  1. I need a starting off point quickly! I have no idea where to start with wording, etc so if anyone has a copy that they are willing to share, I would really appreciate it!

    TIA

Gosh now I have to spoon feed you too!! J/K ;)

I hope this means good news!! I would send you mine too, but it was lost in the crash a few weeks ago. I am making one up, but I doubt Ill have it ready in time for ya. check out this board, I think it has some links to some wholesale forms somewhere: http://www.candlebusinesscorner.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi

  2. I absolutely HATE liquid. They are messy. Not only is it too easy to add to much color, but the color always seeps through the drop squeezie and ends up all over my hands, clothes and everything else.

I have LOVE blocks. They give good color and are priced well. The only down point is that they are tough to measure for consistency in small batches. What I do is melt the blocks down and add a bit off votive wax to it, then make little "beans" so that I can measure more accurately.

Chips are too expensive for me and it takes ALOT to get a good medium shade.

I have not used powders or pigments so I cannot help ya there. HTH--Tess

  3. Thanks all!! I am looking to get one for my new merchant account. It lets me customize my shopping cart, but it also creates its own little store for me in their database. I checked it out after making my buttons for some of my things, and it looked really plain without a banner. I have also had some use for it in the past to link on to other websites. So I figured I may as well get one going! I may just pay the 10 and make my life that much simpler!! Thanks for the links too!!

  4. I used Lilac from KY Candle and DPG and I cut mine in half and put them in a vase that I decorated with beads like this.

I think they are cool and do a great job of scenting.

WILL YOU PRETTY PLEASE.... come over and teach me how to be creative with jars!! IF I did that, it would look worse than a kidergartners macaroni project!!

BTW did I mention those look great!! Good Job!! :)

  5. HI all!! I need to find a place to make a web banner. Any suggestions? I did a search and the only thing that came up was a place that charges 10.00 for a GIF format. I would like a GIF, but need a Jpg for sure. Thanks!!--Tess

  6. Woohoo! You are brave to swirl on your second batch. I made batch #7 a couple of days ago. I'll have to take a picture. I did an in the pot swirl. It was pretty soft, as I didn't take a water discount. It should be hard enough now to cut. I'll try to remember to bring the camera home from work.

    Thanks yall!!

Carrie, I actually swirled my 1st batch too!! IT came out pretty cool. I think I have the swirl thing down!! Cannot wait to see yours!!!

Diamond- As soon as they cure Ill be sending it your way!!!

  7. I have read through here for months...but what Im really needing is something showing me EVERYTHING about a business. Yall sound so professional...and I feel so clueless. Like, when do you get insurance. How you do you run your business? I know this is a pain for yall...but I sure would appreciate if anyone has the time to sit down and show me step by step...THANKS!

Well I dont know about step by step. It really is a sort of learn as go thing. You could always take a class in biz management. There are just so many variables involved, and everyone runs their buisness' differently. I would suggest you start at your county courthouse.

  8. Get some dude fo and add it to some Cyclomethicone and put it in a small fine mist spray bottle or in one of the small tester sprayers.

Cool Thanks!! I think I may stick a label on it just for fun that says "DUDE Scent" LOL He'll like that!! Can I add these as equal parts?

  9. Went & looked at the presto pots, found the $20 one but didn't get it. I'd like to get the model w/spicot that some of you have talked about. Wal-mart didn't have it. Otherwise, whatta ya'll do..dip out the wax?

The spigots have to installed, or you can buy them on Ebay already modified. Also bear in mind like Bruce said the prestos Are also direct heat, but more controlled. SO keep an eye on the temp!!

Oh and NEVER put the lid on it. I never cover mine. I get dust in there, but IT just sits on the bottom of the presto, and I just wipe clean when it empties every so often!!

  10. These are scented with Peak's Fruit Slices. No A or D. I was aiming for Orange with red swirls, but the orange came out peachy since I was shy on the color. Smells great. I was cleaning some stuff off the supplies I used and it did not lather, I am hoping it needs to cure before it gets bubbly.

The first is of the whole batch, and the 2nd is a close up so you can see the swirls. Thanks all!!

  11. Put your oven on Pam, let the stove top wax melt then just wipe off!!

Although I think it "could" have been water, if I read it correctly you were using direct heat. That is ver bad no matter if it is a coffe urn or whatever. WAX CANNOT BE HEATED DIRECTLY!! Why? Because the bottom heats way to fast and the top is still cool, hence "Ol faithful" . Becareful, and get your self a presto pot!!
