  1. I agree with the others that is a very nice and classy label. Keep as it is.
  2. I am making a solid lotion bar for a friend who has excessively dry hands, that are as soft as sand paper at times! I am thinking of using these butters, Cupuacu butter, because i know lanolin is an excellent moisturizer but can cause problems, and this is supposed to be a good replacment. Illipe butter, kokum, and pumpkin butters, plus some beeswax. however i cannot think of which oils to use it with to, i want something very moisturizing, but that absorbs quickly, and i cannot see it happening with the butters i am thinking of. any ideas?
  3. Hello, I know essential wholesale have a lot of organice oils, but if you use that, you will not have as much of a long shelf life, as a non-organic base may offer. The only oils i am used to in roll ons, are FCO, Jojoba, and SAO. But i notice essentialwholesale.com carry something they call "perfumers oil" that has meadowfoam oil in it to, probably because it sticks to the skin for a long time. HTH's
  4. lets see i have a very long list, almost all the perfume dupes, but two that i am really curios about that are not dupes, are winter tapestry, and woodsmoke, i am ordering these two based on the name alone, also all the berry scents i could order and special edition vainlla, and osmanthus. If you tried any of the above what did you think of them, i am going to be using them for B&B only, to expensive to import things for candle making at the moment. Thanks again
  5. Thanks you to, i will check places that sell Cyclomethicone, though if i could convince some people to use roll on bottles instead my life would be much easier :-) Thanks again
  6. There are no suppliers around me for this, and i do not think this item can go through international shipping, so if i wanted to make a perfume spray what should i use. i once ordered from an etailer and they had sprays made from FO jojoba oil, and water. I do not remember much about this as i did not like the scents i ordered but would this be worth a try, and wouldn't it stain clothes? TIA
  7. I am at last making an order, but wanted to know from people who have tried them what are the must have scents. It is going to be an international order, so preferably what are the must have scents that have a FP > than 200F. TIA
  8. Does anyone know of a reputable supplier of this, with reasonable international shipping? TIA
  9. For molds, I found this site, i never tried it myself but it seem to be dedicated for bath bomb supplies, http://www.coastalscents.com/cfwebstore/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=2 also brambleberry has "perfect for bath bombs" under one of there dome molds here http://www.brambleberry.com/molds1.html
  10. The first few times are always going to be frustrating. It is annoying to try to figure out when too much or too little moisture has been added, as even with the right amount the mix seems somewhat dry. But also make sure you are working in dry temperatures. You need to experiment until you get the right feel.
  11. Hi Jadryga, L'occitane's shea butter is over priced, but if it is all you have for the experiment then good luck!! I agree i hated TBS's tea tree oil range, but when i use pure tea tree on spots it zaps them away. Rice bran oil, camelia, sometimes olive oil, and may aloe vera oil are the only oils i would allow near my face, otheriwse i know i am only asking for trouble.
  12. Hello again lovelies, ...just when i thought i figured out where i am going to order from i found JS website then almost all on the abbrevation list, and i do not know if it is the names or pictures but no i am overwhelmed by all these suppliers. Who are your favorite suppliers for B&B and specially for solid perfumes and roll ons? TIA
  13. You can use any oil, but try to stick to the lighter oils, hence why most people use sweet almond oil. What problems are you having with your bombs if you do not mind me asking?
  14. In my opinion depends if you are going to wipe the oils straight after putting them on, or if you are going to leave them. I personally would not place any butter on my facial skin, but because i know it would break out in a second if i did, I have a friend though who swears by shea butter! Other than that many of the facial creams here have camelia and rice bran oils in them, but the only other oils i find in most cleansers are essential oils. Check the from nature with love website, i do not buy from their because the shipping is too high for me, but they seem to have a lot of information about many types of oils and butters... HTH's
  15. I love making these they are fun and easy after a few starting mishaps. I usually use 1 part beeswax a quarter almond oil and a quarter table spoon of fragrance oil. (nothing scientific i've been making them for personal use) They are nice at the start but i wish the scent would last longer, is there any other wax i could replace the beeswax with or oil that will enhance the scents staying power?? TIA (i forgot to add, if I was going to give these away should I add preservative and if yes which one. I know there is no water but it would be in contact with the skin often.)
  16. Here to, i use a plastic ornament mold to make the ball shapes. Many online companies sell them, if you google bath bomb mold you will find many suppliers and could choose the one closest to you! HTH's.
  17. Thank you RobinOR...but WOW that is one wordy article! I am thinking of ordering some samples. If it's one of those you get what you pay for situations i would not mind, but not if it is going to last a very short while... Thanks again:smiley2:
  18. I have been checking their site, and i did not see any familiar kind of preservation for most lotions. If the products have such a high content of organic products, then how long would their shelf life be?
  19. WOW! your soaps are so beautiful!!! well done, and nice display
  20. Katshe, i started because first i loved doing my own lotions and soaps, specially because of the sense of satisfication i get. And secondly because i did not want to slather chemicals and 2nd grade ingredients on myself just because they were what is available, i had terribly dry hands and nothing seemed to help, even worst some things just broke me out in a rash!i just love to keep experimenting till i find something me and those i give my lotions to love, but now i also want bases i could fragrance which is not possible with all hommade lotions....BTW thanks for the simple soothings site, i'm off to checking it now...
  21. I really enjoy making soaps and lotions, but so far it's only been for personal use. But i am contemplating selling sometime in the future, and i am still weighing the pros and cons of selling bases made from scratch versus selling ready made bases. When i give people one's made from scratch i know what i have put in their and i feel i have complete control about what to expect, but then ready made bases do save a lot of the hassle where i only need to add fragrance and color when requested.Still these may not have the oils and additives i would like to offer people, i checked lindsay's site, and i love it but does anyone know if she would also do bases from oils that are not on her list, even if it meant extra costs?TIA
  22. Thank you all so much, Sarah i checked your site, and i love that you have some of the berry oils,Soapdiva, i now about newdirections, but for some reason though the US and Canada sites seem to have all we could wish for, the UK and Australia sites do not have an equally wide selection of oils.....Jad. I think i will take your advise for the oils and start looking in grocery shops, though i've only ever noticed olive oil and coconut oils here....Thank you all again!
