The jar is 3 5/8" side to side and 4.5" corner to corner. The CD 14's and 16's are not working. Any other suggestions?

Hi,
I am trying to wick Vanilla Bliss by Snowtop. I use a 20 oz Emma jar with a ratio of 1 oz fo/lb. I currently use 2 CD 12 for most of my fragrances but have tried CD14 and CD16 with no luck. Can anyone give me another CD suggestion or suggest a HTP wick that I might be able to use.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,
I add my UV Stabilizer in my presto pot when I measure my wax. Dump it in and melt all at once. Eliminates the possibility of me forgetting later. I have not used the USA so I can't help with that. I was told that I really didn't need to use it so I have not bothered. Am I missing something?
Hope this helps.

Thanks Scents,
I am actually on the West coast, but there are not too many suppliers over here. I will check out the links you posted and see what I can find out.
Thanks for your help.

Hey Sharon,
Thank you so much. I was wondering if it was the same, but was not sure. I am glad it is. Now I will just find that wax, like you said, closer for the cheaper shipping.
Thanks again for responding.

Thanks so much Chip. I sent them an e-mail and hopefully they will respond back. I appreciate your help. I also like the Bluegrass and really hate to have to re-test if I can still get it.
Have you purchased any of the wax from this new company? Kinda curious as to whether or not they have altered it any.
Thanks again.

Hey Awick... what is the company selling their wax? I have tried to contact Bluegrass but have not had any luck getting them to respond.

Ok. Just found my old notes and the wax box had Plain 415 on it. Maybe this will help with the suggestions.
Thanks!!

Hi Everyone,
I stopped making candles for about 8 months and am getting started back up. I purchased Bluegrass Candle Supply's Soy wax and they no longer carry wax. I would appreciate any recommendations for a comparable wax.
I am looking forward to getting back into candle making, but now I have to find a wax.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Thank you so much to those that replied. I didn't know about the vinegar so I will make sure he tries that. I will also have to make up a couple citrus scents and peppermint for him to try.
I, luckily, have never had to deal with that problem. He just finished his cabin so we were really glad that it did not spray. But man....it sure does stink still!!
Thanks again!! I really appreciate the suggestions.

Hi All,
I have been reading the posts on this message board for several months and have learned so much. But.....now I need your help!! My brother has a cabin and a skunk got inside. It DID NOT spray, but you can still smell that lovely skunk smell. It is not terribly strong, but you can still smell that it was there. It is only two bedrooms and a bath that have the smell. I have the Odor Eliminator FO and am going to take him a few of those to try and help with the smell.
I am hoping, maybe more like praying, that some of you seasoned candle makers might be able to help.
Thanks!!

Does soy wax go bad?
in Vegetable Wax & Beeswax Candle Making
Posted
Someone had told me once that after a while, the wax gets old and will not perform as well. They said that deterioration starts after about a year maybe a year and a half. I had some wax going on three years and got to my last case. This case did go bad on me. Not like what you would think though. The cold throw was still awesome and so was the hot. The frosting was no more than usual, but it would not burn after the first burn.
I would light the candle and get a great melt pool and the burning was fantastic. But after that, the wicks would never stay lit again and it was basically a useless candle.
I ordered new wax and have not had that problem since. But I did not throw my old wax away. Since everything worked great with it but the burn, I now use them for melts.
