I am trying to make a 6 lb recipe.I am using the soap calc. What I don't understand is what oils you want to use less of,and what oils you want to use most of in a recipe.I don't want to make a soap that will dry your skin. My DH made me three two lb wooden molds with lids. This is the oils I have,Lard, veg shortening, canola, olive, coconut oil. Thanks Anna
  11. I apologize,I read my post again,I did ask why people do cp,when they can have the work done for them with mp.I know ,go ahead and call me a dumba&&.Denise I didn't mean to hijack you thread. Anna
  12. I realize the mp is simpler, and some people like to make soap from scratch. But that not what I was talking about.I have done both, and as for cost,I think it is cheaper to make cp soap.I could be wrong.that is what I was talking about.I have only did one batch of cp soap, and loved it. Anna

  25. Let me see if I can explain this,I am testing some new fo's,and the I am about to pull my hair out.16 oz apoth,J50 wax. clean cotton 8 %,two 44-24z 1st burn,4 hrs-good 2nd,trim wicks short, lite, smokes I know this is dumb question, but do I need to change to a differant kind of wick?I used 8%,because it seemed to be a light scent. plumeria 6% two 44-24z 1st burn good,4 hrs same as above juicy pineapple,6 %,two 44-24z same as above They all had a good throw the frist burn, they will burn fine on 2nd burn if the wicks are trim real short, but customers will not do this.Is there a smaller zinc for a container?I hate soot on a jar.lol:o Thanks,Anna
