  1. That's so funny you say that I just had a customer tell me my birthday cake tarts remind her of play dough haha. With that in mind I gave them a whiff and sure enough that's what it reminded me of also. Since then I switched to Peaks and it doesn't seem to have that play dough smell to it after I placed it in wax.

What would be a good soy wax for votive candles?  I've been using PB and have been waiting for the new version, but it seems the time keeps getting extended.  I was lucky enough to see this the beginning of the year and have about a years worth of wax, but I need to get testing!

I too was able to purchase a huge amount of PB to get me through and I started testing the Golden Brands 416 tart wax. I'm finding it doesn't seem as hard as the PB and it has a matt finish on the top, not the shiny tops the PB gave me. Anyway the struggle I've been having is the frosting, it frosts terribly. So that's where I'm at right now, trying to use this wax but get rid of the frosting. Oh I also noticed if you add some PB to it, it comes out nicer without frosting but that's obviously not an option.

I was hoping to find others that use the 416 tart wax to help me out but nobody has answered my thread, I guess nobody else uses that wax so maybe I should move on to another wax to test.

  3. Hoping someone that uses Golden Brands 416 tart wax can help me out here. I started testing this wax due to the new PB is still not out yet. My opinion, that was a poor business decision on their end. Anyway this 416 wax is frosting terribly for me. I have tried pouring at different temperatures, tried adding coconut oil and still having frosting issues. My next step is adding some candle wax to it maybe? If you're familiar with this wax and can give me any tips it would be greatly appreciated.

The new tart wax is out and Candle Science has it. It says it can hold up to 2 ozs of fragrance oil per pound. I'm going to buy 10 pounds of it and see just how good it is.

I'm curious, do you mean the Golden Brand 416? Hasen't that wax been around for awhile or am I missing something? I just purchased 10# of that one from CS to try it and thought it was the new wax to replace the Ecosoy PB, but now after reading so many reviews on the 416 I'm under the impression it has been around since last year. I have my 416 wax melting now and hoping for good results.

  5. I have customers that buy my bags of melts and use them in the cups that came with their yankee warmer. They recieved the warmers for Christmas and didn't like how expensive the containers were to continue purchasing them through yankee so they tried putting my melts in the cups and it worked great.

  6. I'm hoping the new stuff works just as nice too. They said late March, its late March now... and in the mean time my stock is getting lower. Is there even a soy wax simular to the ecosoya pb?
