  1. aaahhhh... something to aspire to!!! Absolutely beautiful, Stella!
  2. How long do you have to make candles before your wax starts talking to you? (lol) Thanks Stella... gonna try to melt some wax for tomorrow right now!!
  3. This happens to me too! I usually heat them up on the fireplace stovetop to remelt them and they always turn out so much better the second time! Stella, can I ask you, when you say you melt your wax twice, are you putting the dye and scent in before you remelt it, or do you get the same effect with simply melting the wax twice in the presto pot? (I haven't tried the latter yet... only remelting 'finished' candles already poured) TIA, Jan
  4. candles and supplies also has cd wicks... you have to look under heinz though!
  5. FlameyJamie, Thanks for asking this question.. and thanks ronnie and hells for answering it. I have been working so hard at making what is to me the perfect candle, only to have some mushrooming here or burning too quickly there... I'm very glad to read that not everyone has quite as perfect a candle as it would appear!!!
  6. sooo excited...just got my sample pack of cd wicks from candles and supplies this afternoon. Have tried the htp's and lx's, and found mushrooming )lx's) and big curls/quick burn time (htp's) so I'm hoping the cd's will work for me. Also got some gb444 and c-1 to try... shipping was more than the cost for 20 lbs, but if the wax works... I'm paying $91 here for 50lbs of ecosoya anyways, and so far haven't found the majic formula for cba... but will certainly continue to try!!
  7. Looking for NICE wholesale tart warmers. My girlfriend has a terrific one she bought - it is ceramic, cubed and brown for $9.99 - a nice slit at the bottom big enough to get the t-lite underneath... found a similar one at: www.greenearthstores.com/shopGE.php?dept=Department&kwords=burner&nd=1&state=0&x=26&y=9 but their wholesale link says 'coming soon'... anyone know where I can find a similar product of good quality? I'm guessing I won't find this exact one without going through this store, and don't know when their wholesaling will be available... but I would like something similar... it can hold 2 one ounce tarts... TIA, Jan
  8. I'd love to take a look at that list... how can the PB for tarts be so fragrant and the cba have little ht at all??? How frustrating!
  9. It certainly does, Danielle.. thank you!
  10. Danielle, do you use 1/2 and 1/2? I'm not happy at all with the cba, because of the hot throw, but would love to get it right because I can pick it up w/o shipping costs... I'm going to try the co too...
  11. mac n cheese, Haven't tested too many LX wicks, but am testing a 16oz apoth. right now 4" with 1 oz pumpkin souflee fragrance with 1 dye chip and LX 26... finding the wick to have a big 'shroom'... burning alright although not a big HT - perhaps b/c I'm not using enough FO, though. With HTP 1212's I'm not getting the mushrooming, but the melt pool isn't quite reaching the edges of the jar. I think I may try the CD's next too... No expert by any means, this is just what I'm testing right now! hth, Jan
  12. thanks jamiesoy, i have an electric one like that too... i'm actually just looking for your basic tealite warmer... thanks for replying!
  13. soo cute! I gotta tell you, though, I had to do a double-take, because I was reading 'mouse' not moose!! Good thing my mat. leave is up in less than 2 months & I'll get back to those who wouldn't make that mistake... my class of grade twos!!
  14. I'm interested in buying some of these wholesale... but want to check that the warmer fits a standard 1oz melt.. Can anyone who has purchased these tell me if they are good warmers and if there is lots of room for the tart to melt? (When I looked at the catalogue originally I didn't record the specifics, and as I live in no-where-land that doesn't have high speed, it took over an hour to download the catalogue... hence I don't want to bother again if the warmers aren't worth it!!) Thanks to anyone who can help!
  15. Violet, I'm interested in how this works out because I'm gonna start testing those soon too, and have some htp 105's! I've also got 73's, 83's etc. which I was told might work...
  16. i don't think you'll find a presto pot in canada.. let me know if u do!!!
  17. tried sometime this past month... was asked if I had an account, when I said 'no' they said 'sorry, we don't ship to Canada anymore'
  18. ummm... you'd have to ask a french-speaker...lol!! I know it is something along the lines of rats, darn it, dawg-nab-it... I just like the sound of it... 'zoot-a-loor (like door) z' (but again, perhaps that's my interpretation... I only took french in grade/high school - am by no means fluent!!
  19. please don't tell me that... I've looked at a few different options and thought I was getting a deal at $17/month...zutalors!!
  20. ah... that makes sense. Would be nice to sell a couple of 16oz cases retail though, no? 1 a year would almost pay for the cost of the website!! Dream big, expect little!:rolleyes2
  21. Ronnie, I agree.. very nice candle look and website!!! I like the way you are offering your candles in a case for a discount... do they sell that way? (don't feel you share if you don't want to... I'm just in the process of creating a website myself and I like this idea! - guess it wouldn't hurt to include it anyway and see if there are any 'takers!)
  22. fyi peaks won't ship to canada anymore unless u already have an account with them... i tried to order from them not too long ago
