  2. does anyone know where I can get a Olays soap scent?
  3. Looking for Dove soap scent, the pink one. I think it smells so good:laugh2: .Does anyone know if a candle supply place carries this scent?
  4. OK #274638 dumb question for the day. Do I label each candle votive with what wax I used, wick, CT name and scent?
  5. Maryann, I think they are talking about pillar molds.Plumber putty can be used to seal around the wick or wick pin that goes into the mold so the wax won`t leak out.
  6. :( Just talked to a supplier yesterday to order some jars and he said they were going out of business!!! He said jars, wax and FO was going to take a big jump in prices in the next few weeks!!!!
  7. Hey Lola, I brought the one with ivy on it and pull English Ivy in it. It came out with pin holes too. I figure I poured too hot.
  8. have you tried using a stocking? they are great for rubbing out scratches. or if the seam is thick, use a paring knife to whittle it down then use stocking to smooth out.
  9. Thanks for explaining. It just "looks" like when you fill up a 12 oz jar with 12oz of liquid ,its 12oz! Then put 2 oz added to level off . So do you put on your label "12 oz weight" ? This makes me think of the old saying "Do you believe me or your lying eyes".
  10. When you fill a 12 oz jar with wax, poke relief holes, let the wax set up, then pour a second pour to top off ( sometimes up to 2 0z.) wouldn`t that be a 14oz candle? I know this has been talked to death ,but would someone explain this to me if this is wrong? Edit: confusion - need spell ck
  11. You said that you had bubbles on the second pour. I`ve read posts` that said to try second pour about 2 hours after the first pour. After dealing with this for 1 and half years I find that this works:o .I think the wax on the first pour shinks as it cools and pulls away from the votve cup, causes air to come up when you do your second pour. I`m sure there are technical words for what I just said but there it is in redneck terms. Also second pour 10 degrees hotter than your first pour.
  12. oopppss:eek: .I meant pull out wick pin, PUT wick in, Then do second pour.
  13. I got my wick pins from Peaks Fri. ! My candles look so much more professional.Didn`t know which way to do the top of the candle though. Is it better to pull the wick pin out after the candle has set up, then do second pour? Or do second pour with wick pin ,pull out after set up and stick a wick in there? I`ve thought about using a hot iron shillet and melt the bottom just a second to seal the wick tab. So what do you think looks the best way? Thanks, Janice
  14. Klo, I went into their building to check it out. It`s hugh! They use soy for their candles. The owner is one of the bunch that claim he can eat his candles! I went into the area that has his finished candles that are for sale, and my sister and I went in and took a few sniffs. I could hardly tell a scent at all. All of his candles were in the status jars and he doesn`t color his candles. They are all white.I was not impress at all.
