  1. what percentage of wax and gel are you using? when i do "whip cream" that i plop, i do (maybe) 2/3 wax and 1/3 gel and whip and plop when it is the consistency of mashed potatoes. if it is omething that i absolutely want to stand as a shape, i sue a mold and pure wax and put it in the gel just before the gel is completely solid so that it sinks a tad and stays......... cheryl
  2. fo used in gel candles needs to be non-polar. if your fo is non-polar, i have several thoughts about what might haved happened: 1) you exceeded the fragrance load for the gel (penreco suggests 0-3% for low density gel and 0-5% for med and high density). that percentage is measured by weight, not volume. 2) the fo was not thoroughly mixed into the gel. you need to stir for a good couple of minutes to make sure that the fo is blended into the gel. 3) you may have added the fo when the gel was too cool. do NOT burn the candle(s) with the fo problem. they would be a fire hazard. hth, cheryl
  3. sharyl, sorry can't help with the gel and wax blend, but do have a question for you. are you crimping your wick at the point when the margarita glass narrows? i ask because what ever wick you use to get a correct burn in the large top of the glass will be to big for the small part of the glass. cheryl
  4. when i do apple or pumpkin pie candles, i very often sprinkle copper glitter over the top to simulate cinnamon. white glitter add sheen also and can look like sugar. i also use glitter on top of novelty wax food candles like "cinnamon rolls", "muffins", etc. cheryl
  5. you can take the soaps out of the wrappings and wipe them down with rubbing alcohol and set them directly in front of the a/c and see if that helps. what kind of colorant did you use? some of the liquid colors do tend to fade, even if the soaps are not in the sun. hth, cheryl
  6. try adding some vco and lighter oils as well as the corn starch and whipping it . cheryl
  7. uuuuuuuhhhhhhmmmmmmm....are you more willing to try this than the leg wax? cheryl
  8. are you using weight measurement or volume measurement? the majority of fo's are sold by weight. cheryl
  9. i use zinc and have found that proper trimming after burn keeps the mushrooming to a minimum. how wide is your opening in regard to your jar? how long a first burn are you doing? cheryl
