Back to the subject of .com/store not getting picked up by the search engines. I changed from the Premium Mals cart to Zen Cart in Jan. This changed me from a .com to a .con/store which I was not aware would be the case. Prior to that I was on the 1st page of google 90% of the time. Now I'm lucky if I'm found on the 20-30th page!! GRRR!! My sales which averaged about 5-6 a day have dropped to 0-1 a week! I've livid about this but don't know how to change it.

Anyone have any sage advice?

You can put zen cart in the root directory if you want. I put it in the /store since a) i'm still learning the Zen Cart and prone to break it I used to work for a ISP and nothing was kept in the root for our hosting.

I do know with my hosting provider i can change the direct point for the domain from the root to the /store folder if i want so that going to .com would take me to the main store.

That's a good point, figured you might want to know. If it had been tagged as anything but phishing and fraud i wouldn't have mentioned it.

after i broke the store in the zencart update back in january i used google cache to find all the descriptions to the items.

I forgot to mention (just went looking at the hosting admin console) that i'm allowed a google site map. I do know that some items we sell if you google them we come up way down the list others first page. ::shrugs::

I purposely put it there, and i've had no problems with google and yahoo and the other search engines crawling all over my site.

The reason i put it in a sub folder the /store is so if i break the store i have the main index page to put up an explination. I also added a link off the main page to the store.

the link straight to the store is in my sig, take off the /store and you'll see the main index.htm page.

I don't use HMC but i know the actutal store is located in a folder called store. So to get to my store it is .com/store

I'm with Stella on this, but if your own store is what you are looking forward to i'd suggest an education in business management to go along with that. That way you can handle the books and such as well.

I've been testing the IGI 4625 lately because it's additive free and does pillars and votives, i only have to worry about the FO and color. So far i've been very happy with it.

I'm mainly working on my containers and getting them tested so the tests have stopped lately.

What about Floating candles for parties?

I haven't gotten to floating candles yet. Spending more time working on my apothecary jars.

I'm thinking along a theme line...maybe in tins so if used outside won't break...no glass around the pool. Theme fragrances like Cute Cabana Boy, Ocean or just make up some names...maybe even bug buster candles???

I didn't think about the glass part back to the drawing board.

I've got a local pool/spa store i use for all my pool needs, and i was joking with the owner today about selling candles. He joked back and said sure bring me a couple samples and we'll talk.

Anyone ever sold to a pool/spa store before? If not what's your opinions on if it'll take off.

I'm thinking 5oz and 8oz apothecary jars and tea lights for spa people.

okay we can stake down the tents. Think i'll use cloth around the ratchet straps. Just learned i'm going to have to make up a cover for the 10x10 so it's not so plasticly looking.

I think i'm going to do the dog stakes and a kitty litter bucket full of play sand for the center if needed. 3 of the 4 shows are in western virginia, west side of the hills (yes folks hills, i don't think they are mountains after driving throught the rockies)

The 10x20 is one of those put together PVC pipe jobs, and i'm more worried about that one then i am the 10x10 ez-up one. Going to set up the 10x20 this weekend since it's new and we just got it in.

That helps a lot, as we will be on grass. I remember the screw dog ties from when we had a dog. If the dog can't pull it out then yeah the wind won't.

We do have the covers for all sides of the tents. The 10x10 will be closed off to hide out boxes and such. We even have to dress in medieval garb, 3 days in a kilt:yay:

okay so DW and I are doing 4 fairs this year, some of my candles, and the lot from her side of the store. The question is what do you weigh the tents down with?

We will have a 10x20 and a 10x10 tent...the catch is they are a Medieval type fair where all the piping has to be covered and such.

I'm thinking i should make the pole covers large at the bottom and fill 5 gallon buckets with water. Ideas would be wonderful. TIA

okay so i went into this with the opinion i wasn't going to do well since i didn't do well at the christmas one.

This time around i had more variety in scents and such, walked away with roughly $180 and several people wanting more clean cotton.

of the scents you listed tootie here's the ones i tried

Lavendar - like it even though i'm not a lavendar fan

peppermint/euc. - keeping for me it helps my sinuses love the smell

sage/pomagranit - tossed it. DW, DD, and I all think it smells like soap they cancel each other out

basil/herb - love it, poured the brandied pear right after and the combo smell rocked

I love dealing with CS, they are helpful and knowledgable. I love the fact their IT guy makes candles as well. He's helped me out several time.

I was just goofing off and looked up the 101 uses for skin so soft and found these two items

It removes candle wax from furniture, carpets and clothing.

Also if you ever make candles, use clear melted wax and put SSS in as it harden. Works great for outdoor use to keep the mosquitoes away.

Has anyone ever used it in their candles?

processor in a printer is the same as in your computer. It does all the calculations from the binary code the print job is sent in to what it looks like on paper.

memory in a printer is the same as in a PC the more RAM the bigger/more jobs it can hold without having to keep talking to the print spooler

I've no experience with this printer though, but it looks nice.

find more then 1 vendor for price comparison

Yeah i'm learning the holders are hard to find.
