  1. I am testing this Fo. I love the smell but I have not been able to get a great HT, which I know is possible.

I use a 75/25 415/J223 blend, 1oz FO, CDN 12/14 wicks in an 11oz Metro jar, 3inch diameter. I am 20 hours into my testing..... the 12 is doing better than the 14. It is burning a bit hotter, but slower. After this last burn the MP was full and 1/4in deep in the 14 and 3/8in deep in the 12. I am getting mushrooming on both.

I can smell it when I am over it and a little around it, but it isn't throwing like I think it should.

Does anyone have any suggestions?? Is this one that people cut back on? I am thinking about going down to a CDN10... maybe that will help.

TIA for any help with this.

  2. I am having a hard time getting the wicking on this scent.

I use an 11oz metro jar, 3in diameter. 1oz/pp. 75%415/25%J223. Most FO's so far use a CDN12-16. The CDN 16 on this one has a weak flame and is tunneling. It seems I need to go to an 18, but that just sounds huge.

Has anyone else had to really wick up on this great FO??

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!! My daughter wants this scent for Christmas!!

    TIA

  3. I ALWAYS have my hair up unless I am going someplace semi nice.

Ever since I got attacked by my vacuum...

I was vacuuming under a dresser with the attatchements and somehow my long arse hair got sucked into the fan and it smashed into my head leaving a nice gash and a major amount of hair ripped out. No joke!

It makes life much easier and SAFER!! lol

  4. The crafters choice is the same as the 6006. So they said!

I have both of them but only played a little.

I too wanted more soy. I actually mixed that with soy to get rid of the frosting.

If you head up to WSP give yourself plenty of time. That place is almost impossible to get in and out of quickly. You can smell all the FO's, check out the containers, touch the waxes. They have pretty much everything out to see.

I will be making a trip over there soon. My niece wants more rubber duckies for Christmas!

    Have fun if you go!

  5. Sudsnwicks.... can I ask what type of wax you use?

Not formula, but soy, paraffin or a blend. Thank you for your reply... After much analysis of what I am smelling when it burns, I do think less might just be more with this one!!

    Again, Thank You

  6. I searched and read back into early 2007 but have not found any FO% info. I am wondering if anyone has had to drop the FO% with this one. I am testing in a new wax and I am not liking it at 1oz/pp. I made some testers that are curing with 1.2 oz/pp. Now I am starting to think that maybe I went the wrong direction. I have to wait a few more days to test so I figured I throw the question out there.

Right now I am using a 75s/25p blend. I also tested 1oz/pp in a 50/50 and am not thrilled. I love this fragrance and can't seem to get it right.

TIA for any and all help!

  7. As far as the jj' go... I like the CD7 at this point. Both started out slow (typical) then got a fmp. The 8 got there first and looked ok till a later burn where it showed it was too large. Large shroom and way too deep. 7 is much better.

The metro's are another story.... I goofed and forgot to label each jar before they were moved. So I have no idea which wick is which. I am hoping I can tell later on. I have them now as A & B, so I can take notes. The throw still is not what I'd expect from a 50/50 blend. They are burning nice though!!

  8. I have the jj's in the bedroom now. They have been burning about an hour. I haven't formed an opinion....

I lit a brand name candle in my regular testing area and am not impressed. I am not sure if my memory of the throw is greater than the actual throw!! In my mind they used to smell up my entire house.

I have made other candles that almost smell me right out of the house, so I know it is possible. I am starting to wonder if my 415 is the issue. I am going to make a candle with clean cotton which I know throws... if it doesn't then I am going to buy new 415.

    GGRRRRR

  9. I lit the 2 metro jars this evening and burned for 4.25 hours.

They burned beautifully but had little HT. I could smell it, but not like I should. I have been having a HT issue with a lot of candles I have been testing.

I actually pulled out a "store bought" candle to burn tomorrow to see how well it smells up my house. My house is very open so it is kind of hard to test in. I am getting frustrated!!

I will also test the jj's tomorrow.

  10. When I was using a cardboard box I would uncover in the morning and they were cool. I usually pour at night. I just tried a really good styrofoam box and they were still warm in the morning so with that I will wait closer to 24 hours. I did touch one and it is the only one now that has a huge wet spot! So I will NOT peak again! Learned my lesson!!

ETS: So depending on my "covering", depends on the time I leave them.

  11. Pwillo 2 you actually did help! LOL I know if you order from Omaha Steak, they send in the nice thick styrofoam boxes with dry ice! They are really nice! I hope your UPS man comes early!!

Tootie I will post my results. I will most likely fire them up Thursday or Friday.

    OH, I used Peak's Gramma's Swingin' Eggnog! YUMMY 1oz/pp.

  12. I did search again with "blend" but found nothing useful to me on wicking.

    I ended up pouring 4 testers last night. 2 metro's CD 10 & 12 and 2 jj CD 6 & 7. They look beautiful.

I tried a new (to me) method to cool them and they are still warm this morning. I wanted to make a styrofoam cooling box, but never got around to it. A friend gets meat shipped in and it comes in these wonderful, thick styrofoam boxes.... they work great. I put the lid down, set my jars down, pour and cover with the bottom. I can't get over how slow it lets them cool.

I will test them in a few days and post how these wicks have worked out.

    Happy Holidays everyone!!

  13. I searched for 50/50 to see what I could find, but it kept saying it found nothing. I know it lied to me! LOL

I have been testing a 75s/25p blend, in jj I was using a CD10 but it was too large so I was going to pour new testers with CD8... at this time I am going to test 50/50 instead, so I am wondering if I should go to a 6 or 7. I am not sure how much of a difference the added paraffin will make. I think I read that it isn't much of a difference but I can't find it now.

I am also testing an 11oz metro jar that worked with a CD12 or 14 in the 75s/25p blend so I thought I would make up CD10 and 12... does that sound good?

TIA for any and all help

  14. I went to the Wicks Unlimited site to view the CD info.

In the chart of info there is something that I think I understand but would like a little verification....

Wick size ROC Flame Ht Pool Diam

    Stabilo-12 0.24 2.39 1.93

    Stabilo-14 0.22 2.02 2.00

    Stabilo-16 0.24 2.54 2.01

to me it looks as if the 12 might be a little hotter than the 14.... like the order really is 14, 12, 16.

Am I understanding this info correctly?

TIA for any and all help

    Danielle
