  1. Hoping that someone can help me out. I'm searching for a 3x1.25x3 square soapbox. I'd love to find it in black. Second choice, white. But kraft may have to 'do' until I can afford custom. I've been through every link I have. The only one close is from papermart, but it is only 1" thick. I can't afford the prices at Bayley's boxes (though they are lovely boxes). Does anyone have a suggestion or a link? I'm about crazy enough to cut them out myself...(ok, not that crazy...)
  2. I know that I have seen these somewhere. They are square individual molds. I think they may have been silicone. I want to use them to make individual chunk soaps. I don't want to cut them. Yes, I know I could cut them but would prefer (as I am not the straightest cutter in the world) to use the mold. I'd like them to be about 2" on an edge. Has anyone seen this anywhere? I'm going through my bookmarks, but am not finding anything. thanks!
  3. I've never used Peaks' products, but I did buy passionfruit tonight at LSC (I live nearby) and it utterly rocks. I'm so shocked as I normally do not like fruity fragrances.
  4. I've bought and used fo's from the following companies: BCN LSC DS CS MMS BB GL All of them make excellent fragrance oils. Some scents just ARE softer than others. I have a nice sandalwood from BCN that to me doesn't smell that 'strong'. To others, it does. I guess it is a matter of opinion! I would not hesitate to buy from any of these guys. And some of them (like GL and DS) are small biz and I like to help support smaller biz.
  5. I actually work as a tutor at a local elementary school. I gave every one of the teachers that I support, and admin, candles for holiday gifts! So far one teacher has said she wants to buy more! So that is good. But it is when you get 'into' the high schools that the money is made (or so I hear...) we'll see. I'm going to start promoting my candles a lot more this year. Thanks for the suggestion.
  6. I'm actually doing that at this moment. I'm changing everything from name to look. For me, this is happening for 3 reasons. First, because I'm tired of the name. Second, because two companies have 'co-oped' part of it and are confusing my customers. Third, because I've thought of something that lit a fire under me. And that is a very good thing... But it is also going to be hard work. And some of my customers won't know and won't figure it out. So I'm back into the building phase. Can you change your name, slightly, to reflect more items? Rather than 'The Blooming Candles' how about 'The Blooming'? HTH
  7. can I post an ignorant? and ask what this is? I know presto pots. I had one fitted with a spigot like 5 years ago by a neighbor. And I have two of them...one for votive wax and one for jar. But I've never heard of a turk n surf before...
  8. I think those look so nice that I'd be afraid that someone would think they are edible! Wow! I'm trying to figure out a new way to make mine (boring of the same ole', I guess). These don't 'fit' my theme, but they are fabulous anyway!
  9. there is some cute stuff on that site, but OUCH! The pricing is pretty 'high' isn't it?
  10. I would love to get 'into' the fundraising arena. Around here, though, most every school already has 'their' candle vendor. And most of them, apparently, will only 'do' one candle event a year. Any advice on getting 'into' the market for those who are doing this successfully? A good fundraiser would be a huge bonus to my family. Especially in these economic times.
  11. not entirely sure if this is the same company that I contacted last year, but they would not give me any local number to call. Wanted my SSN and other information that I've never had to give before. I owned a store for many years and dealt with several excellent processors, but they only work with B&M stores. I've read comments about propay before, but I'm quite happy with them. and oh, btw, this is my first post here!
