  1. The burlap I use,I get at WMart, and it has no smell..they use it for deer hunting down here to. I wouldn't wash it cuz it comes apart so easily even when I cut it the threads come loose...but I like it scaggeldy, lol More rustic looking!!!
  2. I am hoping they sell..hubby is wanting to take them and sell them tomorrow, but I need pics for etsy. I hope they do well. They may not here in south Tx either. I couldn't sell incense at all. But we have changed our packaging and look and it is wonderful and I sell more than I ever did in years past. We have the western look going with the most wanted poster labels using square mason jars tied with muslin and leather...so I put the rocks in the square jars with a black lid(rusty for our wicked candles) and tied with burlap and leather..added the poster labels and a gold miner and call them Nuggets. Looks cute,so I hope they sell..thinking of 7.00..1 lb fit in those square mason jars to,lol. I thought of drying them with the heat gun..Pink Sugar..had to redo..maybe too much red dye..now I think the food coloring dries faster than the candle dye. So..the heat gun won't make the scent go away quicker? I figured if I heated them the scent may fade. How are you guys coloring and scenting yours? I finally just stuck them in a bag with food color and fo and squished!!!
  3. try Fillmore..I ran out to...searched hi and lo and BF told me there..and they are on sale!!! http://www.fillmorecontainer.com/Lids/G70-CT-Olde-Tyme-Rust-Unlined.htm I should have known to stock up to..my fault,really..thank goodnes I found them though!!!
  4. Ok..got crystals in and made 2 lbs. 1lb. I colored orange with food color with rubbing alcholol mixed and when it dried, misted with spray bottle DPG and FO together per JBNature's instructions..it is drying and smells good. 1/2 of each. (Sweet Orange and Chili Pepper) 2nd lb. I put in ziplock baggie, added 2 drops red candle dye(have searched, some say use, some say don't) and put 8-10 drops of FO and zipped and then squished around...it colored well and smells good and am waiting for it to dry. So far,I don't see why one would work better than the other. (Pink Sugar) In fact, the 2nd way is quicker and takes less steps and time and I'll probably do it that way...I MAY add a little DPG to bag to make the dye a little thinner, but don't think it would matter. It all mixed the same way. The first way also uses up a lot more liquid than I would care to waste and dab up...2nd was drier and coated well to...as humid as it is here in South Tx,I rather do the dryer way. I didn't measure anything..just as long as it coated well. Also the first way is a bit shinier and I do the western, rustic look,so I like the dry look better. So..those are my results and would like to hear from others who make these:)
  5. Ok..another and I have searched it!!! Anyone make the rock crystals and sell them well? I've done the incense and they didn't go over at all. I saw where you use DPG and ya didn't. Body safe dyes and some say it dosen't matter. I really don't wanna make these myself. JBN sells them if I decide to go with them. And what is Solar salts from Lowes? Ours may not have them..it don't ice up here much. TIA, Linda
  6. Hi guys, I have a few questions and hope someone can answer them. I need a great Mexican Vanilla and Sweet Orange Chili Pepper that are at the same supplier. GL closed and these 2 sell well for me. JBNature is out of Mexican Vanilla now and may be here Friday. I am also looking for the rock crystals to make the potpourri to. This supplier has all 3 and I guess I should just wait it out. I can't afford to pay shipping for a zillion different suppliers as I already have 3.Anyone know where to get these elsewhere? I am in Tx and need to check out LoneStar I guess. Any ideas folks?? Thanks guys!
  7. The Dollar Tree..found the cutest bushel looking baskets for a buck!! Bought them last year and have also found cuter ones there to..just depends on what they have when you are there..I hope they have more of those I found..have sold 2 already since being on Etsy..they are worth checking out for baskets..
  8. That's great news,if I had seen all of the ones I needed,lol..Wonder why Butt Naked isn't listed..sent them an email yesterday morning and haven't heard a word.I hope I hear back, but can call them..at least they have the other 2 important ones I need:)
  9. I looked at JBN and they are carrying MOST the FO's that GL had except Butt Naked that ppl here in Tx love. They are carrying the Sweet Orange and Chili Pepper and Mexican Vanilla..thank goodness. I have a lady that only orders the Mex. Vanilla.I hate Vanilla but this is the best I have ever had. I thought JBN pulled that closing bit a few months back to..OMG,and I need those top 3..anyone know where else to get those besides JBN? I've looked but can't find them except there, and Butt Naked at BCN is where I'll have to try that one I guess. They(GL) had started carrying some new FO's so i thought all was ok with them.
