  1. I made a 2 pd. batch of soap using the mango and shea recipe on PVSOAP it turned out great. It has cured for about 6 weeks, gave a bar to a friend to test for me and the soap is getting cracks in it and is still soft in the middle. Does this mean it needs to cure longer? The bars I used were fine. I have only made about 4 batches so I am still a newbie and need some help, please. TIA
  2. do I need to add vybar so it will hold more FO? IF so which one and how much. I was using ky 133 and vickey quit stocking it. She never listed it on her web-site but you could buy at the store front. It was a paraffin wax with additives but I dont know what additives. I am trying to come up with something similar to it. The 1210 is straight paraffin. Can I get the grubbie look using this wax? TIA
  3. Have any of you that make B&B products switched to the hydrovance instead of glycerin? I make lotions and have been playing around with the hydrovance and was wondering if anyone has found much of a difference between the two. TIA
  4. What is the best wax to use for grubbie candles? TIA
  5. Those are really cute. When you sell them in jars, how many do you put in each jar and do you decorate the jar? What price do you retail them for? TIA
  6. I just started making soaps. I have read so many good things about both of these molds, I don't know which one I want to order. Have any of you got both molds that can help me out on this. Which do you like the best and why? I do cp soaps, and have only made a few batches using whatever I can find for a mold. TIA
  7. I tested my lotion with the ph test strips. It was 3.0 is this about right or should it be higher? I think I read somewhere it should be around 5 or 6, so should I cut back on the citric acid? Can the ph be too low? TIA
  8. Be careful with those, their pretty but an accident waiting to happen. I had a customer tell me she had purchased three of those and everyone of them was broke. She said if you turn them up too high the bowl gets so hot they break. You can tell the customers not to turn them up all the way, but will they listen? They have some with Angels and Crosses that are beautiful at www.obiwholesale.com You have to login to see the prices but they are cheap.
  9. I put my recipe into the soapcalc. and this is the numbers I got. Hardness 39 cleans. 16 cond. 57 creamy 23 bubbles 21 Iod. 68 Ins. 132 ( this is the one that gets me, is this to low? and what does it mean) TIA
  10. when do you add the steric to the oils? Do you heat it with the butters and oils or stir it in after the oils are heated and start to cool down? TIA
  11. Where can I buy this product? It is a uv stabilizer for lotions to keep them from turning yellow from the light. You can add this to your products and package them in clear bottles without the light causing any problems. TIA
  12. What kind of bottles are the best to package lotions in? Can you squeeze the pet bottles or do you have to use a pump with them? Those that sell lotions, which sells the best the squeeze or the pump. TIA
  13. I am looking for some unique bottles for my lotions. I would like to have them in a purple or cranberry color, squeese type with a flip lid. I need them in 4 and 8 oz size. TIA
  14. using mango butter. I am new to soap making and was wondering if anyone would mind sharing their mango soap recipe. I can't use much coconut oil because it dries my skin out. Wanting something with good lather and conditioning. TIA
  15. I have a name I want to put on my lotions but not sure if it is already took. Is there a website where I can check to see if someone already has a trade mark on it. TIA
  16. Go to the VET and get the largest syringe they have. I think it is called a cather syringe. This is the best thing I have found. Makes filling the bottles so much easier and they are ready to use. They are cheap enough to use a few times and throw away. Put them in the Dish washer after each use.
  17. evidently you didnt see the post she posted, for some reason it has disappeared I didnt post her name until she posted mine on the reply she posted. I wonder why she took it off. IT was a long post. I was only trying to help you and others about those warmers you ask about. I wasted my money on them and hate to see anyone else do the same. IF you like I could send you one, check it out for yourself. I have about 3 out of 10 that was bad, they were chipped in around the bulb in a way I know it wasnt done in the shipping. One had the plastic cover on the bottom fell off. Sorry if I offended you. Sheila, IF you order the catalog from www.ackusa.com it is well worth the 10.00. They have really cute ceramic, hand painted electric tart warmer. They also have alot of other ceramic fruit bowls and canister sets to match the warmers.
  18. Good try shelly, but I still dont buy it. You even say on the site that you just put half a cookie in the warmer, I guess they are selling your cookies too! Others can believe this, but I dont. It dont really matter either way cause I stop buying them because of so many problems. I knew they came from china because I talked to them about buying a container, but after buying a few around here and seeing the quality of them is why I decided to sell other warmers. Like the ones at www.ackusa. com Now they have some pretty ones but you should know you carry those too! You could jump in and tell them how they sell. It wouldnt be telling me anything because I am fixing to find out as soon as my order gets in. You were the one who starting telling to not buy the swirl ones because theres trouble with the bowl not fitting right. Also the bowl is so thin, I have had people tell me they break after they get so hot, not a very good thing either unless you want a letter from a Lawyer. I have give my advise to the ones who have asked so just drop it Shelly, I know your dying to start something with me.
  19. I knew something didnt add up with the address you posted for the crystal warmers. It is all coming clear now after I checked the address on the contact info on that website and the website for nanasnecessities. They both are located on Keavy Road which is where you live. It is your website no wonder you say there is a High end and a Low end. I hope everyone can see why you directed them to the www.crystalwarmers webssite. ITs YOURS and you have it under your other family members name, maybe your daughters. Just trying to make a sell for Nanasnecessities no matter what it cost other people. Thats YOU.
  20. I give my advise based on the ones I have bought. If there is a high end and your buying them at the price on the web you posted then how are you selling them for 10.00 at the flea market? Something dont add up. I have bought them at different places and got junk at both places. I am just warning them to be careful before they buy because they are junk ones out there. They all come from the same place, CHINA . I am sure the web-site you posted is NOT where your buying from now is it. The ones I heard that bought from you also had to return a bunch of them because they were broke. There may be some good quality ones out there but finding them before you get stuck could be the problem.
  21. Be careful on the glass tart or oil warmers, I have had those and they are JUNK every 3 out of 10 will have something wrong, They will be chipped or the plastic thing on the bottom that covers the wiring will come off because it is glued. The bowl dont sit right on alot of them. If you think about it, I know they are only paying about 4.00 for them from china, so what kind of quality can they be. The gift connetion is where alot of the suppliers are getting them. They are located in california. I talked to them. They can tell you who they supply that is close to you. Hope this helps. I dont have their number handy but I could probably find it.
  22. If your wanting something different in the electric tart warmers go to www.ackusa.com order their catalog, I think it is 10.00 to cover the shipping. They have some really cute ones that look like teapots and the more you buy the cheaper they are. If you buy 16 of one style they are only 7.20 each. The only thing I dont like about them is they have a hole in the back to change the bulb. I dont know how they sell, I just placed a order Thursday and should have them by next Friday. I will be selling them at the Flea Market that weekend so after that I can give you more info on what customers think about them.
  23. Does anyone know where I can purchase this uv absorber? I need it for my lotions? TIA
  24. The ky 133 comes in long pieces like it has been shaved but after your just a little down in the box it is all stuck together. I have been using whatever I can find to beat it to pieces. I think I will check with Aztec in Knoxville and see what they have to compare to this wax or is all the paraffin like this? I know some of the regular paraffin comes in slabs. Does your wax come in flake form or what? TIA
  25. It is posted on the box Ky 133. It is what she said to use to make the grubbie look. I just dont like having to beat it to use it.
