1. Good job. I too liked the cherry & the chocolate cake must be looking equally good.
2. You are certainly very skilled in this carving art. I believe it is the one of the toughest skills in candle making.
3. The fluted ones are so perfect ! The lavender color is one of my favourites.
4. Oh vow, I am tempted to buy a mold like this now.
5. Your boss was trully different and that was a nice gesture from him.
6. Beautiful colors. The blue ones are the best but the last one with contrast colors also looks great !
7. Wonderful colors...it must be really sad to part with such special things.
8. Thanks for all your comments so far...rangoli is certainly lot of fun and it is also a thing of prestige for us during festivals in the sense that we always feel it should turn out better than your neighbours . However, sometimes you put so much of effort into it and it does not last more than a couple of days as eventually the wind disturbs the whole design.
9. I don't know how you manage so many things. You are a gifted artist and have great vision.
10. Thanks for looking. You are right about the design on hands...it is made with heena and we call the design as mehandi. I will post a design when I make a nice one on my hands.
11. Perhaps, you all may not be aware of this craft. It is called as 'Rangoli' in India...it is basically a design made in front of the house for decoration during festivals. The original design is made with a white powder and then it is filled with different colors. You can also use flowers for decoration. I am attaching few snaps of my rangolis.
12. The candles are looking great no doubt but I am wondering how you manage that cascade effect with your attached snap. Please let me know if you don't mind sharing.
13. Ya, I painted them. Thanks for your compliments
14. They are just perfect in every sense. I have kept some of my old long earrings to decorate candles the way you do.
15. Good piece of work...you really have patience and understanding with colors.
16. Regarding preventing the maple leaves from drying early, the solution is - take a bottle of glycerine and pour enough quantity in a bowl (depending on the number of leaves ). Add double the quantity of water to it. Keep the leaves merged in this solution for a week. This way, the color is also preserved. I had told my dad to get these leaves all the way to India and he tried this. It really worked for me.
17. It is looking really good...I like the leaf color.
18. They are perfect according to me. Your enthusiasm shows in your work and I think that in candle making, the enthu level and patience is as important as the technique.
19. This is really something creative. Though I knew a similar technique of making roses with ribbons, never thought it would apply to maple leaves...and the arrangement you have made in the flower pot looks wonderful.
20. I am not doing a job currently so found time to attend some artistic workshops. Got to learn egyptian and japanese style painting and made 2 frames for my house. They have really given a new look to my house.
21. Thanks, I wish I could make better candles though.
22. Thank you so much..all the comments in this board are very encouraging
23. It took me more than an year to complete this wallpiece but everyone liked it so its worth the effort. It is fully embroidered with what we call as the kashmiri stitch in India. The blue ones are the peacocks in a circle. Actually the mirrors were also supposed to be embroidered with delicate borders but finally I lost patience and sticked them with fabric glue. It looks more beautiful than this snap but I could not focus properly due to the mirror reflection.
24. Welcome ! even I am relatively new and I love this board. All the members here are so enthusiastic and creative and they apart from making wonderful candles, they also appreciate each other's work. I stay in India and candle making classes have started here only in the recent 2-3 years. Even in the class, they teach us very basic candles so whatever new techniques I got to learn is all from this forum.
25. These are some salad decorations I made for a party at home. They are made using cucumber, capsicum and potatoes. The red roses are made with the colored potatoes. Hope you like them !
