  1. Thanks Vicky, I'll have to try it and hope they sell good. Can you make small batches with the gel and how does it keep? So sorry but have never messed with the gel. But I really wanna try this and add it to my line. Thanks!
  2. Vicky, Is HP gel the same as the candle gel? And,would it work in the slider tins?
  3. I'm thinking it's candle gel you make the gel candles with. Dunno though. I asked someone who makes them and they said they weren't at liberty to tell me. I may try that..the candle gel..never used it before,so dunno yet..lol. Can't be that hard to figure out, they make everything for everything..lol
  4. Hi, I'm wondering if the gel wax is what they use in the tin sliders for air fresheners? I make paraffin candles and have never used gel. I've been trying to find out what kind of base they use in those. All I could figure out is the gel wax? Help? I may wanna make these. Scentsy makes them to. I have googled and looked and can't find out anything. TIA, Linda
  5. I googled air freshener bases,wonder if it is a gel base..has to be. I wanna know.. I won't give up,lol
  6. I just asked this and didn't even see this thread..someone has to know. They make bases for everything. My son said it wasn't sticky,or tacky and didn't come off on your finger when you touched it? I wanna know what they used to! Anyone?????
  7. Has anyone here seen the travel tins by Scentsy? I'd like to make my own. They make bases for everything so I wanna know if anyone on here makes them or knows anything about them? I know you can buy the little slide metal tins, and am thinking this would be a great addition to my line. TIA!!
  8. Thanks so much! I'll go check them out. I have a couple of shapes I'd like to make myself..is this stuff hard to cut?
  9. Does anyone here make these themselves? Cut them? I want to know how and what kind of paper/cardboard you would use for these? I have some shapes I want to make myself. I have googled and can't find what the cut outs are made from or how to even cut them. Some look like paper,some..some type of cardboard. I rather use the cardboard/color. Any help would be appreciated! This may be in the wrong section, sorry if it is..
  10. Hey TxSioux, I am in La Porte, and I've always heard about TC's fo's and the weird smell from them and that's why I keep hesitaing, lol. I usually buy from BCS and North, used to from JBN some, but don't like the new buyers products. I even looked in NM online for the stuff, can't find it,lol. Where in Tx are you?
  11. Nope, not enough but for 1,2 candles, but I'm gonna make it last and use it in some room spray, lol. I agree with ordering one scent from TC,gonna go look on their site and see if there's anything I need and can get from them to make it worth the shipping. Ya gotta try the Pinion..ask for some samples from Chemessence..they give 4, 1 oz..at least you could see if you liked it,but then again, the same scent somewhere else can smell different. She said it was awesome from TC so I'll see what I can do,lol!!
  12. Yeah, that is a lot of money, that's why I say ~almost~ would buy it,lol. Their Pinion was great though, but I just don't want that much of it,and out of the other fo samples I had from them,I didn't like. Fixing to try TC's see if I like that one. I can afford that one and they are here in Tx. At least they give out 1 oz. samples,I know of no one else that gives out samples like that.If anyone does know of a supplier that does, let me know. Always looking for something new to try!! Already not happy with JBN changing over..they had my tureens w/black lids and Butt Naked my customers loved. They don't have either anymore except Sweet Orange and Chili Pepper that was a big seller for me. I hate to order one thing and pay shipping,so don't even buy that one anymore.
  13. TxSioux, It IS wonderful isn't it? We go west every year for vacation & NM is my favorite place. Been to Ruidoso many times to and all over. Pinion to NM is like Mesquite to Texas,(don't want my house smelling like mesquite though, that's for bbq) lol,and Pinion is my favorite and brings back the memories here at home. Of course we love Colo, and all the others but NM is my favorite, maybe cuz of the desert and the mountians..you get both:) I need that scent,Can't wait to get my samples and am going to try TC. I just almost think the 50.00 min. for Pinion would be worth every last drop of oil!!! What memories a fragrance can bring to ya,huh?
  14. I couldn't agree more about it being in a class all it's own..it's wonderful and it's not the regular pine for Christmas,or piney exactly. I actually was in NM last year and after a rain in the mountains, had the windows down and told hubby I wished I could bottle it up..it was awesome but for real..I'll never forget it! I love that smell when walking through the shops. I had found it before at Chemessence. Someone had told me a long time ago it was the closest thing to the "real" thing. So I got their free samples and loved it. At Chemessence you have to buy a min. of 50.00 worth and am hoping to get a regular size somewhere that smells like it. Don't wanna buy 50.00 worth, but it's almost worth it..lol. I may get a small oz. bottle from Taylored Concepts to try.. I ordered the free samples,as it's been so long ago, maybe they won't remember me,lol.
  15. Hi all, I am looking for Pinon Pine. Chemessence has it,but 50.00 min. order and I requested the 4 free samples from them. I need a place to order that I can order just 1 reg. size bottle of it. I want it to smell like walking through the shops in New Mexico and after a rain in the mountians (got to smell it last year after a rain and it was wonderful). Anyone know of a true scent to this and where to get it? They get it somewhere there, and am hoping someone here knows where:) Thanks so much!!
