't so happy about that but whatever!
Thanks

The links for the scent review board don't work. I get a blank page.

I have three of their 16 bar molds. They are very nice molds.
How do you line them ? I was thinking of making a liner of mylar or craft foam. I know I'll get tired of lining it with freezer wrap.

It's sold. I bought it. ;-)

I can see a little purple but it is very faint. I would like to know where to buy the powder also and how much you used ppo?

Maybe the alcohol content in the beer you are using is lower than wine. I have always just avoided the issue by boiling the alcohol out as many have had problems with the soap over heating and the soap cracking.
But if it works for you by all means don't change it.
-
Wine can be used as the liquid in your soap, but all of the alcohol content will need to evaporate before it can really be used.
A friend of mine makes beer soap and when I asked about boiling out the alcohol she didn't know why that would have to be done. She simply lets the beer go flat. Can you explain your reasoning?
Did you read my above post?? It said because it can cause the heat to increase.
Soap getting too hot will cause it to crack.

I took the poll this morning and was very suprised that they had suppliers named and then an other box. I thought it was very leading and in poor taste.
I agree I didn't like it at all as some people would just choose one that was listed if they couldn't think of one right away. IMO
I took the poll from the first way it was sent, in fact I don't remember getting a second offer but maybe that was because I already took the poll, but I put in who I wanted if it wasn't listed and left blanks if it didn't apply to me . Like I don't make candles so I left all those blank.

Where I say do you keep all that lovely soap you make?? You must have a huge house! LOL

Hi Abbie
I loved your demo on these shampoo bars, now to get the courage to try them!
-
I heard you have to heat all alcohol to remove the alcohol content before using it as it will increase the heat of the soap.
-
You did great and I didn't think you look nervous!! Your soaps are awesome. It's great to get some free advertising !!
-
Do you also use the Tank to cut the logs?? I like the fact that the top of the block mold would be the tops of the soaps.
-
I ordered 2 custom block molds...17x13x3 from Woodfields. According to his email yesterday he is hoping they will be done next Friday which is exactly 4 weeks from ordering. He is very good about answering his emails at least once a day. I have 2 Silvermoons in this exact size and can't wait to get these 2. If they are as nice as everyone says I will be ordering 6 more immediatly....not taking the chance of another silicone mold supplier disappearing on me again before I get all the molds I need...LOL
What are you going to use to cut these with?? How many bars will that make?
I have noticed that with large block molds the tops of your soaps are really on the side so to do layers or have stuff on top it is really on the side.
Do you understand what I'm trying to say??

Just curious what size custom slab you were wanting. I could always use another mold.
Rae
Hi Rae
This is what I was looking to get.
To make a mold 9 3/4"Lx9"Wx2"D (that gives you 12 bars 3 1/4"x2 1/4"x1 1/2" with 1/2" clearance at the top)
I also wouldn't mind it a little bigger to make maybe 18 bars, but I'm sure the cost would go up accordingly.

I was wanting to quote CareBear but for some reason the quote didn't come up.

I ordered an Uplands back around May and got them fairly quick. Was able to talk to the owner quite a few times, too.
That said if I had seen WoodFields Woods I would have ordered those. They are very much like Silvermoon Molds.
Uplands are not as nice, really. In fact I have a quote from him on a custom slab but I have to buy 2 to begin with and I just don't have the dollars to do it right now. But I will in the future, they look awesome!
-
Did you buy a custom slab or log?? I was looking to buy a custom slab but he said I'd have to buy 2 for him to do custom and they would be about $96 + shipping.
Not able to do 2 at that cost right now, but they look like fabulous molds!

has anyone tried to use a circle or oval scrap book cutter to cut out their labels? I was wanting to do ovals but I can't cut worth a darn.
What program do you use to create your labels adillenal?

They aren't super hard to make if you have a good recipe.
So where did you find a "good" recipe??
Did you find it here?
% of Babassu in place of coconut & Palm K?

Could you give specific #'s? How much is too much linoleic? I've heard if palmitic is too high it is drying.
Thanks
