  1. You'll have to excuse my outdoor photo though, This was 2 days after I got out of the hospital for back spasms. Did not have half of my stock, no decenttablecloths, and no banner. But it is an idea.
  2. Here is couple of mine both indoor and out..
  3. They should have to pay the shipping. 1. They did not give you an option to purchase later, or warn you about extra shipping charges. Candlewic often is OOS on items I get from them, although they do not contact me about OOD items, THEY do foot the shipping. I would not have paid that in the first place. In fact I would call them up and ask to know why the extra shipping is MY responsibility. Seems if you were charged for it in the shopping cart, you are being charged for it twice.
  4. LOL I think we have almost named every type of wick so far. I like zincs myself.
  5. Yep same here. I have tons of converts!! I don't know about the candle biz as a whole slowing down, but my biz has quadrupled last years sales at this point of the year.
  6. Okay so now you need to find out where she did her swap.
  7. BEFORE you even THINK about contacting them:Have you poured these yet? Many times the oils smell WAY different OOB than in wax. I am curious to know where you got these, because if you got them from where I think you did, many do smell like you described OOB, but totally nice in wax.
  8. Ewww Yuck! That is one scent I thought I would NEVER see. HA HA I may have to get that one for S&G.
  9. Like every other human on earth, mistakes do happen. Luckily Becky is awesome with customers, and will always work to correct a problem. Sometime she gets really busy though, but floating an email is the best way to get a hold of her! Have fun with your oils! I am sure you'll love them. What did you get BTW?
  10. I *think* Uline has them too. I wanna say I saw them in their catalouge. HTH
  11. Cute stuff! Very nice looking. Much better than all the jelly jars all over TX. Your pics reminded me of my very first show. My table looked like yours lol! You could put out perhaps a couple of each scent to give it a more full look. You do not want to over clutter such a small space. I really don't think it is necessary to have a bajillion different concepts to get customers. It was your first show, don't expect the the money to start rolling in, you have to build a clientèle. Besides, lots of people are willing to try "new" candlemakers. So don't be in a real big rush to put out every freaking candle item known to man. Good luck next show!
  12. What pisses me off, is that I have listed about 10 times with my candles. They look WAAAAAYY freaking better than that, yet I cannot sell any. But these people put out crap votives, mark them up way high, AND people buy them? WTF?
  13. I was wondering this too. Hope it was not a "trolling" issue. :lipsrseal
  14. Im sorry but HOW did you say you got these. I am totally confused by your post. Okay I am starting to get ya, I checked out "Make-Up Alley". Does the lady you got them from have any idea where SHE got them? Was it from someone on this site or that site?
  15. I would hire a hit man to beat her ass!! LOL. Okay so you don't want to go to jail. Sorry I really don't have any advice. That is why I do not post my wax/wick/FO% combos on here or anywhere. People have called me selfish and rude about it, but then I wonder why they wanted it so bad in the 1st place. Anything I type on this board (or say in real life), I do with the assumption that is could be used or heard by someone I compete with etc. So I don't want my competition to know it, well then I don't say. If you read some of my posts, I am really quiet about whom I buy oils from too. Edited to add, if you are the competitor and reading this, you are about as low as pond scum ~ Shame on YOU!!
  16. Dang girl sorry to hear about the bust. Oh well live and learn right. Hopefully your next show will make up for it and then some!!
  17. Well I can assure you it is not the FO. I buy everything in 2# bottles, and have never had a problem. Mine sit out in a sunlit room, not direct sunlight but indirect. I have never had a problem. Of course my FO's don't sit for very long either. My guess is that you measured wrong or forgot to add the FO. OH and shake it next time. Although that should not be a BIG difference.
  18. They have always added new FO's at the rate they currently are. So nothing new. There are some things from both places that work well for others, and not so good for the rest. So to be honest, I don't think either company is threat to one another.
  19. It gets really hot out here. Around 100 degrees not including the heat index. Usually it is okay. I do 2 outdoor shows a month. The heat WILL affect them. I have an Ez up tent as well. I usually leave the wall off though for more ventalation. I DO NOT let the sunlight hit the candles though. I also have a small fan that I use that helps tremendously. A good tip though: Keep your outdoor stock seperate from indoor show stock. That way you aren't mixing outdoor kinda crappy looking stuff with your nice perfect indoor stuff. Thats what I do. HTH
  20. In your case I think you would have to do like Robin said and actually buy barcode rights. Those are expensive. Chain stores are mostly like that.
  21. The bar codes are just for me. It will help me be much more faster than punching in PLUs manually. I do sell to some wholesale accounts, and if they use barcodes, they might want to use these. But if that poses a problem, I can just take them off. These are small boutique shops anyway. I tried the Plu# like the 221 and the size dramatically changed. I thought I was supposed to type the description for the scanner to read. I will have to do that manually then. Phew, I hope this is worth it lol!! Thanks Robin!
  22. Thanks!! PA, how small are yours? I was shooting for the smallest being about 1/2" or 1". Here is an example of what I did, on a font size of 3. The labels itself is a 1.5" round I think. (for votives). When I typed in the Uoc code I wanted, It came out way big. The bar code itself is 4". MAybe I am typing the code in wrong. Aren't I just supposed to type what it is? In this case "Gardenia FP Votive"? Thanks~
  23. I was wondering what some of ya'll use for PLU's? I tried the avery Design Pro, but it creates a huge PLU that does not fit on the candle. I need to make small ones that could go on the warning labels of my votives everything else. Any suggestions? THX
  24. The pillar should drown itself when it come to the "unstable part" As with Glass Jars, the wick just floats around and migrates to the side wall, therefore breaking the glass. Then when the glass breaks, the extra flow of oxygen feeds the remaining burning wick which then causes a fire.
