I just ordered Fireplace from Lone Star, I'm looking for a true wood burning scent. I hope this is it!

So is the Patchouli Musk the same as their Patchouli?
-
Never had any problems with them here, & we use a lot of their oils in soy.
-
Thanks, I'll check it out.

I have always used Moonworks but nbw their out & no answer to my emails. Can someone please give me some companies that a least compare to Moonworkd patchouli?
-
The only place I have found tubes for my soy whop is tubesnstuff but sadly the shipping is crazy. I too would love to find a place I can purchase the squeeze tubes for my lotion, until then I'm forced to pay the high shipping :-(

I use JS & get great reviews.

It took me so long to find one that had the true walnut smell to it so I guess when its all I just need to discontinue it I did try the Maple Nut Crunch & I didn't get the walnut in it, plus it didn't throw very well for me. Well at least that was the only one I got from Willowwoods. Thanks for your suggestions.

Anyone have any Maple Walnut their willing to sell? Many thanks!

Thank you so much for all your great info, I really appreciate it.

Is it the coloring or the fo that makes the color changes in my soap? I was using the gel soap coloring it never stays that color. Should I be using the powder forms instead? I see other peopls soaps looking vibrant with color & they look beautiful. If I do need the powder form what company do you recommend? TIA

I am definitley making this one!! I will be doing like you said with cutting the castor & adding sugar. Thanks so much everybody for all your great ideas, now I'm excited to start this batch!! I'll be sure to post picks & give a follow up. Thanks!!

I found this recipe & would love your thoughts on it please. I was looking for a soap that's easy on my dry skin, this is one that caught my eye.
40% olive oil
25% palm oil
25% coconut oil
10% castor oil
Then at trace add 3 caps of vitamin e
-
I guess I saved it because it came out okay other than the color & the smell isn't so great. When I sliced it, it didn't crumble. I'm reading if I add some oils at trace (vitamin e & cocoa butter) I will end up with a higher moisturizing soap like I'm looking for. One things for sure my friends & family are getting to try a lot of different soaps :-D

I put it in the crock pot yesterday & it just kept getting dryer & dryer, almost like a pie crust before you add your water. It was super crumbly, so I added olive oil & distilled water until it looked more like mashed potatoes. I am going to try cutting it today & hope it doesn't crumble. All I was after was trying to make a soap that is very moisturizing for my dry skin. I read so many articles saying to add shea so I tried it.
Actually the guy on here chuck_55530 got me hooked. I bought a pound of fo from him & he send a bar of soap with my oil, which was so nice. Both my husband & I loved the soap so I started doing my research. Thanks Chuck!!

Do I add FO to this again when I rebatch? I don't have TD so I guess its going to look like mud lol. Thanks for the link powder

I made this soap yesterday & when I went to cut it, it just crumbled. Its real dry & crumbly. I was wondering if you think I could rebatch this in the crock pot or should I just throw this along with the recipe away? The recipe I followed was...
14.4oz coconut oil
14.4oz olive oil
9.60oz palm
9.60oz shea
6.77oz lye
15.8oz water

Thanks for the heads up on the oil from sc :-)
As for the chocolate mousse, I'm definitely going to check it out, thanks

Wow are we going to bath with this or eat it lol?!?! All this sounds real yummy. I looked all over but never found a supplier selling "cocoa butter fo" Next time I'm in Lancaster I'm going to check out Fillmore for that scent you suggested thanks.
-
*fragrance* oops sorry folks
-
I love the smell of cocoa butter, & would love to try to make a cp soap that would also smell like it. Before I go ordering the fo has anybody ever tried it?
-
Thanks, I will check them out.

You know I never thought if that. The grape wasnt colored so there it must be the oil, but the green I used came from a supplier for soaps n lotions. I just assumed that would be a note I keep to not use those fragrance oils for cp soap. I'm still in the learning stages. I did make a mocha hazelnut coffee cp soap that came out awesome so I'm on the right track.

I just started making cp soap, & yep I'm addicted lol. My mind is going all the time trying to think of what scents I would like to try. I did find out don't color Green Tea Lemongrass green, it turns brown. I'm a huge Grape lover so I also made some Grape cp soap. When I took a bar down to the barn to show my hubby the sun hit it & turned it orange, so I'm guessing grape isn't a good choice then. Looks like orange, smells like grape. I just thought I would pass on my findings.

So I received the firewood oil from LS and it smells like something else in it along with the smoky smell I was looking for. I will be testing it today. What I'm looking for is one that smells just like a fire burning without all the added other notes.
