  1. I am usiing the CO with 444 and my testing is turned out great, my scent throw seems to be better both hot and cold, I am not having as much frosting and my tops are smooth. Also have had no wick problems!
  2. It is actually a 4 day show, I know huge for my first time but it's close to home and I figure I need to start somewhere. I am starting to make my stuff now,and it makes sense to only take a few scents, I was thinking I have over 150 scents how am I going to do that!*faint* But Since it's Sep. I think I will stick mostly yo my fall scents and my most popular! Thanks for the tip! The first day is only in the evening from 5-9 the other 3 are 10-9. My Mom is going to come stay with me for the week to help me prepare and watch the kids while I am gone, oh yeah it's on my anniversary which DH is thrilled about:laugh2:
  3. I have been reading through the sticky but I thought someone may have something new to add
  4. So I am doing my first craft show in Sep. So I have a little while to prepare. But I was hoping to get some advice first, any helpful information would be appreciated! But really I need to figure out how many candles to have on hand is there a way to figure this out? The craft show said it had over 50,000 people attend last year. I also need info on where to get display stuff.
  5. You don;t want to measure FO by fluid oz. You want to measure by weight as each fragrance weighs different:wink2:
  6. I would also say wick up, and if you are wanting 100% soy your tops will not be smooth like a regular candle. Try adding beeswax or coconut oil.
  7. I'm Guesing she wants to make the "Bakery" Cinn. Buns not pillars
  8. Not sure where you are in MI but Mill Creek is located in Indiana.
  9. I made my first candle with coconut oil last night and it looks beautiful! No frost the color looks perfect and my tops are completly smooth. So much cheaper than beeswax! No I'll have to wait and see how it burns!
  10. Do you take the carboard out before dipping or does it not get soggy like when it gets wet?
  11. I am in search of some labels for my candles, I have made my own but have not been real happy with them. I want a more professional look but I also don't want to spend a fourtune for labels:undecided . Does anyone have any suggestions.
  12. My last batch I cooled in warm water just sat the jars in, I was having problems with my wax cooling too fast, my basement is cold, and it helped! I think it was the most perfect looking candle I have made yet. Completly adheared to the jar and no frosting!
  13. I am going to try using coconut oil tonight does anyone know does it help with frost too?
  14. I have had the same thing my initial tests were fine it's just been in the past month that mine has started doing this, my use by date is 11-07. The only thing I am doing different is using a whisk to mix my fragrance where as before I just stirred it in gently, I am going to only stir the next batch and see if that helps!
  15. I use the Golden Soy Blend 444 for containers and dye chips from mill creek. They are my jar candles. I use their temp. Suggestions Heat to 185 cool to 175 add my dye a mix well then my FO. I pour between 145-160 because those are the directions they gave me. I have tried pouring cooler and it seems to make it worse, my tops are fine because I add a little beeswax so I don't have any problem with that. I am just getting white lines all over the candle.
  16. I am having so much trouble dying my soy wax, I keep geeting white lines or snoflake type things on the candle, I have tried pouring hotter and tried pouring colder and it has not made any difference. It is doing it with everycolor that I use not just reds.
