  1. ooooh...can't wait  to see this cut.  Colors came out GREAT!

unique....in the melt and pour section...try a search for swirling m & p.  I've swirled m&p lots of times.  It's just different than cp soap.  A totally different technique to it.

  2. These are very pretty and springy looking, even if you are disappointed with the color yourself, they look great to me.

Are the vibrance mica's the old pop mica's from TKB? I thought I read that somewhere.  I still am using my original pop mica sample bags from TKB.  I'm almost out. And will need more soon.

  3. Well, here it is....I need to make another better one.  My cuts are cockeyed, as I couldn't find an exacto knife

and used one of my hubbys pretty sharp pocket knives.  Cut my finger too...so everything went downhill from that point LOL.

The dimensions are good though...so I will try it out Tuesday when I get to soap again.

LOL....I would want to steal those signs too.  They hang out sooooo long after an election....gets on my nerves.

  4. So, after seeing a video on you tube, I got the notion to make my own reusable Tall Skinny Mold using that corrugated

plastic.  I picked up a house for sale yard sign from my local True Value today (too lazy to go to home depot for the plain

    stuff).

I really really don't want to order the one that is saved in my wishlist at bramble berry because I have enough stuff as it is.  So, figured this was a good option

to try the tall skinny mold out.  I'm going to make the mold 2.50" wide, 10" long and 3 1/2" tall I think.

I'll let you know how this cheap alternative works lol.

  5. These turned out pretty.  I love that scent from Elements lol.

Hubby made me move my crafting into the empty rental several years ago because he said the fragrance oil when making candles was making the food in

the cabinets take on the taste!  I don't recall that happening lol.

  6. 1) What type of product did you use this in? (If soap, what process was used?)     CP SOAP
    2) Describe your recipe.    COCONUT, OLIVE, LARD, SHEA, CASTOR
    3) Did you use a water reduction?    FULL WATER
    4) How much fragrance did you use in your application?    1OZ PP
    5) How did your recipe react to the scent? (Did it rice, separate, quicken trace etc.?)   NO ISSUES AT ALL...TIME ENOUGH FOR MULTI SWIRL
    6) How did the fragrance morph or bloom in the product?  I SMELL BOTH APPLE AND OAK SO FAR.  HOPE IT STICKS
    7) How would you rate the scent in your product (use a number system of 1 being too weak, 5 being stellar)?  RIGHT NOW 4....HOPE IT STAYS
    8) Did fragrance cause discoloration and if so, to what color?   NONE TO MY KNOWLEDGE BUT I COLORED BATCH
    9) Additional information (did you use additives like TD or VS, could it withstand more or less fragrance, etc.)

  7. So glad you are here phoenix :)

I have found over the years that this forum is exceptionally helpful for anyone at any stage of their crafting from newbieness on upward.

If I have a question, I just feel very comfortable asking here.  I've always felt that way about this forum.  I actually can't believe I've been

coming here this long...lol....where did those 8 years go?  I'm a hobbyist...so I still consider myself a newbie compared to most here :)

Good luck on your new journey...and do post some pics of what you are making.  We love looking at pics!

  8. I think your swirls look GREAT Candybee.  I mix my TD in a bit of oil in a little cup.  No matter what, I still get some specks of it.  I guess I need a mini mixer

to get it mixed up better.  I even ordered mini spatulas and mini whisks from amazon to help with it....still getting specks.  My TD is from BB and it says Water

and Oil soluble TD.   At one time I think I used to take a bit of the FO and mix my TD into that...then into my base.  I'm pretty sure that helped break down those lumps

because in looking at some of my old batch pictures...I don't see specks.  I'm going to try that again on my next batch.

  9. Thanks everyone!

Candybee...I have a TON of oils that I am trying to use up that are several years old.  I've been going thru them and if they smell good...I'm

soaping them!  Or putting them in wax.  I have oils that suppliers no longer carry!!! I've had to throw out about 15 already....mostly ones in the cheap plastic sinking in bottles due to cracks in the bottles themselves.

I keep them in our empty rental next door (we own a duplex) in the kitchen cabinets out of the light and because it's empty...it's kept at a cool

50 degrees in winter....cool in summer.

I have a TON that are full lber's...never used.  I've been saying I'm going to gather them up and put them on the classies at

a reduced rate.  Only the ones that smell good though.  Just need to go thru them, weigh them write them down....ugh.

    I don't sell....but you can't imagine the ungodly stash...it's obscene.

My fo's and soaping stuff have been in the rental for at least 5 years!  Hubby wants to rent it out again for some odd reason...lol...so I need to use this stuff up.

Who in their RIGHT MIND forgoes getting 1000/month rent....because her soap and candle crap is being stored there?  WHO???  LOL.

I would rather turn that whole side into my woman cave forever!  I hate having renters there which is just 1 reason it's been empty plus we  have

been slowly upgrading the place...new flooring, bathroom, tile, all new electrical, french drain in basement....etc.

  10. I look forward to hearing how you like it!  It may thicken your trace in CP.  It made my latest batch a bit thick...but not horribly unmanageable.

Then again, I was trying the new to me making a mantra swirl...and was lolly gagging around with colors and pouring so mine was like

    pudding going in the mold.

Our friend loves pumice soap for washing his hands in his garage.   He is also our vet, so I supply him with free soap all year

for a few dollars off our yearly vet bill LOL.

  11. So I was you tubing and decided to try some of the techniques out there.

Most are fails, but still good enough for me lol.

Let me see if I can remember what these are without getting my recipe out.

The hidden feather swirl semi fail is MW Celtic Mist.

The drop swirl with m&p is BB Neroli.  Not a fan of this scent at all btw...at least right now.  Maybe will get better with curing.

The first attempt at hidden feather swirl, major fail, looks kinda like a I don't know.  My mom said looked kinda like

a vajayjay to her in the center LOL :o ....is Red Sedona a sockmonkey oil

The failed  butterfly turned moth is BB Vetyver...LOVE this scent

The last one is Olive Blossom from Elements.

  12. I am not sure what mine is since  I got it free from a relative that

used to soap and it was in a clear plain container.  I have a huge container of it LOL.

It is very very fine.  I would say for a super mild go with the tsp.  I used 1 tbls for the whole

    2 pound batch.

  13. I make pumice soap.  Depending on how much exfoliation you want, just adjust the amount of

pumice.  I used 1 tbls in my recent 2 lb batch....and I thought was perfect. Not too scratchy.

I would start off with that...and adjust from there to your preference.

  14. Both of those  are gorgeous soaps!

Here is a throwback from a few years back.  My first ever glycerin river soap....at the time I had NO IDEA this effect was

called glycerin rivers.  Only just learned that here in the last 2 weeks.

I really want this to happen again but have no idea how to reproduce it.  Will have to dig out my recipe for that batch.
edited to add....this FO was  Cracklin Birch from NG.  Fits  the soap look to a T!

  15. I have a lb of their oatmeal milk and honey that I have had for several years.  It's still nice, and the only OMH I have.  I make a 2 lb batch of soap with

it a year.  I also have their cinnamon stick, which is pretty strong too for candles.  The times I was there I was just overwhelmed with smelling the bottles. I only

bought two, and spent the rest of my money on other stuff.
