  1. Do you put cornmeal in yours? I saw a couple websites where people said it contained cornmeal.

I make mine 50% CO, 50% lard. No superfat. I put it in twist up tubes. Works great!
  2. Does anyone have a recipe for this type of laundry stain soap. My mom has some and loves it and wanted to know if it was something that I could try and make. Any help would be great.

  3. I thought that was the whole idea of "tax exepmt" You can't be charged tax on something twice which is why you buy supplies tax free so that you can tax them when you resell them. I wouldn't think that you could go tax free if you are just using them for personal use. That makes no sense.

  4. I am starting to wholesale some of my Car Freshener Discs to a car care supplier and was wondering how the taxes on that goes. Since they will be reselling do I need to have a resale certificate for them on file. Any Ohio help would be appriciated.

  5. Thanks so much. I thought that it might be ash. It doesn't bother me. I got used to frosting with my soy candles so this is fine too.

Thanks for the compliment. It is my first and I think that they turned out better then I expected. I hope that my next batch is better. Going to try for GM, oatmeal and honey. YIKES. Oh well, like everyone says, it's just soap.

  6. I think that what I have on it is what you all call ash. It isn't lye, didn't get zapped. I tried some this morning in the sink on my hands and I HAVE LATHER. A nice one too. Hubby is amazed that all of those oils can make soap.

I told a friend what all I put in it and she said, it's liquid soap right?. I said no and showed it to her. She couldn't believe it either.

To tell you all the truth, I would have never thought that things in my kitchen could make a HARD bar of soap. You ladies all amaze me. I hope that one day I will have a great bar of soap to be proud of like so many of you. This is so much fun and I can be way more creative than I can be with my soy candles.

Thanks for all of your wonderful advice and I am sure that I am going to need alot more help. Nice to see that some of the more seasoned soapers are right in my own back yard (Ohio).

  7. I would think that it is condenssed goats milk that needs water. Not powder. That's why I was thinking that I would half the water and add the rest of the water portion in GM at trace. Is that wrong. That would make the liguid portion 100% gm right?

  8. Wanting to premix lye and was wondering something. For my recipe which is 47oz lye calculator says that I need 203g lye and 412g water. Do I half the water when I make the lye solution and then add the rest of the amount as GM at trace? Confused on this and need some expert help. I want to mix lye tonight so that it is good to go tomorrow.

  9. Thanks, I will post a pic. Fugly or not. Also, can I use my presto pot to melt and heat my oils and then add my lye mixture? Wasn't sure about the teflon, although you can use a rubbermaid pitcher to mix lye solution in. So maybe..

  10. I got everything that I need for my first cp and I am NERVOUS. Also, one more question. My dad loves Trader Joe's oatmeal and honey soap and I was looking at the ingredients and saw no sodium hydroxide or any of it's other names. What's up? Wish me luck. I am terrified and excited all at once.

  11. I want to try and make this, but I am confused. She didn't say what she did with the colored olive oil. I am assuming that she strained it and added it to the soap that she put in the pyrex. Is this right? That seemed to be left out and it is bugging me. I am a NEWBIE and this will be my first and I don't want to screw it up. Thanks
