  1. We use uMark Lite. You can watermark up to 50 images at one time. The other thing we like to do with our eBay images, is overlay them with a blank gif. That way the lazy people that would just like to right click only get a blank image. With a bit of work, one can of course copy the original, but most people are to lazy to do so. The link below will give you an example of the blank gif overlay http://cgi.ebay.com/Bella-Donna-Stevie-Nicks-CROSS-STITCH-PATTERN-CHART_W0QQitemZ180173627523QQihZ008QQcategoryZ34042QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem
  2. We had to come up with additional ways to raise money for the animals in our care at Happy PAWS Haven, Inc. We where already selling cross stitch patterns, but with us being the only no-kill in our county we where not bringing in nearly enough to cover the vet and all other costs. I had made candles when I was a teenager, so I started researching candles again and feel in love the concept of soy wax. After about a year of research and another few years of testing it was time to come up with a name. Every candle bought would help with the costs of saving a life of a dog or cat in our care. So the name “Save A Life Candles” was born.
  3. Did you withdraw the money from PayPal? It does not automatically transfer to your bank account. Maybe I am misunderstanding?
  4. NO, do not put in writing that you said yes to anything. That will and can be used against you.
  5. You can also let them know that your lawyer will be in touch with them for violating the copyright laws. Any pictures of your products on your site are automatically copyrighted to you and may not be used without your consent. If they do not have your consent in writing they can be sued. Note that statutory damages for copyright infringement can be anywhere from $200-$100,000, depending on whether the infringer is deemed innocent or willful. HTH
  6. But then if you really would like to use art, you can always do your homework and find out where the copyright has expired. It is safe to say, that if an artist passed away 100 years ago and his estate did not renew the copyright those images can be used. But as mentioned, do your homework and make sure no copyright exists.
  7. Yes and the fines can be staggering. These people are also being pursued and convicted under the full penalty of the laws, which states “penalties of up to five years' imprisonment and $250,000 in fines for each infringement". So that would be per item sold. So if you use artwork without permission and say sell 10 of those pieces the fine could be up to 10 x 5 years in prison plus 10 x $250,000. A lot of people do not realize that. We use artwork on our candles, but have the written permission from the artists to do so.
  8. Just be sure to never use ANY EO on cats (not even in shampoo bars). It can be deadly for them.
  9. Yes, I love to stitch when I find the time. Don't have much of that at the moment though. We do sell patterns to raise funds for the animals in our care at Happy PAWS Haven. All of our patterns are set up to be stitched over 28 count and one thread. You can find the link to our eBay store about half way down our homepage.
  10. Hi: Quick question. I am starting to make soap and cannot find where to put Soywax in the soap cal. Do I use the properties of Beeswax? Thanks
  11. Hi: Well Fancy Jars service is excellent. We left a message and they called back the next day. We received our order within 3 days. They do however only carry the thinner glass jars. For us it was worth the cost of s/h, as we live in AL. As mentioned, if we had ordered from the Jar store, with s/h the cost per jar would have been over $ 2.00. Just wanted to update you.
  12. Well, I guess no one else has ever used them. We will have to go ahead and take the plunge, as we really need the jars. Will update all on the service. Thanks
  13. Hi all: Has anyone ever ordered from FancyCandleJars.com? Is it a reliable company? We really need 10 oz frosted Apothecary Jars and our supplier is out of them. Ordering from the "Jar Store" would cost us over $ 2.00 per jar with the shipping and that is just too much.
  14. Essential Oils Potentially Toxic to Cats (This list is not all-inclusive) Peppermint Lemon Oil Lavender Oil Melaleuca Oil Tea Tree Oil Cinnamon Bark Oil Wintergreen Oil Thyme Oil Birch Oil Other oils containing phenol
  15. NO, NO NO!!!! Never use EO on cats! All EO are toxic to cats (not all are toxic to dogs though). Please NEVER use EO on cats.
  16. We use these in Germany quite a bit (had never heard of tarts before I got to the US). In Germany you fill the container with water and then add some FO to the water. The tea light heats the water and diffuses the fragrance. Not quite sure if one should use them for tarts thought (haven't tried it).
  17. Thanks all for your help. We have a few skin safe scents (from candle making) that don't throw well in soy, so I thought I could try making some CP for our personal use. Finally get the guts to try and can't get the lye. Candlemakingkid, I pm'd you, thank you. SatinDucky, I have tried there (actually I have been to almost every store in our area) and none of them carry it. I don't want to get a huge amount, as we run an animal shelter and I don't want to run the risk of someone (cat, dog, kid) getting into it. Thanks again all for your help.
  18. Thanks, must have posted at the same time.
  19. Thanks, for the info. It's a pity, as I wanted to try a small batch to see how easy it would be (or not) and then go from there. Is there a place that is close enough to order from, so that I can keep the s/h down? We order our candle supplies from a company in AL, but they don't have lye.
  20. Hi: Was wondering if anyone here was from north AL? We live in the general area of Huntsville, AL and I have been tying to find lye, seeing I wanted to try my hand at soap making. Can't seem to get it anywhere. Don't want to have to order it online. Thank any and everyone for your help.
