  1. I was wondering, I have ordered from three different (to start, now six) suppliers for fo and I use the gw 415 soy wax. I am curious as to what could cause some fos to throw and not others? I ordered some off of the list in the forum that throw in soy and some that I just wanted to try, But some not all off the list throw and some that arent on the list do throw. I have made them all the same (melt wax then put fo in at 170-175 pour when cloudy etc) oh yeah and used the proper wick with good melt pool after three hours (same jar sizes with all.) What am I missing? Its driving me nut with all these combos and stuff I dont want to have a million different types of wicks maybe that might be it I've tried three different type in all the same jars some better melt pool then others but same throw? HELP:shocked2: Thank to you that do THANK YOU THANK YOU:)
  2. I was wondering if you put 9.5 % of fo in a majority of your candles. I am finding alot of scents I like are not as strong as I would like them. I want to put 1.5 oz of fo per 16 oz candle. I have high expectations for my candles.
  3. Does anyone use their F.O's? If so, what wax do you use and how long have you used them?
  4. Ok I dont know if I am slow or what but I dont get it. Is 6006 mixed with soy and paraffin? If not, What is it exactly?
  5. I add the fo at 170-175 then stirr for two WHOLE minutes. Then just pour. But just wanted to make sure that was ok. There are just so many variables. I think candles are like people, everyone is different. Wanted to be able to check off one more variable.
  6. I was just wondering what wax is everyones fav? Pillar and container Soy, paraffin or blend? Do you order or make your own? Just thought I'd ask?
  7. With the cb135, if I pour it at 170, will it affect the hot throw?
  8. yeah cool guys thanks. I just went back to my good ol' 80c and it brought back the scent, plus great melt pool and it took about 2.5 hrs. BUT not all suppliers carry those so I think I might change to the htp's.
  9. oh oopsie. I tried one with cb135 and one with gb415. But I am now testing with different wicks. we will see what it does.
  10. On the candle science site it said lx 16 but when I tested it it was way too small. Back to the sample packs I guess.
  11. Ohmy Gosh Close This Thread Already. You All Should This Much Time And Effort Into Answering The Questions That Really Need Answering. She Said She Got Her Answer Now Leave Her Alone. Whomever it was that referred "Paranas" hit the nail on the head.
  12. I get a good melt pool and it takes about two hours on a 2.5 in jar i am using lx16 but doubled, is that the problem? that it is doubled? what lx or what other wick do you suggest?
  13. Every order from peaks came with a free sample except when I ordered the 4 oz bottle alone. but two times in a row i got the same fo. My orders from candlescience didnt come with free samples.
  14. ok ok ok thanks everyone. I want to order now BUT i use the cb135 do you think I'll have the same luck? Or should I switch to?
  15. I had a candle burn with good hot throw then on reburn no hot throw, my tester said same thing happened to her. Whats going on?
  16. I have been using paraffin and I want to use the 6006 because it says great throw but bad things have been said on the forum. So, what is your fav pillar wax?
  17. Maybe she got lucky her first try with the wick.:undecided What I've noticed after going on these types of "business owners" forums is that when newbies come in and want to try something and sell it, the people that have been doing it for a while do come off a little mean. Just because some it took years to test and others are selling after a couple months of testing (some people being slower learners). what works for some might not work for others you all have said it. If their customers are happy be happy for them. "One mans trash is anothers treasure". Do your "product" the best you can. I think everyone should get a little more mature, quit going back and forth on stupid subjects.
  18. I never post either but this deserves a posting. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your labels!!!!!!! Twooooo thumbs up. Great job:D
  19. This time of year I find them at Albertsons if you have one, you might wanna check there.
  20. Yes I hand rolled them. Real cinnamon on the outside is what it said to do. I couldnt get the icing to get thicker it kept getting hard before I was even done pouring. Weird? thank you for the compliment:grin2:
  21. I was very excited to get these done. They smell awesome. Not as big as I wanted but next ones I'll make bigger. A little too dark and the frosting isnt white enough. What'd ya think?http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f203/NotJustBaskets/SUC50789-1.jpg
