  1. PS Does anyone ever recommend using an empty jar and putting a few melts in. I do it for my own use, but don't know if it is a no-no. I use my tester candle jar, clean it out, add some melts and put in electric cachepot melter. So far, no problems, but I know the "re-use" of jars is not a good idea. Hmmm, guess I answered my own question!! lol

I break tarts up and put them in a votive holder and put it on a warmer. At least that's what i did before i got a real tart warmer.

  2. I'll add to this one and bring the question from the one Judy linked.

If most are polyethylene which ones Polypropylene?

Right now i'm using the ziplock double guard freezer bags.

Next how would one tell which is which if it's not listed on the box?

How about cardboard? Can i use cardboard then wrap the boxes in a ziplock bag?

  3. Artcwolf.....No...I've never signed up (nor ever would) with anything like this on my own doing....I know it came from VP because I was able to track it back to them.

    Hmmm, now that is odd.

what i was talking about is what CSAS is talking about with the $10 off. it's been a while since i bought anything from them so i forgot what the deal was.

  4. I've been getting cards from them for several years as well and never had a problem.

If you don't read carefully you can end up in one of those business max things by your own doing not by VP. They give you the link to get $ off, but when you follow the link you sign up for something not associated with VP. Kind of like doing the free Xbox just join 15 things for a couple of months.

  5. Okay i saw a thread in my citronella search about someone testing candles while trying to keep the house cool without AC.

Brings me to my question, i'm thinking of moving the operation out to my unheated, unAC, uninsulated garage. I can get a heater and put in a window unit, but i know it'll still be hot in the summer and cold in the winter when not running the heater.

Is there a no-no zone temp wise to make candles? IE freezing temps in the winter and 100+ 90% humidity in the summer?

I can store finished candles in the house when done....

  6. What do you all use for citronella candle containers?

I was going to buy a bunch of the 12oz terra cotta patio pots from C&S but they are sold out.

The pool place and I were talking about them, and he'd love to see them in the store with some different scents mixed in. I let him know i've got to test them all first once i find some containers =/

  7. I'm going to give you an example layout of what my storage looks like (place i upload to)

    /.(root)

    /......httpdocs(folder)

    /......DWs files(folder)

    /......DDs files(folder)

    /......My store(folder ivyrune.com)

/..........Store(folder with zen cart in it ivyrune.com/store)

    /......My Files(folder)

now with my domain control in the admin area of my hosting package(1&1 hosting) I can edit the domain and make it look at anyone of those folders and that folder becomes the root folder for the domain.

so if i point the ivyrune.com to the store folder then when you go to the .com you will see the store not what is in the My Store folder.

hope that makes sense. doing my best not to talk in techie.

each / is where a specific .com points save for Store it is a .com/store

edit put spaces in consider the . as a space
