Strange, I was reading this post yesterday and suddenly I had a problem with only one of my candles straight after I read this!!! I used EO, GB415 no dyes. I was pouring and saw some grains, once cooled no grains except on the top but very bad wet spots. This hasn't happened to me before and nothing has changed? Hope its not an omen LOL

I am in New Zealand and the shipping is a killer, I have to buy in bulk and ship by sea and of course the disadvantage is that it takes so long. I also can't just get samples flown over as it is very pricy.

I can send you a sniffie of the redwood and cedar, and the cool water if you want. I don't have the cashmere.

Can anyone recommend which wick would be good for crystal palm container wax in a votive glass 2" across? I use RRD 29 at the moment but suddenly am having extremes in burn times?? I use Candlewics palm. Thanks, any comments would be appreciated

I am waiting for some details back from Accublend in relation to this wax before I try it. Will let you know. I have been testing RRD wicks in 415 (just because i thought i'd try something different) and they are doing extremely well, other than the shrooms, it looks like tunnelling is occuring but catch up is good. Give them a go in the accublend. I use EO and no dye.

I was just thinking with the 8oz and 16oz travel tins that the customer might only light it in their hotel room for 1/2 and hour before bed. Customers never read instructions.

Never had a problem getting Candlewics palm pillars out of the mould ONLY when it was mixed with paraffin. Put it in the fridge and see.

You know how we test our soy and palm for a certain time (depending on width of container or pillar) for the 1st burn and subsequent burns, does soy and palm have a memory like paraffin? I was just wondering as I have never just lit a candle and put it out after say 10mins. I always test like we should, but a customer might only burn the candle for a very short time. I know palm wax burns down then out and soy catches up and thought maybe they don't work the same way? Thanks

Makes you wonder how candles can be so cheap from China (To our country, we don't have duties) because although they don't pay pittance to the workers, they still have overheads and the freight costs must be quite high???? Makes you wonder what they are making those candles with?? :confused:

Why is it that whenever you look up candle costings, they never include the labour even though you would have to pay someone else to make the candles if you couldn't. Some don't even include freight which we know is very important in all candle costings. I am just curious:confused: , I know what to include in my costings.

If they buy small amounts, sell retail, if they buy your miniumum for wholesale then sell at wholesale prices.