  10. Got my notice to,today and I have 3 FO's from them that are top sellers. I dunno about JBN but guess I'll have to get the 2 they are carrying there..didn't want to,I really liked GL..sad to see them go,and I am in Tx and got next day delv to...
  11. I have Leather wrote down and need a good vanilla as I just ran out..saw they had a lot of them..I was using Mexican Vanilla from GL..I just liked the fact he had so many to pick from and a lot of neat Texas scents..especailly the Mayhaw Fruit..Saw their top 20's and all listed Creamy Vanilla as a top seller. I used to order from GL,but they don't seem to answer emails or their phone to answer your questions anymore so thought I'd try Taylored Concepts..they are a little more though..so if I could get a good vanilla I'd use them as another supplier and drop GL.
  12. I am thinking of using Taylored Concepts for my jars and FO's as I am in Tx and have not used them before. They have a ton of scents and am wanting to know if anyone likes them and their fo's are good? I did a search and it says they are.. I need a couple of vanilla type and Christmas scents/and want Leather as well..anyone use these scents? Thanks, Linda
  13. Thanks Vicky..I finally wised up and looked at the supplier list..have been through it before, and I found a supplier in Tx for the bottles!! Gonna call them tomorrow..I thought Bottles and More was reasonable until I saw they had a 5$ min fee and sold a lot of stuff by the case.. I don't need a case of some of that right now. Thanks!
  14. I know..I'm full of it today,lol..but does anyone know a seller in Tx that sells the amber bullet plactic bottles? My candle supplier carries the boston rounds and I don't want those. I've tried googling and everything else and so far..no one. So if anyone knows I sure would appreciate it!! Thanks
  15. I thought of leather..or the new car smell..lol. Who has the grass or hay smell??? hay is a great idea..
  16. I found this place called Bottles and More in Ca,and wonder if anyone has used them or like them?? They are 10 bucks cheaper then Specialty Bottles. I need the 2 oz amber bullets and no supplier n Tx has them,so shipping will be a bit more...but I need some input on this company..I'll call them tomorrow but that don't tell me ho good they are.. advice needed asap!!! Thanks!!! Linda
  17. Hey guys, I saw my nephew this weekend and he wanted to know if there are new tractor scents??LOL Like new car smells??LOL Told him I had no idea of what a tractor smelt like! Anyway..they have a tractor show here in Tx up where they live and a craft show and I may do it..he collects tractors...what a good idea though and make a john deere green color? Any ideas??LOL Not a bad idea..but all I know is leather..lol.. Thanks, Linda
  18. I do to,and think the j223 and 52z's will work, just gotta play with it:) Hi,Kim!!!(soon to be Granny!) Linda
  19. yes you did..I hit the preview button again when the first didn't show up,then it did after i did it twice, lol
  20. I don't use soy, but I'm gonna give it a try with the 223 and 51's and see what happens..maybe these will work..
  21. Candlebuddy, Have you tried the 51's with them? The last wax I used was 6006 and if that works well I'll just keep getting the 6006 but have lots of the 51's I need to use up..I just ran out of 6006 and was gonna order the j223 for ther squares, but if I'm gonna do the tins and the 6006 works well and the 51's then I'm set, lol. 60 sounds big,but if that's what works then I'll order those!!
  22. Hi all, Has anyone tried this? I did see where 1 person did this and am wondering what wax and wick? I use the j223 and 52z and am thinking it would work in these. I love the look better than the square masons and can save my veggie cans to make them. If you do make these do they sell or go over well??? I make wickless most the time but like wicked to.. Any advice/help would be appreciated!!! Thanks,Linda
  23. Hi all, I have been wanting to make candles in veggie cans and make them rusty. I can rust them, but am wondering what wick,if anyone knows? I use j223 and 52z's. I think it would work, and can try it myself but wondering if anyone has used this or tried it? I did search it and saw 1 person who did this and am wondering what wax and wick. Any advice would be appreciated and if they sell these very well? Was thinking of making them instead of the square masons.. Thanks!!!
  24. Well I guess I'll try a few of the Texas shaped and use my mini muffin round ones then..couldn't resist the mini Texas shape..was to cute...I also have the small pumpkin and leaves to..We always did sell the cup ones though and the shapes never sold. They are so cute though. You use the cookie cutter to cut out the shap after the wax has cooled a bit on a cookie sheet. I'm still leaning towards just the mini muffins..I like the look of those!! Thanks ladies!! looks like just plain tarts sell the best! And colored the right color to match! Yep..Ike needs to take a hike...still looks bad here for us..but say a few prayers..things can change this week, but then the track hasn't changed in 2 days..not good:( They have this aimed right at Galveston today.
