  1. here are a couple of Florida suppliers for you:) http://www.candlescentsandsupplies.com/ http://www.floridasoysolutions.com/index.htm HTH
  2. I am really sorry to hear about your TERRIBLE ordeal. I can'teven imagine what you must have felt like. I don't know if this will help you or not, but there is a company called The Natural Artisan http://www.thenaturalartisan.com/ . It is owned by a lady named Laura. She is a SUPER lady and is very understanding and helpful. They sell only soy products and carry the "Nature Way" brand of soy. They are in New Hampshire and you are in Florida, and I'm not sure that is an issue for you. But what I CAN tell you, is that you won't have any customer service issues with this company. They are as personal as it gets. HTH By the way........they are in the process of adding a whole bunch of new products that arent yet on their site, including Anchor Hocking glassware.
  3. Georgia, come on............... Do you REALLY think that Hallmark, American Greeting, or whatever, is going to mess around with little crafters like us using their "old" christmas cards?? You can see them used in just about all arts and crafts world wide......... If someone used one of their images and became a millionaire doing it, I could see them having an issue, but placing them on a candle to sell at a craft show????? Not............
  4. Thanks Sharon, My pot will be plugged into a wall outlet that is controled by our kitchen light switch. I am a MAJOR freak about leaving lights on that are not in use, so even if I forgot to turn off the pot, I would NEVER leave the light on!! So I guess I'm safe there. Thanks again....
  5. Wax Coated Hard Drive................probably not what you need Breanna!!! Thanks for the info......maybe I won't get sent to the basement after all...
  6. Kandle Crazy....... Coconut Shells!!!!!!!!! I just bought 200 of them!!! any advice on using them before I get started and get so frustrated that I send them to the dump??? I've heard good and bad..........
  7. Thanks Michele. I sort of figured that! Here is another question for you? Did you ever have an issue with a build-up of wax or grease on the walls or ceilings of the room you used for candle making because of evaporation or whatever from the pot? My wife seems to think that might be an issue, and if it is..............its off to the basement I Go:o
  8. I have found a Presto Pot for melting wax:D Is it safe to assume (bad word!!) that the cover is never used in the melting process?
  9. I don't know if this ould help, but what about asking freinds and family for their old Christmas cards? Couldn't you use the artwork on them to come up with some really nice stuff? Just a thought........
  10. I just got off the phone with Laura from Natural Artisans. I had posted yesterday that she would be offering shipping on a case of wax for $10.00 anywhere in the country. That post caused quite a stir and I deeply regret making it!! In my jumping up and down for joy over the fact that I had a supplier that was next door to me, I misunderstood what she ACTUALLY said to me about the shipping. She indicated that she could probably ship a case of wax anywhere in the country "for 10.00 or so." What I failed to mention was that she said "as a promotional offer". I was so excited that I left that out. This is TOTALLY MY ERROR, not hers. I apologize to EVERYONE for that. That said, I am sure that she will be on here with a post at some point today and will clear the whole thing up. The next time I get all excited about something like this, I will keep my mouth shut until I am POSITIVE I have all of the facts straight. The one fact that I DID have straight, is that she has a GREAT company, is truly concerned about her customers and their needs and will work with anyone to see they get what they need in a timely and professional manner. Sorry once again.......... Don Chase Pittsfield, NH
  11. Hi Icecold, No, I haven't been over there yet. I plan to go later this week when I have the time and I CAN'T WAIT:D I wish now that I hadn't even mentioned the shipping until it was in place. As I said in an earlier post "THE SITE DOES NOT REFLECT ANY CHANGES YET" If she can do it, GREAT.........if not I'll bet it will be cheaper than most, if not all. We will see. To the others in the Rochester, NH area (including me) I'm walking:tiptoe: , well drivin...............YIPPEEEEEE
  12. Hi Camy, WOW you are even closer than I am.........I'm in Pittsfield. After seeing all the shipping rates, I am gonna LOVE this company!!
