  1. Several of my all-time favorites are at Elements (formerly Flickers):

    red tea

    ginger lime

    patchouli honey

    sea island grapefruit

    olive blossom

    balsam and citrus

    bartlett and basil

It makes an order worth it when you have so many favorites at one place. You should sign up for their mailing list. They send out sale information frequently.

Wouldn't it be great if one supplier had all your favorite FOs?? But then again, it is really fun to place sampler orders from everyone and compare.

Good luck with your decision. It's a hard one, but I don't think there is a wrong answer!

  2. the descriptions are nice, but don't typically represent what I smell - and heck I work for a fragrance manufacturer and we write this stuff! When different individual write the descriptions they call out what they notice most or are most important, and that can vary from person to person.

also, I best like the fragrance in the BBW clear shower gel in the bottle. in lotion, no where near as much. I haven't been to a store - just browsed our product closet at work - so haven't seen the other formats.

You have a product closet at work? That is pretty cool. What else is in there?? Does B&BW send you the products, or do people at your work go out and get them?

  3. Just noticed Peak added a new fragrance, Twilight Woods (B&BW type).

    Scent description:

A sweet, romantic Bath & Body Works type. This fragrance combines the scent of ripe forest berries and soft sensual musk, with middle notes of sweet mimosa flowers and apricots, along with subtle hints of oak and juniper.

    Sounds good!

  4. I have the Kelsei nine bar mold, plus the log mold. I love them both.

I liked them so much I decided to buy two more. That was on March 5th. I instantly got a automatic confirmation email of the order. Two weeks passed and I had heard nothing more. On March 19th, I emailed asking about my order. No reply. Still no reply.

I will have to call the number they provide. It's hard for me to call out from work, my cell gets no reception, and I don't want to charge a long distance call to my work phone.

  5. Oh so many to choose from!

    CandleScience

    Peak

Elements (Flicker's - many of my all-time favorites)

    Nature's Garden

I also get a few from smaller suppliers:

KY, Tenn, MillCreek, Candle Cocoon, Backwoods, Candle Source

    For CP:

The Scentworks, Brambleberry, Sweetcakes, Moonworks, Southern Soapers

Might as well just list them all!

  6. I recently made a batch of votives with the bay leaf and pepper. Cold throw is awesome. However, the hot throw wasn't very great, and I got a lot of mushrooms with my usual votive wick. Tried a second kind of wick and got the same poor hot throw and tons of shrooms.

I'll be trying a few more wicks on this one because I really like the scent. Maybe I can cut down on the 6% FO load too.

  7. It's a really fun party! I'm trying to keep it simple by just having two scents: the roses and mint julep. I might give that spa mint medley a try from the Sage. I have never ordered any of their scents before. It's kind of far away for me.

I've never ordered from Taylored before either, but that vanilla bourbon spearmint sounds good.

    Thanks for the ideas!

  8. I'm making some candles for our annual Kentucky Derby party the first Saturday in May. I'll be making red rose (from CS) since it's the "Run for the Roses." And I want to also make green Mint Julep candles since the mint julep is the official drink of the Derby.

Anyone tested mint julep from Aroma Haven or Just by Nature? I'm a little leary of the JBN one since it says it has lemon it in. Mint Juleps do not have lemon in them!

Or any other supplier? I may just go with spearmint - not sure yet.

  9. Well, my big time favorite from CS is Fig Tree, it's a green fig scent that smells like the leaves or peeled new twigs of a fig tree. It's reminiscent of a French fragrance that is my all time perfume favorite, L'Artisan Premier Figuier (means first fig). But I'm a fig fanatic, it's not a scent for everyone!

I am also a fig fanatic, but not many other people are. The fig tree is really great. Your description is right on.
