  1. it doesn't get any more mild than a milk castille.
  2. Oldtime and Lilly stopped selling supplies in the last couple years too.
  3. I agree, the recipe is critcial. that being said, I love avocado oil. it's definitely one of my favorites. even as a singe oil, it's lovely.
  4. I much prefer lard to palm. though I do have good recipe that uses it. I'll still continue to use it to provide a veggie alternative, but only then.
  5. Kymber, dang that is way cheaper than any supplier. Thanks for sharing!!!
  6. oh I think that should like a gorgeous combination. heavier on the vanilla with just enough vetiver to darken and sex up the vanilla. actually, one of my favorite perfumes features vanilla and vetiver prominently. there is also patchouli, spices, musk, coconut (very light). have fun and I'll be interested to hear what you come up with!
  7. congratulations! welcome to the addiction!!!!
  8. I am so jealous of you that can go and pick up from there. the shipping doesn't work for me, but sometime when I'm somewhere in the continental US for a week or so I really need to make an order. their prices cannot be beat! and I've looked!!!
  9. super! my vote is not to chunk.
  10. what a wonderful idea - thank you for sharing! I have some wooden molded that I'd love to find an alternate to lining- it sounds like this might be it....now to find some lexan here.....
  11. I do wear safety goggles and gloves. I'm rather lax about long sleeve shirts, pants and close-toe shoes, but goggles are a must for me.
  12. so how did they turn out? I love the greens and the swirls are to die for!
  13. they are gorgeous! I think the second is my favorite but I can't decide. can't wait to see cut pics!
  14. the dragon's blood is so rich and luscious! really they are all gorgeous!
  15. Soaphutch molds look so amazing. They've been out of my budget but I was able to acquire 2 Silvermoons, which are fantastic. I've got some misc wooden ones but I don't want to use them at all with the love that I've got that is silicone. I had great CS when I got mine, and the quality is wonderful, though I'm not sure what's going on with them now. I have noticed that when I tend towards full water I have to wait longer to unmold but that's no surprise. normally the soap slides out slick and smooth 8 to 12 hrs later (the next morning).
  16. I'm not a rebatch fan. Rebatching always seems like a terrible amount of work and most of my batches have been fairly small so I didn't feel too bad tossing them. And they are going for good reason. Though the resulting soap from when I did was just wonderful, so maybe it is worth it. I've seen some beautiful rebatches and am just in awe. Some of the very best have been incorporating soap shreds into fresh soap and SB the heck out them a la Miss Lilly. Though that's not traditional rebatching, but it's a way to use or correct messed up soap in a way that ends up just beautiful.
  17. it's been a long, long time since I've been over there, but I *think* it is: here... I hope that your friend is able to figure out what's going on w/her hair!
  18. I got mine from Fred Meyers. I can't remember what the brand is, but it's a double - mini spatula on end, larger on the other.