  13. I guess I need to explain a little further because I didn't really make myself clear in the original post. I was talking with the owner about the shipping costs that companies were charging and that it was a serious issue as far as I was concerned and that I was sure others were having the same concern. Some of us were paying almost as much for shipping as we were for the wax itself. She said that she was pretty confident she could ship a case of wax anywhere in the country for 10.00. And I told her that if she did, she would probably have more business than she could handle. Anyway, she claimed it would be in that ballpark and that hopefully it would be coming soon. Guess we will just wait and see. But watch their site, because there will be a huge change in their inventory, and they will be having a much bigger variety. As for the shipping, if she says she can do it.........I believe her.
  14. You are welcome Stella. I am just so glad to have a supplier that I can drive to easily and pick-up my supplies. As I said, Their website doesn't reflect what their inventory will soon be. LAura told me that they had reached an aggreement with Ancor-Hocking and that they will be offering a HUGE selection of glass containers as well that will rival the Jar Store. Guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.
  15. I don't wish anything bad on anyone. But is only stands to reason that it will have an effect. As for the wax, they are dealers in soy wax and I didn't ask if they were going to expand on that, but my guess would be know. Still, it is great news for those of us that use soy exclusively and spend upward of 30.00 a case in shipping alone.
  16. I have lived on this board for the past few weeks because I want to learn. In my reading of the majority of posts, one of the MAJOR complaints or concerns of ALL of us, is shipping costs and how they are eating up our profits. WELL I HAVE GOOD NEWS!!! I just got off the phone with a company that is located 45 minutes from my home. The company is "The Natural Artisan" and they are located in Gonic, NH. The sell all natural products such as soy wax and the will very soon have most other supplies as well although their website doesn't reflect that yet. The kicker here is this, ALMOST FREE SHIPPING to anywhere in the country!!!!!! What I mean by that is according to the owner, who I just got off the phone with, stated that she would ship a case of wax ANYWHERE in the country for about $10.00 thats right TEN BUCKS!!!! Now she cationed that this figure was only a guess at this point but that she was sure she could do it for somewhere in that ball park figure. Her name is Laura. They re SUPER people and I am going to LOVE doing business with them!! Check them out...........A GREAT company, owned by a lady who always is there if you need to speak to a REAL person and high quality products. And NO I am not affiliated with them in anyway, other than being a new and very happy customer!!! http://www.thenaturalartisan.com/ I have a theory, and that is, is they do in fact offer all of us this almost free shipping, it will certainly force other companies to follow suit or suffer....... Oh well, just my opinion.
  17. Thanks Di, I can ALMOST understand the domain expiring by accident, but as a webmaster myself, maintaining multiple sites, I have a hard time understanding how a reputable company would allow that to happen. But that aside, nobody answering phones, or returning emails? I am a little concerned.............
  18. Have any of you ever dealt with Ditto Candles? Are they still in business? I placed an order with them on the 21st and not heard from them since. There website has been down for 2 days and they aren't answering their phones............That sounds GREAT doesn't it??? Anyone have any info on them?
  19. Thanks Bren, I will give that a try!! You ever use a 70/30 mix? If so, how was it?
  20. Thanks Bren....... I am assuming you make containers.........what additives do you use and do you get a good burn? I have heard alot of horror stories about no hot throw and bad burns........
  21. I am fairly new to this and want to make soy candles because of the clean burn. I have spent the past few days GLUED to this board reading and trying to learn as much as possible. FOR THE RECORD: This place is better than any TEN classes you could ever take and the info is unbelievable!!! I want to make a good candle that burns clean and that has a hot scent throw that my neighbor can smell when I burn it!!! well almost anyway:D I have heard alot of good and bad about soy when it comes to hot scent throw. Can you tell me what you think about 444 pure soy and if I will ever get the candle I am looking for with it? Should I mix it with para, or should I simply buy another type that is premixed? Any help you can give me would be GRRRRREAAAAT !!
  22. www.candlesandsupplies.com is where I got the shells. From the comments I have gotten so far, I am beginning to rethink this shell thing..........
