  1. Stella, I have seriously considered ordering the smaller CDN's, now maybe the larger too, and reselling. I just can't find what I want and I don't like it. They are great wicks, as you know, and really need to be out there more!! Danielle I just don't want to get stuck with a bunch of off size wicks.
  2. I have used mine many many time as a double boiler for small batches. It works well!
  3. that is the one I bought too! in a tealy/light blue colored bottle
  4. mine didn't have a clearance sticker on it... none of them did... but that would explain it. I might try another target and see if theirs is any different. They had a pretty good selection of the Dr.s stuff. Danielle
  5. here is a pic of the soap, I just poured it onto my counter. It is a very dark color and has kinda a nutty smell, not like shea, more like cakey. It is strange, not bad... but I don't think it is right. it is kinda clear, not really cloudy. If anything is has a bit of a shimmer to it. Danielle
  6. Thank you for all the replies.... it works very well, lathers like crazy and feels great but I think it has to be bad. Not sure how it could go bad... but I think I am going to have to take it back. Thanks again Danielle
  7. I was at Target the other day and picked up a 24oz bottle of the unscented baby formula. My question is what color is this supposed to be?? Mine is a dark brown and has an interesting scent to it. I am wondering if by chance mine went bad. If it can even go bad. I was super shocked when I checked out and it was only $3.87 (they had to look up the price) since online it is 14.99. TIA for any and all help Danielle
  8. This might help a bit.... http://www.craftserver.com/forums/search.php?searchid=1260736 I hope the link works Danielle
  9. The new label looks great!! Congrats!!
  10. The font style is what I was talking about.... make it a little less "sparky" LOL The suggestions you made sound great to me!! Danielle
  11. This label is way more "sparky". I like it better. The only thing I would consider changing is the font for your website. For me it is not a selling point and shouldn't be lumped in with the rest. I do think this new design will spark up your jars as mentioned in a previous post. Danielle
  12. The labels I get from online labels.... http://www.onlinelabels.com/ they even have a program you can use called Maestro.. which you can try out and create before you ever get a label from them. They didn't have a font I really liked so I downloaded a template from them. They will send you samples to check things out. Since I have really been examining my labels today I was thinking I might try a clear label also.... it never seems to end! LOL I have gotten great CS from them and will continue to do business with them!! Happy label hunting and making everyone Danielle
  13. I ended up going with a round label on the lid only. I had a great label, included a pic to represent both my girls... it was perfect... loved it. Then my brain kicked in and I realized how much ink that would take. I totally rethought the entire thing and came to the conclusion that alot of people really don't want a label to deal with. So I ended up simple but nice... so far everyone who has seen them really likes it that way. Even if the lid is off... my info is on the warning label. The are still a work in progress as the program I have isn't easy to get the wording circular. I need to research and find a newprogram that can support the label I have chosen. I might also take my e-mail off the top and replace it with soy blend... **I have heard less is more** LOL HTH Danielle
  14. Antonia, I am sure the coolers would work. I personally use the boxes that meat is shipped in. Like from Omaha Steak. They are actually 1 1/2 inches thick and are really dense styrofoam, and I get them free from a client! LOL Here are a few pics. I put the lid down, set my jars on it, pour and cover. They really do work great. I hope this help you out! Danielle ETS: I can fit between 6-8 depending on how I arrange them... and I have a lot of boxes! LOL If I ever get to the point of larger quanity I will design and create my own.
  15. I use a 75%soy 25% paraffin... I pour at 150 but cool in styrofoam boxes that they use to ship meat. If I pour in the evening.... the candles still have warmth to them the next day. My tops are great... my only issue is a residual wax line from the initial pour where the wax shrunk down upon cooling. The tops are smooth and level, no cracks, no crators. The residue line is easily wiped off. I did try cooling under a box and just on a table and those candles sucked! LOL I agree with the cooling slower plan!! HTH Danielle
  16. Hells, I get my jars from Fairway glass.... they call them the Richland, but they are the same as the metro. They are not on their site but if you call they have more jars available! So far I have found the CDN14 and 12 are what works for me. Here is a pic of a few I have made to test. My label goes on the top. Happy testing Danielle ETS: when I was testing the apothecary jars in a similar blend (ratio) I used a cdn20. But I was not thrilled with the jar. I wanted something that would go with more decors.
  17. Babyv..... I am starting to wonder if certain soys or parrafins leave the residue. I am using 415 and J223. Alot of people talk about great glass adhesion, but my blend pulls away from the glass. I will find the perfect "technique" for my house and bland. Hellen.... can I ask what wicks you have tried?? I am using a 11oz metro style jar with a diameter of 3inches and get great results with the CDN wicks! Have a great day everyone! Danielle
  18. Hello all, I have created a 75/25 soy/parrafin blend that I really like but I am having a little difficulty in the cooling process.... *if I cool in styrofoam boxes, they are perfect in that there are NO cracks, voids or dips... but the wax shrinks down making a "wax ring" at the hot fill line that must be removed or it looks tacky. *if I cool openly on table they crack and have voids and pretty much look crappy but have no fill line residue *if I cool under a cardboard box they still have cracks, just not as bad and no fill line residue I am thinking of putting a few holes in my styrofoam boxes so they can cool a bit quicker but still slower than cardboard. How does everyone else using a soy/parrafin blend cool their candles?? TIA for any and all help!! Danielle
  19. Thank you for all of the replies! I will finish my test at 1oz pp and see how I like it. Have a great night!! Danielle Honestly since I have never made or even used an odor eliminator candle I had no clue. I figured I would ask to see if a color was associated with this "scent". It isn't so much that coloring a candle needs help, but dealing with an unfamiliar "scent" sometimes requires a little more info.
  20. I am wondering what color people make this? I left it white as I had NO clue!! I will probably leave it that way because it seems clean to me.... but am still curious as to the color other people make it. **I used a 75/25 soy/para blend at 1oz pp. Wicked with CDN 12 and 14 to test in an 11oz metro jar. I read that some people used 1.5oz pp but if I remember correctly it was in all parrafin.** Thank You Danielle
  21. thank you all for the replies.... I am going to pour more 1 wick up and 1 down..... I WILL get this! LOL Thanks again Danielle Quick question.... when figuring the % do most people take 1oz /the total 17... or 1oz / 16? The way you figure obviously changes the %. I usually stick to 1oz (weight) pp of wax. To me that can be 5.8% or 6.25%.
  22. Thank you for all the replies... I will have to make my list and get some samples! You all have been a great help! Danielle
  23. Scented.... I saw that name come up a lot while searching. I read it was wonderful, is it a dupe or just really awesome!! Thanks Danielle
  24. Thank you for your reply. If I am figuring it right you use 1oz pp. Right? I know this is possible!! LOL Thanks again, Danielle