  16. Amazing, huh? I didn't realize how spoiled we were to it after eating it the last couple of years..lol. I mean,it was totally gross eating sausage from the store anymore, lol. Wish us all luck and our men get us enough to last for quite awhile this year! Good luck to all of 'em!!
  17. We are out..I hope they (my 3 men) get some more this year. I miss the jalapeno sausage and all of it..it's so lean it spoils you from wanting to get meat from a grocery store, lol.
  18. I could try those..I heard Persimmon worked but not sure...I'd just have to try. I don't make soap but can make the spray. Can't believe it's about that time of year already again, but around here it gets talked about every day,lol Almost like the season never leaves! I went deer hunting last year and it wasn't bad. I didn't get one though. Maybe this year..I rather go fishing though:cheesy2:
  19. Hi all, I am looking for an inexpensive, but very effective way to make hunter's spray for deer season. My hubby lives and breathes hunting and fishing. I did some searches and some say use persimmon scent. I make room and linen sprays already. I guess if I found a persimmon scent I'd still use my base with it? Any ideas would be helpful. I'd make some and send them with him to east Tx. He uses deer urine already,grossssss..lol
  20. Sister Kya, You make a great point and I should know better, lol. As with my candles,I have about 3-4 places I get from cuz ya just can't get what all ya need at one. I shoulda known the same holds true with lip balm, lol. I've also read nothing but good things about BCN's base. I just ordered from there and had I figured I wanted to do lip balms I coulda placed an order while getting another shipped, lol. Oh well, I need more wax after this wholesale order anyway,so may as well get it there. Their flavors are the best prices I've seen to. Thanks for pointing that out, like I said..I shoulda known, lol.
  21. Glad you told me that. I assume you are talking about Rustic Ess's. I didn't know they were the same place? My BF uses WSP. I compared the two,and WSP came out a little cheaper and has more flavors to offer. She swears by their lip balm but it has no SPF. I won't use them then..am so glad ya told me that! I have decided against a tint and sweetener. I wouldn't mind using mica, but don't think anyone would care if it had a shimmer either. Didn't wanna spend a fortune to start this and no one want it. I only do sprays that are B&B.
  22. Hi all, After doing a lot of searching and looking on the board about the best bases, suppliers etc, I haven't found a Texas supplier that sells it all..the base, flavor, tubes and shrink wrap. The two I have narrowed it down to are lipbalmtubes.com,and WSP. WSP in my oinion is expensive on their tubes, but they have everything. lipbalmtubes.com is pretty inexpensive, but not sure about her flavor oils...hasn't that many of a selection. I'd like to have a Texas supplier who carries it all as shipping is cheaper and next day delivery. I have used BCN, and BCS hasn't got all the stuff,(an hour from here, what a shame). Does everyone here shrinkwrap, use the boxes or ziplock baggies? I like the shrinkwrap myself. I also saw the lip balm with SPF or the vegan..which is better? Down here in the south I think SPF would go really well. Thanks for any advice would be greatly appreciated! Linda www.lonestarwaxworks.etsy.com
  23. Thank you to,Tracy! Makes me feel good!I've been doing this for a few years now and never could come up with anything good. One night I woke up and said..why not a most wanted poster? I worked and worked on it and finally found one that worked and fit my candles!! I couldn't believe it! I am now happy and proud of my new look! I also think it has helped me get the sales I've been wanting! I sell more on the outside than with etsy but I have never done this good and for a long period of time like I am now! I sell stuff every week!!! Thanks again for all the compliments!! Now to see if my rocks will sell some..lol! Linda
  24. Thank you so much,Debbie!! I joined in 08 and my BF has bugged me for over a year to give it a try. I redid all my stuff,so I thought, why not? I first thought it was really expensive,so no. I LOVE it there now! I have made front page 2x's and only been selling since Sept! It's not that expensive and so simple!! I am hooked! Just gotta promote some, but it's fun! Yeah..I keep pondering the oil..I wanna but then I don't. I read a few years ago that some ppl won't offer oil to refresh anything because of the expense and you make more when they buy the whole product again,lol..so much simpler to!! Who knows..I may not sell the rocks, but I'll use them and they weren't that much so we'll see!! I'll keep ya posted if they sell!!! Good luck to you,to!!
  25. I have mine posted on etsy,2 so far,but haven't decided to sell refresher oils for them. A lot more work IMO. Just to add a tag or directions to them when half my customers won't even read the list of items I carry is enough to tell me they'd have no clue, lol. Oil is so expensive to. If I sell the oil with them I'd be afraid that's all they'd want is a bottle of oil then and that's more stuff I'd have to purchase and add. When these run out they can buy more from me and I won't give them the option or tell them you can refresh them,I guess. I get mine from JBNature and they are only 1.00 lb..so not bad. I am selling them for 7.00..here's my etsy link so you can see the 2 I have listed. May redo some pics before adding the other 3..I like the Sweet orange pic the best and want them to look like that.. www.lonestarwaxworks.etsy.com
