I am using Celestial Colors right now too.

Are you seriously looking for help about a FO addiction HERE? Good luck with that, LOL!
-
Cool! I love the dark line, and the ombre look of the wine color.

I took the 25% as the percentage of gm to all the soap ingredients. If you take the liquid as percent of oil weight; my gm soaps are almost 27% liquid to oil wt and thats with a discount. So a full gm soap of 25% or more is pretty normal. Or am I looking at this the wrong way?!!
That's what I thought too.

When I searched on amazon, the 06000 model was only being sold by third parties, not amazon itself. I believe, but don't know for a fact, that 06000 is being sold in surplus. And $50 is way too much!

The older ones (model number 06000) are larger and hard to find. The new ones are model numbers 06006 (black) and 06003 (grey).

I never use the rubber droppers with FO because I am measuring out larger amount that make the droppers impractical. But, yes, the FO will degrade the rubber over time.
Candle dye also will help break down the rubber. When I see signs of degradation, I replace the dropper.
Candlechem on ebay sells the droppers (with or without the bottle) for a decent price.

Unfortunately the lavender chamomile says candles only...

I've done the isopropyl alcohol method, and it works for me.

I am on the fence about ordering some. I don't "need" anything else right now from CS. The lav cham is the one I am most excited about too.

Thanks for the link. It's a bit expensive there. Maybe in the fall I will bite the bullet and buy the 50# cube from Soapers Choice.

I keep my palm in a presto pot and it only takes a couple of minutes to liquify and then stir and you're ready to go. HTH
Steve
Great idea! I have a spare presto too, one of the smaller, new ones. If I get into making lots of soap, I think I'll do this.

AAA Chemicals just had a sale, so I bought 32 lbs. I normally drive to the outskirts of Los Angeles and pick up the 50 lb. bags myself.
The sale is still on!

You can also check with your local hardware store. A lot of places don't stock it anymore, but might order it for you.

Does anyone know where I can buy no-stir palm oil in smaller quantities than what Soaper's Choice sells?

Both you and your husband are very talented!

I just made a batch of CP today, your famous "Quiet Girl's Basic Soap"!!

Did you get your order yet carol k? I placed an order about the same time, and had the same Fedex weirdness. My order came on the 10th, with a smashed bottle of Aloe Vera, and several bottles that were not filled or the wrong size. I emailed right away, and got an email back that night that they were replacing some of the bottles, but not all of them??
I guess I'll wait until the second box comes.

Looks very interesting... and hard to work with. Nice scarf!
Why does my candle wax have a crack?

Pouring temperature does matter. The rate of cooling is dependent on the difference in temperature between the wax and the surroundings (Newton's law of cooling). The closer those two temps are initially, the slower the cooling.
